Just today I was metal detecting in my back yard of a 1912 house. I found 1 1967 quarter 1 1980 D penny and 1 1981 penny.
New to collecting coins, I took a few 1967 quarters into local shop and was told they wasn't worth more than face value. So I went to a few out if state same thing. I know how people can be in that they maybe wanted them and hopefully end up getting them from me at a cheap price but I can't say for sure. But go on TH-cam and price goes way up. Weird
Honestly , you tube and coin channels seem to hype them up much more then they are. Errors and ms70 are the only real way they are worth more than face value.
I guess I will have to go through the 10 that I have. Thanks for the heads up.
I have and it looks like the leafs under the eagle have been placed in between and over the D and O in the word DOLLAR

Great info, I have a 1967 quarter that appears to have double lines on the front and back, liberty seem to have shadows, a tint area Epluribus,slight tint, I would like to know the value of it if any.
I have one and it is without any errors, but also heavily tarnished from circulation, I was super interested to hear the history of these coins

Please clear up my misunderstand, I thought if any coins were upgraded they had to pay for the upgrade, now I am wondering if there are quarters in circulation that that haven’t been upgraded at all and perhaps something is stated that all certain coins are now up graded and worth more money. I have a dozen or so of these. Just got 1 I am thinking was damaged during it's strike etc. I'm a bit new so unsure of technical terminology but basically it looks mashed or mushed or even a melted look on most of the edge all around as well as a few spots inside. Plus a bunch of tiny ..holes. Collectors be digging these correct & want em? Yea hey there en so I could possibly even probably sell it fer an amount mucho above & (I would not die from holding my breath for a) beyond it's face value..or even just above...? I even find it beautifully flawed tho I do not consider myself a collector of coins from here, there nor when.

Yes, you can. Look at the finish, regular vs slightly proof (shiny) looking.

I found a black 1967 quarter? Like really black and it's not just dirty. Any knowledge about this?
Black coins are usually dug up by metal detectors. They get cleaned off, then put through a coin star machine once the finder realizes it’s just a regular old quarter. Look into coin toning, though. Hope this helps
