  • Today we even surprised ourselves and how much we got done in the garden. We started a new pumpkin patch started an oyster mushroom bed planted sweet potatoes, mulched harvested, and cooked the garden meal.

@crumblecookiefingers6884 Did you actually watch what he was DOING through the entire video? Working away WHILE giving us all interesting information. Did you actually watch in the past how hard he worked at filming everything through their entire crisis while also taking care of everyone, back and forth with Bri at home and the hospital to be with the babies and the older children, AND manage to film it all for a continued income . . . how hard he worked before that, on essential mold work and digging drainage around the old house, building a beautiful and needed root cellar, fixing the old chimney, taking down the old barn etc etc. So . . . no, the old house didn't get done enough to live in. One person can only do so much before it's too much and something breaks. If you're in that kind of situation yourself, I hope you can relax a little . . . we all can fall into the trap of harshly judging others (or ourselves) when too stressed. Take care. 🌻

      I totally agree with @crimecritteronthefarm and @oldwillowtree...
Arthur is amazing! Have never seen a man work so hard as he did before his burnout!
And now he's working almost as much again - full time in construction, and on the farm and at Briannas' on his time off work! And filming/editing videos, and taking care of his family! 🌸💪🌸

Arthur, rice paper needs only to be dipped , ( one piece at a time) emerge in a large bowl of warm water, immediately lay on a plate. Paper becomes more soft as you layer your vegetables and then roll up. But work with each piece one at a time.
Good interactive family meal, just lay out components on the table and let each child dip their own paper and pick out what type of foods they like for it.

I for some reason decided to try pine needle mulch this year. Very frusterated with the other stuff. So far so good. And has the mix of leaves to. Got it from similar a forest space that was free to have. So I am very excited to see how it goes.
Love that ferment you are making.
The rolls all of them look delicious. And practice makes perfect. You can get bamboo little rollers that will help roll. omg that little toad!!! So exciting the mushroom trial. I bet it will do perfect. The very ending eating together made me cry 💕

A suggestion is to purchase a rooter tiller. It will make gardening so much easier! Till it up then add compost or whatever you like and till it in and proceed with planting and mulching . I also retill in late fall to incorporate dead debris into soil for next season. Cuts prep in half!

    • @RusticReel

That's why they say in fall...leave the leaves where they land...don't rake them...they make the best natural mulch for the garden floor👌...we still live in the suburbs...and I always laugh at how 'untidy' the neighbour's probably think our garden looks...but it's actually the most natural and healthiest way it should look/ be👍😅

It’s great that they give their toddlers such a variety of healthy food ☺️
Surprisingly many children like spicy food .
You just have to let them taste all kind of vegetables and spices from the very beginning instead of giving them bland or sweet and salty food like snacks.
