It's that simple. The hard part is you have to keep reaching out to the artist on your hitlist until you get the collab. You may get a bunch of no's, but eventually, you WILL get a yes.
I had a guy with 100k streams on Spotify charge me $600 for a feature. I'm like dude, even if you were that good can't nobody afford an artist with half a million streams I would rather invest it into myself and sound better. You can get 10x the features for that price from 10 different artists
