    I had chemo after lung cancer surgery. NO ONE mentioned that neuropathy was a possibility after chemo. I now have neuropathy in my feet and hands. I am starting to do the exercises now a year later. I would have started earlier if I had known it was a possibility and could be avoided. Sigh. Oncologists should be encouraged to talk to patients about all the kinds of effects from chemo that are possible and how to avoid them. Thank you for this video. It is very helpfeul.

      I'm sure there is a reason!? Oncologists never really told me what or how I would feel. They just asked me.

      Likewise if it is known that cold treatments help to prevent the onset of neuropathy, why don't hospitals make it a part of chemotherapy?

    This was great, thanks so much. I had breast cancer, and chemo in 2018-2019. Now it's hard to sleep because my ankles and feet get painful pins and needles, and restless legs. It's so annoying!

    Thank you for all the videos you make, I am starting radiation & chemo in 2 days. It has sure helped prepare me for the chemo ahead. My team has done a great job as well judging by the information you are giving. I will keep watching more of your videos, one cannot get enough great advise from Doctors, teams and survivors.

    I just started my first round of chemo. I am a type 1 diabetic. My Dr. Advised me to take Dexametheson, for nausea and this made my sugars go way high. I do not want to take this anymore. Thank you for this information.

    I was led to believe by the oncologist that what I was experiencing was neuropathy which was mentioned. What was not mentioned was Hand and Foot Syndrome which was not mentioned as a potential side effect. Red burning sensation on the hands and feet with cracking and peeling. Associated with the 5-FU that I receive in the take home pump. Just a note to everyone not to confuse the two like I did. 👍

    Thank you SO much for your worthwhile info. My mum, 80 years ago, has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I am very much into healthy food / lifestyle. I encourage my mum however I struggle …. How much advice can one give without loosing yourself? Can you make a video on caregivers please ? You probably know by experience what you wanted from others during your treatment / recovery. Mum has severe neuropathy in her feet. Huge thanks Christel 🌻🙏

    Thank you for sharing. You are right. My doc told me he wasn’t going to tell me what to eat. I felt horrible as if he didn’t care and he’s great so why he said that is beyond me. I’m relying on videos and other cancer patients to help me with nutritional ways to eat so I can beat this. This is my second chemo treatment and I have done well. No nausea yet but I am experiencing exhaustion, dry mouth, bones are hurting, hair has changed, a little stringy, not soft anymore, a little rash, nothing serious. I’m lost because I feel I’m not being told things I should know. That’s why I research to help me prevent what the side affects can and will cause. I have Invasive Ductal carcinoma and has spread to my lymph nodes. I’m experiencing breast pain also. I’m grateful for any suggestions and advice. Thank you.

      3 scrambled eggs a day, kept my WBC numbers where they belong, through 12 rounds chemo. Lime juice, from a bottle, NOT the lime, will settle your stomach. Do not drink at night before bed. You can mx with orange juice, 50/50.

    I was diagnosed with severe neuropathy after my chemo. I didn’t have full use of my legs and struggled to sit and stand. I had an EMG up and down all 4 dudes of my legs 😢 I was diagnosed with severe neuropathy and told there was nothing they could do for me. My legs felt like they were on fire and pain that felt like a hammer was pounding on my feet. And I had that feeling like bugs were under my skin running up and down.
    I am single. Going through cancer treatments stole my life and career. I had no income during it. And I’ve lived very poorly. I’ve been diagnosed with dementia after chemo. My brain shrunk from chemo. My gums receded and exposed my teeth. I’m at risk of my teeth falling out. And my body is saturated in platinum heavy metal toxicity from the chemo drugs. I’ve changed primary care doctors multiple times these past few years hoping anyone can help me. But every doctor just stares at me with no words other than “I have no tools in my toolbox available yo me to help you.” And then I say “how can medical doctors put this in me but not have a way to get it out of me?!?!”
    I’ve managed to do holistic therapies by the grace of God. I wish our traditional medicine actually gave credence to holistic therapies. I’m tired of watching the people around me die.

    • @lilbitsleepy2574
      @lilbitsleepy2574 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It’s sad that so many of us only turn to holistic approaches after the mainstream leaves us reeling from side effects. It would be great to have a dual style approach or at least inform you of other things out there to consider. Wishing you all the best going forward

    • @tammycarlockrealtor5324
      @tammycarlockrealtor5324 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@lilbitsleepy2574 agreed. I actually had a very holistic lifestyle prior to cancer. But I had no idea at the time that people had been healing cancer holistically. But I think that if doctors don’t start incorporating holistic naturopathic therapies into their practices now, in 5 years their careers will start seeing a decline. The word is out!

      Chemo leaves your body after a few days. Countless cells are damaged in that time. Sorry you are going through this but there are things you can do. Start with the exercise in this video. I use Vicks Vapour Rub on my feet and a moisturiser to massage them. Look for a 24 or 48 hour one with no fragrance etc as you don’t need more chemicals. Stay off all processed food, they all have chemicals.

    • @tammycarlockrealtor5324
      @tammycarlockrealtor5324 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tsunamis82 thank you for the advice. I’ve actually done way more than that. But I would never put a petroleum based product on my skin. Ive done a lot already. My damage from chemo has been well beyond anything those things can fix. I’ve had to do far more drastic and expensive things for healing. A brain MRI showed I had dementia caused by chemo drugs. The neurological oncologist told me “your brain has shrunk from chemo and will continue to shrink faster because you have had chemo.” My story is s as bout to go public.

    just spent 3 moths in the hospital recieving high dose PEI treatment with stemcells. i thought it was the worst 3 months i had, now that i am home, i am quite unsure that this was the hardest part.
    The neuropathy i get from the ongoing treatment with oxaliplatin is really becoming a big deal... my hands feel cramped, touching anything cold feels like electricity.

  • @natashahanna3680

    my neuropathy is worsened by cold. the chemo drugs I'm on cause cold sensitivity, so those gloves wouldn't prevent neuropathy for me. I have to wear gloves when taking things from the fridge or the tips of my fingers burn. I can try the other strategies, but can't prevent it.

    I have Raynaud’s and lose circulation in my fingers just from holding a smoothie or something cold and this happens in my toes. How would I be able to do the cold gloves and booties? I tried them on my hand but it was so cold it hurt. I want to minimize but literally my fingers turn white from lack of blood flow and not sure I could deal with that for 2 hours because I think that would cause nerve damage from the lack of blood flow. Any ideas? Thanks
