Incredible. I have heard the live version on the Kettle Whistle album... probably thousands of times over the last 20+ years, easily my favorite live song ever. Perfection. Not sure what recently got a bug up my behind to do a deep dive and look for the live video on youtube, never thought to. This is as close as it gets, recorded less than a week later, and you can tell they were hitting a stride in perfecting the song. I've sadly never seen them live, but I've watched about 50 different live versions of the song, and this by far is my favorite. What a pleasure to watch.
In my Humble opinion,..That is the best live soul singing performance Perry has ever achieved for this song "Jane Say's", I mean you just never know when vocal perfection is gonna happen,...and it happened that night 23 years ago on July 27th 1991,..the rest of the band on the other hand(including Perry's stage presence),...well they were all just pure Rock n Roll perfection every fuckn night they played.
These guys blew my mind in1991 at the horden pavilion,I was 16 to 17yrs old still in high school.Will b a great memory for yrs to come.If anybody else was there that night would love to hear from you.
