Meaning despite not playing the field WAR still considers him the best player in the national league right now. So tell me some logical reason why he should not win MVP if his war is the highest and accounts for his lack of playing the field?

Lots of people already hate on Shohei for a multitude or reasons, but the thought that he could possibly be MVP as a DH will absolutely send them over the edge with rage and fury.
Ohtani is the MVP right now, his competition is Ozuna whose also a DH and Ohtani has better offensive numbers and team record then him, and Harper is not even in the top five offense and playing the least irrelevant position first base.
He didn’t even swing at a pitch, and his first swing of the game was to perfection. I’m impressed everyday with his batting. Insane.
Other players have to wander how his timing and swing is impeccable.
@@danielleon-uu7kp It could also be the way he doesn't really leg kick, just sets the toe on the ground, coils up and fires away as needed.
By not swinging he's giving the opposing pitcher a false sense of security for throwing in the middle of the strikezone.
