This is by far the best take on "Bumble Boogie" I have ever witnessed. The speed and accuracy are outstanding and Hannes has truly made it his own. I don't think there is a single word which can describe it what you see in this video.
+Der Verbesserer 0816 I'd rather listen to this version. Liberace was a showman, and his version is very showy. That's not bad. That's what made him a mega star. This version while not showy, is just damn awesome!
For the life of me I can never understand why there's dislikes on this clip. Anyone that appreciates music or plays can plainly see that Hannes is one of the most talented virtuoso's that ever sat at a piano. There's nothing at all to dislike about this video at all that I can even by the stretch of the imagination , can see. I really wish that those people would stop being either wiseguy's or haters, I think the player is fantastic bravo!!! Hannes
Vielen Dank!
people are too ignorant to realize that skill like this exists in the natural world, but takes years upon years of practice and experience. this is magnificent playing on so many levels. you remind me of a jazz arcadi volodos. absolutely flawless
Always good to talk to an old fellow South African. I'm still a young 55 years but haven't lived there for a good 18 years now. I remember reading somewhere that to achieve greatness, it would take at least 10,000 hours of practice no matter what you're doing being it playing the piano or doing magic tricks. All it takes is hard work but try telling that to the kids today! Ek praat darem nog steeds Afrikaans. Geniet jou dag.
***** It doesn't seem at all "phantastic" that there are far more difficult compositions than this one. Obviously there are, and everyone knows it. So what.
Absolutely the finest playing of the Bumble Boogie on the internet. There is no other version of this complexity and difficulty. Every note seems to come thru as clear as a bell although many are played at a mind boggling pace. His thirds are truly awesome. At times Otahal plays octaves in the right hand at lightning speeds, with perfect precision, as he moves up and down the keyboard. Most performers stay with a simpler version often using single notes. Ive seen the Liberace performances of this piece and his renditions (although very good) do not require the virtuosity and are not nearly as interesting as this arrangement. One can not listen to Hans Otahal's performance of the Bumble Boogie just once as its so exceptional. Why anyone would dislike this video is beyond me except there are those malcontents who just have to make some kind of an opposing statement (which is dismissed, in this case, by the vast majority).
I learned this last night. Pretty straight forward. All that's needed is an innate gift of celestial musical talents combined with the dexterity that only 1 in a billion have. I don't have either.
To anybody that thinks this video is sped up- the answer is NO. I'm a boogie pianist myself and I can see that it's not sped up, Hannes has a really really good technique. It's a joy to watch how fluent he plays.. Thanks, mr. Otahal! Keep up the great boogie.
There are certainly others...try Hiromi Uehara's Tom and Jerry or Summertime on for size. I will admit it is EXTREMELY rarified atmosphere these folks operate in, though.
I love how at 2:28, after doing that long rundown, he introduces the bass groove with both hands, then just leaves his left hand to do it by itself while he begins the right hand melody, its so awesome.
My dad taught me play the Bumble Boogie, but never could play it like this, not even close! Now my crooked fingers can't reach an octave. I will play this video for my daddy when I see him next. He has Alzheimer's, I can show him pictures of his old Porsches, he remembers them, I can bet it will bring a smile to his face. Thank you, amazing! You do it Justice.
You know, no matter what skill it is, somewhere in the world at any one time is the person that is the very best at it. IMO Hannes is the very best boogie woogie piano player in the world.
So amazing how you blended the jazz into a classical piece as "flight of the bumble bee" !! Totally amazing ! you should have your own mark in the history books..... standing ovations !
OUTSTANDING!!! If anyone has ever tried to record themselves, it's ALMOST impossible. Loop it then minimize it. Hearing it is even better than watching it!
Rarely have I seen anyone with such crystal clear technique and control. If ever. What’s more you can tell he’s relaxed and not tensed up on those runs! Of course a yamaha has a pretty clean and responsive action, but damn, this man is a god.
Thank you for sharing this stunning performance of piano master Hannes Otahal! We have shared this on our website at RealPianoMusic.com and our Official Fanpage at facebook.com/realpianomusic.
I just had a professional pianist friend stop by. He specializes in stride and boogie woogie. I told him you have to check this guy out. He was impressed bordering on blown away. One thing we both wonder. Why doesn't this guy have a DVD out? Awesome playing.
This is by far the best take on "Bumble Boogie" I have ever witnessed. The speed and accuracy are outstanding and Hannes has truly made it his own. I don't think there is a single word which can describe it what you see in this video.
+Cannock Chase Organ Club Have you listened to the one by liberace ?
Yes, many times!
Cannock Chase Organ Club And you still think this "version" is better ?
Yes. That's personal opinion. I find this is the better version out of all the ones I've heard. Do you have a problem with that?
+Der Verbesserer 0816 I'd rather listen to this version. Liberace was a showman, and his version is very showy. That's not bad. That's what made him a mega star. This version while not showy, is just damn awesome!

@lflarry1 agreed, comrade
And it's usually from idiots who wouldn't know one end of a piano from the other.

This is outstanding, I can´t imagine how many hours of study and practice he made to reach this flawles level of piano playing,
Haha, yea, I've been playing 6 years and this is still way too hard for me
EpicfaceMcepic Heck, i've been playing for 11 and this is still at least 10+ years above my level. He's probably been playing for 25+ years.
Typically about 10,000 hours of playing will give you this kind of skill.

I never get sick of watching him play this nor listening to it! Phenomenal! THEE DEFINITIVE BUMBLE BOOGIE!

There's nothing more enjoyable that watching someone at the top of their craft. This is Brilliant.
03:17 ... the rythm and his control blew my mind
I learned this last night. Pretty straight forward. All that's needed is an innate gift of celestial musical talents combined with the dexterity that only 1 in a billion have. I don't have either.
Finally!!!! You are a person who does not cut the notes , you are marvelous!
THE BEST PIANO PLAYER EVER!

So many thanks, Lasse! You're right. It's a pleasure to listen to you! And it's great to read a comment from someone who knows how to play the piano
He replied 9 years later
The excellence in this performance is unsurpassed... almost like it's not human.
I only thought I'd seen good piano players till now. I'm at a loss to describe this.
There are certainly others...try Hiromi Uehara's Tom and Jerry or Summertime on for size. I will admit it is EXTREMELY rarified atmosphere these folks operate in, though.
This is best edition I've ever heard. Every note is so clear and accurate!!!
That was one of the most incredible things I've seen in my entire life
One year to arrange it, memorize it, and to master it, Bravo!
The grandmaster of piano. Your fingers are faster than the blink of an eye. Very precise notes, you've just outdid the math in music. Bravo!
the most incredible and inspiring video of someone playing piano
just out of this world. How on earth do you manage such speed and accuracy and to synchronze such different hand speeds.
The best Bumblebee Boogie ever be played on TH-cam. Hats Off to you!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! Impeccable accuracy, tempo, everything!
This is BEST piano piece I've EVER heard !!! Played so strong and so juicy in full power !!! I listened 28 times so far ! Amazing ! BRAVO !!!
Amazing, brilliant, and definitely cuts any hope to ever be able to play this monstrous piece of art in a million years
I love how at 2:28, after doing that long rundown, he introduces the bass groove with both hands, then just leaves his left hand to do it by itself while he begins the right hand melody, its so awesome.
That’s how it is written. :)
Can’t believe it only has 12K likes from 1.3M views! Outstanding!!!
One of the greatest instrumentals of the 20th century, and come to find out there's an EXTENDED version? You, sir, just made my day.
Now there's a guy who practiced his scales every day...
Ha yes that's where I went wrong
Maybe he played Czerny a lot.
More like a guy who practices the bumble boogie every day
Possibly even his arpeggios as well
Apparently practice makes you better.
He is not human. AMAZING STUFF.
I have this song on record and I always wanted to see it in action. Brilliant.
My dad taught me play the Bumble Boogie, but never could play it like this, not even close! Now my crooked fingers can't reach an octave. I will play this video for my daddy when I see him next. Amazing Talent and Dedication! Thank you! Listening to you is a real treat🎉
A lovely way to pass a Corona isolation day listening to beautiful music.
An excellent demonstration of mad skills!
Alles immer first class.
He played without orchester? I'm in shock!!! Bravissimo, Maestro!
Just love the boogie beet, this is the most "intense " version that I ever heard.
me: watches for 2 minutes, smashes head in the piano
Just like Don Music?
Wow, that's a seriously great pianist very impressive
BEST VERSION I’VE EVER HEARD, PERIOD!!! WELL DONE, SIR!
You know, no matter what skill it is, somewhere in the world at any one time is the person that is the very best at it. IMO Hannes is the very best boogie woogie piano player in the world.

Unbelievable skills!
The power of the mind is amazing
WOW...ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE.
So amazing how you blended the jazz into a classical piece as "flight of the bumble bee" !! Totally amazing ! you should have your own mark in the history books..... standing ovations !
Utterly speechless. That's impossible! Master indeed! Bravo!
Wonderful. The best rendition I've heard on TH-cam, and I love that piece.
It will never be done better
Worlds first spider to hands transplant
OUTSTANDING!!! If anyone has ever tried to record themselves, it's ALMOST impossible.
Loop it then minimize it. Hearing it is even better than watching it!
Wow! That was amazing!
I ought to admit, this is a bit better than Liberace's version.
The speed that he started playing at after finishing the into got me! My jaw dropped. That's insane!
Well done Sir! God bless your gift.
R u kidding me?! So crazy fast. I am n awe, sir
He is real master! Two ears are not enough to hear it :D
I've watched it a dozen times and still don`t believe anyone's hands can move that fast, and still hit the notes. Amazing.
I'm an instant-fan. You're my hero. Officially from this day on. You write history, especially the history of my youtube account...
Music like this makes my life happy!
Her: this isn't what i meant when i asked, "what them fingers do?"
Hannes: oh...
How many times I watched this. It deserves an Oscar! What a performance!
I think, if ever reach to play this masterpiece, at the end my arms would fall down to the floor!
Basically all of the fun stuff and character is perfect and the superhuman stuff is even artistically beautiful.
Bravo! I am so learning this before I die!
He makes it look so effortless.... Wow. Just wow. Amazing
THIS.
IS.
AWESOME!
So enjoyed listening to this powerful performance by a Maestro Pianist who I bet has classical training. Bravo👏👏👏❤💐
i was waiting for it to burst into flames!
I'm surprised that no one called the fire department!
I’ve always loved hearing bumble boogie but I haven’t heard it played in a long time
It makes my finger hurt just watching this.
How nice that he provides the sheet music so I can immediately reproduce this at my piano! Great!
OH. It's as hard as it sounds.
Sehr stark! Ich bewundere dieses Fingertempo!
Seine Frau wahrscheinlich auch ;-)
hahaha
Nicht das Tempo, die Prözision
Wite whigga 😂👏
I forget how skilled people really are on these pianos.
My fingers hurt just by looking at it.
Daumen hoch!!
BRAVOOOOOOOO !!!!!!
WOW!!!!! Best Bumble Boogie I have ever heard!
I wish you could too - but you can't
Hahaha damn man. I read that as I was thinking about it, bravo
WOW! That was WILD! Absolutely LOVED it! I wish I were half that talented.
BRAVO!!!
Rarely have I seen anyone with such crystal clear technique and control. If ever. What’s more you can tell he’s relaxed and not tensed up on those runs! Of course a yamaha has a pretty clean and responsive action, but damn, this man is a god.

THANKS AWFULLY!
OH MY GOOOOOD
I don't think I've ever seen anything like this. Amazing
Thank you for sharing this stunning performance of piano master Hannes Otahal! We have shared this on our website at RealPianoMusic.com and our Official Fanpage at facebook.com/realpianomusic.
Dave Grusin brought me here. I'm so glad he did :)
Very very impressive Schroeder7. I am truly amazed.
Lady Gaga, justin Bieber etc....THIS is music!
As far as I know that's the Intro of Spike Jones
Outstanding performance!
defuq? what have you smoke?
LOL ! :)
No, to get to this level you need to NOT smoke anything, for a long time.
Looks more like cocaine or stuff like this.
Everyday, he finds a piano and shaves off some wood and smokes that.
I'll combine meth, crack, coffee and candy to replicate this
I just had a professional pianist friend stop by. He specializes in stride and boogie woogie. I told him you have to check this guy out. He was impressed bordering on blown away. One thing we both wonder. Why doesn't this guy have a DVD out? Awesome playing.
