This takes me back to Sunday nights with my family

Back when the weekend evening was meant to be more family oriented. Michael Eisner may have had his problems near the end of his tenure as CEO of the Walt Disney Company, but he did something that had been lost after Walt passed away. He brought the human touch with these introductions. A connection with the audience that sold the illusion that these characters could be interacted with in the real world. With these introductions, Michael could talk to the audience much like Walt did. I know it costs money to air movies on network television, but at least we know what we're getting with a movie over "reality" television. If there was one thing the strikes last year did, it was causing the delay American Idol with their barely talented people and the contestants. For a while, we got the Wonderful World of Disney back on a regular basis.

Mickey is NOT the only mouse to have won an Oscar. Tom and Jerry won several.

Mr. Eisner's intro was a part of seeing the movie! I loved the intro to 'Splash, Too' because he had the screenplay written and then opened the movie on the construction sight of The Disney-MGM Studios and says hi to Madison in the lake and they showed the mermaid tail in the water! IF ANYONE HAS THIS INTRO PLEASE CONTACT AND?OR POST! These magical Sunday movies need to be released on DVD! Classic's. XOXO

It was Mickey Mouse in Walt Disney's 1938 masterpiece short, "Brave Little Tailor" that aired before Walt Disney Productions' "Robin Hood" which premiered on "The Disney Sunday Movie" back in 1986.

The Disney Sunday Movie was an anthology series that ran from 1986-88 on ABC. It started out as a 2-hour series (including commercials) but got shortened to only 1 hour in 1987 which obviously didn’t work because some movies (such as Alice in Wonderland) needed a huge number of scenes cut in order to fit into a 1-hour time slot!

    Mickey: Just ONE?
Me: Sorry, Mick. That's the way it is.

Why is it that free over the air tv from the 80s seemed so much better than cable tv now that you pay for?

Not as many channels pushing their programming.

    "Walt Disney's first star"
no wonder Oswald was so upset with Mickey

Oswald wasn't made for the Walt Disney company, though, he originated in Universal, but he was created also with Walt Disney

@@ChaseMC215 No one said he was made for the Disney company. But it doesn't change the fact that Oswald was Walt Disney's first star.

This was when Disney still had not yet regained the rights to Oswald back and so they avoided mentioning him as a way to forget about that horrible ordeal from many years ago when they lost him. In the late 2000s Disney finally got him back and they utilize him now somewhat.

There was a special about two kids moving to Nevada and the old couple sings “your in Nevada now” I think. Does anyone remember that episode?
