    I woke up this morning thinking, "what if there was a tree planting robot". and here you guys are. I'm starting to think there's only so many ideas that haven't been taken lol

    I understand you guys are in the forestry business but you should really look into the fruit orchard business. I think your machine could work great on a flat California field. Good job

      It might work there. It wouldn't work worth AF in the forests.

    Great Idea Guys Congrats!!!! Question:
    how much operational autonomy do you achieve with a single charge in the air tank?

    As I'm sure you've though of, the robot needs a considerably larger hopper that can house thousands of trees for this to ever be worthwhile. A human can hold more and plant at a rate of 100 seedlings/ hour and travel through the roughest of terrains with ease.

    As a tree planter, foreman, checker and now supervisor I can tell you with 100% certainties that those little caster wheels will never make over a real slash block.. And the appendage for closing the whole is no where near versatile enough to deliver good results.

    great idea, I think humanoid robots would do better if you have an army of them and you control them all from behind a screen and give them the same command whether to plant or dig and even clean the forest if need be, great project, wish you guys the best

      But they'd be way more expensive and take more resources to build.

    Hello. I'm university student in Korea. I am participating a mentoring program about reducing carbon emissions in E&P industry. For the final project, I have to present about technologies to mitigate carbon emissions in the field. I found "TreeRover" in the process of preparing for the presentation, and I thought it would be good to use a TH-cam video presenting "TreeRover". I want to use the video from 20s to 43s in my presentation. So, I would like to ask for your consent if I can use the video.
    Thank you. I'll be looking forward to hearing from you soon

    Why don't partner with Ecosia? You can plant trees by searching the web. This will make their tree planting project much faster. now planting more than 132 Million trees in counting as of this time

    I fail to see why this is a good project. The problem that not enough trees are planted to compensate the trees we cut down, is not caused by a lack of manpower but by a lack of motivation and dedication from our governments. Yes - we need to plant more trees, but we need to do it ourselves and by doing so create jobs. In your video you say: 'forests provide jobs' - that's exactly what you are taking away with your robot.

    • @Monteoify
      @Monteoify 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you fail to see the half full of the glass, full with O2.
      Meanwhile wait for the dedication and motivation and good will of your leaders to give you fresh air when you wake up , cause you matter !

      I wish, i've tried applying for several tree planting jobs to no avail sadly :(

    • @Kaczyfunny
      @Kaczyfunny 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think you see the wrong side! The job is not the planter here. The job is the forestengineer, who plan the forest ( what type of trees, how much, where ect) the hunters, the guards who see after the wilderness, the workers of paper and furniture factories, the enterprenoers of tourism, the builders and employee of the water powerplants and the flood system, and so on, so on... these are professions you can learn in school. The planters dont have to be educated only the few team leaders who teach them how to do it. The planters can be replaced by robots, its a very hard work not so payed, and seasonal. The others give a lot more longterm jobs.
      Educate the mass and plant faster for an advenced society. The idea is perfect, its still need to developing, but its a good way.
