I have a toyota hilux (1kd) manual and whenever i am on a hill or the vehicle is under load i get no throttle reaponse. I got it scanned and they were no codes, however it was discovered that i am not getting the desired fuel pressure. It has been brought to my attention that it could be the SCV or the injectors. Any ideas or advice?
Will do. We have a series coming out for the 1GD scheduled for late August. Thank for you for this content idea, I'll be sure to get this one in there. Matty B
What sort of noises can these make? I’ve got a noisy 1KD, a loud hum I can hear through the cab when it’s warm. When I put my stethoscope on and start hunting around it sounds like it’s coming from the back of the fuel pump. I’ve got no performance loss, it’s juicy I guess - like 500-550km to a tank. But it’s not sputtering. It’s an early 1KD, euro 3, so they’re known for being a little on the rattley side when they’re cold. Last time injectors were checked the feedback values were fine. 250k on it, hoping to not have to replace the whole pump.
@@DieselGeeksOz no EGR blank, cleaned recently. New clutch and pilot bearing, new timing belt and all pulleys and tensioners on the front replaced. Fuel filter replaced. Not the alternator, I pulled the plug while the car was running and the noise persisted. Wasn’t really looking for a diagnosis, just wanted to know what sort of noises are common from a cooked scv.
@@DieselGeeksOz I am, it’s not knocking, it’s humming. I dunno, it’s weird and I can’t nail it down. I work with water pumps and it sounds like a bearing or a pump with a restricted inlet. But I have no dramas with it surging or running poorly. It might be time to admit defeat and take it to someone.
Just some feedback on your audio. Your microphone is terrible. It sounds like you are in a large empty dungeon. Have a look around the reviews, spend a few hundred dollars, learn where to place it for best results. No background music underneath speech, unless you are an audio wizard extraordinaire. Almost nobody knows how to do this properly, so just don't do it. Because of the music, I couldn't understand what you were saying, I couldn't be bothered with captions, so had to cut it short. Best of luck!
I commend your explanation, very clear and concise but in layman's term. Well done!
Thank you for taking the time to give us some feedback, especially the positive kind haha. Cheers
Doing a great job Matt

Great video Matt
@@reecediesel-1 thanks guys. Appreciate the feedback!
Can you do a detailed video on the 1gd egr and their common leak faults.

Can a worn SCV make injectors noisy?
@@troymckibbin528 in a sense, yes. It can make the engine more 'rattley' overall, but it won't cause an individual injector to knock.
@DieselGeeksOz thanks

@@darren6285 diagnosis by TH-cam comment is a dangerous game to play 🤣 but let's try.
EGR blank in place?

Would this be contributing to my issues where at 1/4 tank it essentially runs out of fuel? Yes there’s still fuel in the tank
