M17 is for extra office feel. That if you put a sticker on the Alien logo it will look like a basic laptop. Good for stealth and undercover gaming during work.

Dwight Schrute there is no wrong laptop. You will be happy with whatever you chose. Both laptop have fan noise. You can control the fan levels on both laptops

Don't buy A51M R2 its not worth it for 2 processor cores. unless developer the best build is an M15R3 Solid just as fast as the m17R3 being they have same specs. my Area 51m has 10th Gen 10900K It's good and 2080 Super 32GB 3200mhz & I score on 3dmark with small overclock around 16900. The M15 is around 14500-15000 via 3dmark
The Area 51 is just too bulky for me... 99% of its point in use is extreme high quality gaming. With the M17 it’s thin enough and gets any job done with no flaws whatsoever... gaming would be almost just as good. Yes I’m getting the m17 r2 in a week lol
so apparently, the area51m r2 is only upgradeable within the same family of cpu/gpu. They're not guaranteed to be upgradeable when the new generations come out. No point in the 51m r2 if its not an actual desktop replacement

The laptop is beautiful either way, but after getting a $4k quote for this when theres no guarantee for future upgrades is asking for a bit too much. a 2080 super with an i9 5.3ghz wud be nice with a 4k display.
u should of gotten the 32GB you would be surprised with the 32GB I got as high as 17500 on 3Dmark Time Spy Benchmark. 64GB is overkill unless a developer or extreme gamer. Like a pro Gamer.

Kyle LeBlanc Vlogs i had some issues from time to time. Sometimes the keypad does not work and i had Problems with the machine turning off while im working. I got me a skin from mightyskins for better protection of the laptop surface. The touchpad is not the best but we get along lol. I would not recommend to put a 2080ti in the graphics empifier bc u will loose around 30% pf gpu power. Just spend the exrta bucks on the 2080 model
@@comandernejo I see hopefully the new model with 10th series cpus have fixed a few of those issues. But I already have a 2080ti in my main rig right now so it actually saves me money and gets me 2080 performance because yes you lose about 30%. Saves me money since i already own one, works for me.

It is normal for servers and good computers to start up with max speed fans and slow down after a minute. I had the fans set to max always. You have about 5 speed settings you can set

The 51M uses desktop level CPU and non-max q Rtx card, even the motherboard chip is desktop level. It requires two power bricks in order to play game in full power. That's why it is huge. m15 and m17 are both nice laptops too, very attractive design and hardware.

It all depends on what you want. If you are looking for a BEAST gaming laptop the 51m will be the one for you however if you are going to use the laptop for other thing such as school work etc. I would go with the m17. Much lighter and easier to carry around

Emrah Suna it doesn’t seem to scratch easily. It is very strong and scratch resistant. Of course unless you do it with a knife or sharp objects
