What do you think the key themes are from the Research Pack? How do they affect the business and its aim to significantly increase sales? Which parts of the research might you use as part of your SWOT analysis and Product Life Cycle?
hello friend, after watching this video, im still not confident in what order i should start, i know your doing more than enough now, but if you can guide me and everyone on what headings youd start on for todays live session, i would appreciate it, so that i dont miss out on any key headings
Incorrect advice. 10 marks for AF2. The requirement is for two models (your choice). You can get 5/6 out of 10 just by using one model (e.g. SWOT). Dont waste your time on a third model. Much more important to spend time on a detailed Marketing Mix (AF5 = 20 marks)
You could add a note on whether the market is dominated by one or a few leading competitors. For the soft play market we are told that there are a large number of small operators, so one brand does not dominate
Part B in the case study tells you that Sana and Zak's aim is to significantly increase sales in the next 12 months. There is no market share information (not always provided) however we are told that 90% of centres are run as small single location businesses. So there isnt a dominant brand or competitor in the market.
are we allowed to shorten the name of a given business in the exam or should we use the given name AND can you write the marks available in 2 sides of notes
It's probably best to get his answers but I have watched a bunch of his past videos and he did say that even though some businesses name may sound weird or hard to write but its much more efficient to write the full name out each time as someone asked him that in one of his livestreams before
Yes you can shorten the name. For example, last jan 2024 lots of students shortened Best Rest Hotels to BRH, which was absolutely fine. The way to do it is to write the full name out at the start and then the shortened name in quotation marks immediately after. Eg Flunky Flasks ("FF")
For example: there is lots of evidence in the case study that demand for soft play centres varies by time - e.g. weekdays / weekends; summer / winter. So a key theme is that pricing in the marketing mix needs to take account of this. Another key theme would be the need for soft play centres to focus on different activities and experiences in order to be competitive. You could argue that is currently a weakness of S&S
i struggle with time management and stress out in the exam because i write really slow under pressure. what should i do because i’m aiming to get at least a distinction or a merit in this exam
Let's break it down. Almost every student gets at least 6 out of 8 for AF1 +AF8. Just using sensible headings and specific marketing terminology gets you those marks. The most important mark-scorer after that is the marketing mix (AF5) where 20 marks are available. So most time should be spent on that. After than, the key is to be selective and relate everything to the chosen objectives and research. So dont waste time writing page after page on SWOT, PESTLE etc.

Is there going to be a videos about the btec level 3 unit 6 and 7 this year?
Are you allowed to make bullet points on what you want to use in the marketing mix on your notes
Yes - provided you dont start writing out your marketing mix. Key points, issues is fine
Will they give you sheet of paper to do the 2 pages of notes or do you have to bring a sheet of paper to do your notes?
Should give you some paper.
Right. Thank you very much.
i dont gwt the people, process, physical enviroment part of the notes template will you go through it?
market growth, loyalty schemes, social media promotion , facility expansion
My teacher said that for justification, we have to use 3 analytical tools: Potor's Five Forces, SWOT/PESTLE and Product Life Cycle
honestly. do not.
too time consuming and i know someone who did swot pestle and portor's five forces and just got 6/10 not worth it

@@tutor2u-official if we were to do swot and pestle, is it ok to do the 4 swot paragraphs but then only do2/3 pestle paragraphs?
Am i allowed to take in the template you have given to make my notes ?
Yes
are the aims given in part A?
The aim (e.g. increasing revenue, higher market share etc, is given in Part B
Are you allowed to take in your Part A Annotations alongside your 2 sides of notes into the exam?
Yes mate
Yes. Though they will be checked to ensure they dont contain pre-prepared marketing plans, budgets or timelines
can i write by tag line/ slogan in 2 sides of A4 notes?
Yes
How do we add our complete 2 sides of pages
do you know if the grade boundaries be high or low this year??
Depends on how students perform in the exam.
When u said about for us to try and find some key themes what area of the exam would we put these at
I would have a specific section for AF3 summarising the key results and themes of the research.
@@tutor2u-official and that is seperate from the secondary and primary research?
@@williamdrage8200 No - in the heading AF3 Research, I'd have a part on "Key Themes"
How do I send you over my two complete sides of notes for feedback
What should i put for market structure on this template? What is also a USP
You could add a note on whether the market is dominated by one or a few leading competitors. For the soft play market we are told that there are a large number of small operators, so one brand does not dominate
USP is a unique selling point - something that differentiates a business from its competitors (in the eyes of customers)
@@tutor2u-official Ive completed the template if youd like me to send over the link?
How do we send over the link
im following your template, but the case study you provided dont tell me the aim or who the main market leaders are. So im confused
