Sir V2O5 as catalyst ka Jo second reaction ha with HNO3, us mein vanadium ki oxidation state bhi same ha reactants and products mein and nitrogen ki bhi same ha. So how V2O5 behave as oxidizing agent in this reaction please?
Yahan pay. HNO3 OXIDIZING agent hai.. Jo k apny sath k reactant ko oxidixed krta hai. Lekn v2o5 already apny highest and stable oxidation state main hain so it can not be further oxidixed....

Balochistan k book mein lekha hai Agr vanadium k compounds +5 oxidation states mein ho so they are colorless due to vacant d orbitals .. so ap confusion door kren
D orbital empty o to colorless hotta +5 state m colorless hona chya I think NBF m likha ha k color of complex depends upon no. Of unpaired electron... Kindly sir speak on this query

HNO3 can oxidize v from +4 to +5 and v is stable in only two oxidation states +4,+5 other oxidation are unstable in complex formation
