    Highly missed. Such a great player and kind man. RIP Dave, your time on earth was too short, but you left a great legacy that keeps inspiring people and continues to bring joy and inspiration.

    The first time I heard Dave Valentin, was on a 1977 rocording made by Ricardo Marrero's group Time.The piece I remember was Land Of The Third eye, a compostion written by Dave.Dave may be perhaps one of the very best flute players of all times.Thank you Dave for the music you left us all to enjoy.Rest in peace bro.

    Dave Teach drum in JHS 133 in the bronx in the early 70s he taught me how to play wow he was only 20 years old and the flute was his baby

      It's about 2:13 Monk, and just before that he references Matamoros. On the video it's mispelled Matomoros. BTW, I took your jazz appreciation class on line a while back & enjoyed it. You played at our wedding reception....Green Acres, Rome in '79. Rick was on keyboard. Tempus fugit!

    The so called "Jibaro" play the music all over Puerto Rico. Not what he is telling.
