what a stunning player huw morgan is..i was amazed at how well he played on each instrument ...beautiful piccolo sound with notes just popping out effortlessly..
First of all thanks to Huw Morgan for his nice and instructive playing and explaining. I have met mr. Rapa the other day in The Netherlands and I have to say it was a cool brass experience. Happy that the Lotus team gives me a trial period to test the 2XLplus. Definitely I am going to try it on all my trumpets. This piccolotrumpet experience would be a dream;-). Anyway on my b-flat first impression was already quite impressive.
What an accomplished trumpet player! A large mouthpiece that allows such versatility between different instruments is a dream for most of us. Congratulations, mr. Rapa! Looking forward to try one.
This trumpet player is a monster! I bet he could play almost as good on a 7C. His playing did make me think twice about Lotus mouthpieces in a positive way.
Well Josh, I would certainly say that Huw is the bigger factor in the wonderful tone he is producing! However, the mouthpiece helps him create the sound and articulation with a greater sense of ease and physical neutrality. Henrik Grahn Lotus Trumpets
I heard him perform the Enescu in real life and he sounded amazing before this mouthpiece, the mouthpiece might help for ease of playing but it depends on the player.
“The space between the notes seems wider.” I’ve heard this exact comment from other professionals regarding these mouthpieces - and who hasn’t always wished for clearer slotting, on trilled notes - especially in the upper partials?
im looking at possibly buying a 2s plus nickel silver and am just enquiring as to whether the piece is going to be a similar size to a giardinelli 6s which ive played on for years?.
I switched to a LOTUS mouthpiece and there is a problem: I started to overshoot high notes! It is a good problem, but to this day my muscle memory still can't believe the distances are so short..
@@lotustrumpets6739 Do you happen to know if Huw was using the XL with the smaller throat or the larger throat? On your website it mentions that there are 2 throat options, the smaller of which is intended to help with clarity of articulation. Thinking of trying something aside from my Monette moutpiece. Very interested in buying one and trying it out. Huw sounds great and seems to find it very easy to play anything he wants with the same relative ease. Nice Job Adam.
@@Selective-indifference Thanks! Huw is playing on a 1XL Plus with the smaller throat size, which is for players who specifically want that extra crisp and clear articulation. You can place an order on the website and try it at home for a week, and if it's not everything you want you can return it for a full refund, minus the shipping cost (given that the mouthpiece is in good condition). Hope that helps!
Hey Stephen! That would be our 3L, in either Standard or Plus depending on the intonation quality you're looking for. Here's a video where Adam explains that in more detail: th-cam.com/video/ny_LL2mu7O0/w-d-xo.html Henrik Grahn Lotus Trumpets
@@stephenvannevel9216 Oh, that's right! The closest equivalent in our series is the 2L, not the 3L. My apologies for the wrong recommendation earlier. I must have misread the information when looking up the GR 66MX. You can order all three and try them out, then choose to keep the one you feel the most comfortable with and return the others. You can also get the 2L for starters, and odds are it will feel very good for you. If I were you, I would probably start with just the 2L to not have to put out as much money to begin with. Let me know if there's anything more I can do for you!

Stu, the PLUS and STANDARD models are many generations ago and are no longer produced. In fact, we no longer produce them in the same place. The current version of what Adam is on in this video = 1XL2 Brass.
His articulation on the piccolo is astonishing, wow 😮
A thing of rare beauty and art, indeed.

one of most georgeous trumpet tone I have heard so far on youtube! 😵😍🎺 Top tier tone for sure
My, what a wonderful trumpet sound! So clear and full with great articulation! 🎺👍
This is the size I was looking at getting, and I am blown away at the way he sounds characteristic of each instrument on that mouthpiece!
What an absolutely gorgeous sound. Thank you so much for these videos. Inspiring!

He has the best sound in the trumpet world. Amazing.
Beautiful tone!

He's fantastic!
I can’t tell whether the player or the mouthpiece is creating such a great tone

The mouthpiece he's playing is a 1XL Plus in Brass. Thanks for asking!
On our current menu, this would be the 1XL2 in Brass
I want to try this mouthpiece out myself.
Huw is on our v 1 1L+. This is now the Lotus 1L in Brass on our current menu.

The proper match in Lotus = 7XS in Nickel Silver

😍🎺
I think you should always mention which mouthpiece.
Fair point, we could make that more clear in the video text. In this case, the mouthpiece size is given in the video description.
Can anyone point out to which piece is being played at 5:19 ?
Found it: "George Enesco - Légende" from his "The Art of Modern Trumpet, Vol. 1"
Very nice !!! Take my money !!!
We'd love to: www.lotustrumpets.com/store
What is the first thing he plays?
Eine Alpensinfinie - Richard Strauss
What mouthpiece is he using for this? Size?
That would be a Lotus 1XL Plus mouthpiece with the smaller throat
