Few big lessons learnt from this video:
    1) Try to get a proof while being very polite
    2) In similar situation, try getting the car for £10 pounds extra a day and get sorted for matters like last min. Hotel bookings and all
    3) Once have taken the car, then contact and reach out to the Customer Service and state the complete issue and seek for the refund and compensation.
At last, what EuropCar did is completely unacceptable and no one should have an authority to cancel a booking without consent.

Out here in the US, they just give us the bigger car for no extra amount if they don’t have the car that we booked available at the time of pick-up. At least the good rental companies do that. It’s good that you recorded what he did cuz it happens to a thousand people everyday and nobody talks about it. These companies take an advantage of that and do it more just because the first time customers don’t know about them

Whatever happened was wrong. Having said that, I would have handled it differently. I would have pushed on the customer service argument of having a confirmed reservation in order to get the upgraded car that they wanted to charge you extra for, without the extra charge. However, if they aren't budging, and me knowing that I wasn't in a position to negotiate based on the availability of other options, take their offer and deal with the company as a customer service issue after the fact. It would save from all this aggravation.

U did the best and it make sense to fight for your right. However, appreciate your calm.
Now the best would be look for other options as you are with your Family.
Meantime post the feedback on other social media platform along with video and make them realise the damage they have done for other travellers visiting UK.
I did my part by providing feedback on their site.

TD, he is asking you to pay 10 pounds per day extra for the car you booked. Even if your UK trip is 14 days, it is only 140 pounds. In my view this coercive deal , was still worth it, considering that options available such as Mataji health condition, taking buses irregular & expensive bus service, missed accommodation at Oxford etc. I understand the emotions you went through but on the whole you lose your peace of mind & convenience!
