If you want to import a design onto the 3d model without the edges getting cut off you have to turn on the show 2d texture and import your design onto there. Also open up the reference window and select 3d so you can see where the actual placement lands in real time as you're positioning it on the 2d texture plane.
Hey, thanks a lot for this tutorial ! Did you make a video where you explain how you present your model in 3 parts like at the end of your video? Thanks
so love this, and used it to start laying out my next tattoo idea I want to give an artist cuz I think it'll help really illustrate what I expect. but I'm running into an issue with wrapping an image all the way around the 3D arm... is that not a feature with this or am I just a newb?
Thank you🙏 And it’s neither, it is a limitation of Procreate and how it works with 3D models, they have edges/seams and you can’t go over them. My work around is cut the image in half and try to line up as those edges in 2D mode.
Awesome way to master placement to get the best visual effect. Thank you! I assume if the image size gets a bit distorted when adjusting width/height while its placed on the 3D model, the new dimensions can be brought back onto the 2D version using the select tool, effectively resizing the design to match the body shape?
Happy New Year Floaty, Im so glad I found your video as an artist. Plus Its a relief that the skin tone can be changed so tattoo artist can finally practice and refine their skills on darker shades, even though doing it in real life is way different. I fear that even if caucasian and artist who lack melanin practice with this app, they'll not actually educate themselves on the skin and skin's reactions of those with Melanie and of African descent. There are so many artists that Im dying to see but many dont have experience or sufficient experience in tattooing people with melanin, I speak for all of us when I say its truly frustrating and depressing to see so many tattoos that we wish we could see on dark skin; of course economics and environment play a factor but most caucasian artists dont even realize how they're ignoring a whole group of people because to them, seeing and tattooing someone who looks like them is normal
I totally understand and have heard about the struggle. Yes you can change the skin tone, just drag and drop your tone from the color wheel to fill the first layer of the 3D Object, I do it in the video but the camera adjusted the colors and canceled it out so it’s hard to tell.
