This video has a potential of 7 billion people audience and is a good production and informative content, but I can't help my selff asking: how much effort does it cost to you to put cm and grams to the dimension weight specs, along with inches and lbs (which mean nothing to the rest of the world), so that you choose not to do? rest of the world is doing math while watching it to convert lbs or inches to make sense of what you say or write on the screen...

Hi Matt. Thanks for the coverage and excellent video as usual. The inclusion of the QHD displays in the segment of the Nitro 5 is really amazing, but do you think GPUs like GTX 1650, 1650Ti, and 1660Ti will be capable of playing modern games on 1440P? I doubt it myself and I think the least option will be 3060 to get a respectable FPS on such a nice resolution.

@Ömer Bayar for 1700USD you might as well just buy a higher spec pc than a nitro. That’s a very high price for this ugly piece of plastic.
i got the 2020 version. solid laptop, highly recommend for all you budget gamers out there. it may be pricey in some countries, but for the other people its around 600-1000. although getting a pc for 2/3 the price is a better option tbh

Dude! Everything you said is new cosmetic wise from previous one, exists in my 4800h 2020 model.
I have a 2018 version, fantastic laptop for gaming I can play very demanding games no problem with at least 50-60 fps. I love the red keyboard and it being able to handle 32 gig ram. The only problem I have is the lid likes to show scratches, and the keyboard is a fingerprint magnet, but it's easy to clean using microfiber cloth. The speakers are great with using the Dolby audio app that it comes installed with. Fans are very easy to clean. I just put in an 1tb SSD in November and its very easy to swap a drive, however the internal cord is very thin so use with extreme caution when messing with the hard drive. Ram is also very easy to swap and get to. I noticed the charger can get a little hot along with the laptop when gaming, but it seems to do much better since I updated my graphics drivers for the AMD. Overall this is a underrated computer and should be considered as an option for gaming laptops more.

Best review. I've been looking around for true actual product review for the Nitro5. Most of the other youtube review is full of rubbish content just to extend the video length. This video is straight forward spot on ! Great job.

Question for the full review: I heard that many laptops don’t put that much power into the gpu and it greatly reduces performance. Does the new acer nitro 5 3060 model put more power in the gpu? Pretty sure it should over 100 watts or something. Correct me if I’m wrong plz.
Been reading in the comments and alot of them mentioned that the new BIOS update (came out in June I think?) fixed this problem.

This is pretty great but the design makes me wanna go for the Legion 5 or 7 with Ryzen 7 5800H and RTX 3060/3070 depending on PH prices.

@@tokyonairobi3759 If you care about the display, you should go for the Legion 5 Pro or 7. The display is a 16:10 QHD 120/144hz. But if you are on a budget, you should get the 2021 Nitro 5. Don't worry, Acer said you can configure it with RTX 3000 cards on the Ryzen variant.

Thanks for this video. Beiong that 2021 is the year for thunderbolt 4 / USB 4, I eventually will want to acquire a laptop that will incorporate those ports, be an AMD 5000-series generation CPU (meaning the port(s) will necessarily have to be USB 4) and will have discrete graphics (GPU) to accommodate content creation using NLE video production using Blackmagic's Davinci Resolve 17. I doubt I will do any gaming but might dabble in it on occasion. Will this be the laptop I want to wait for? I am open to the Predator or Nitro line, but want upgradeability (memory, M.2, etc.) and a model reasonably priced. Any thoughts? Thx.

I bought this laptop a few months ago and I absolutely love it. It’s WAY more perfect for its price and I really recommend it. I encountered a problem with just Minecraft though, my frames are usually stuck at 25-40fps when I should be receiving almost 60? I tweaked the settings and still no improvement. My Minecraft shouldn’t have such low FPS while I run games like Star Wars battlefront 2 or assassins creed on high and it’s getting 60fps. I even made sure my max frame rate is increased. It’s not such a big issue, but it’s kind of distracting and doesn’t make sense
If you have this and you are expecting only 60fps on minecraft, then something is already very wrong
Finally, they put the power port on the back and separated the cooling fans. Small changes but a welcome one nonetheless.
Between the specs, the final correct layout of fans and the storage options, it's what I'd want out of a laptop away from the main pc.

I just bought this same laptop. Feb 2021. It has the fans separate, no red around the mouse pad and charger in the back. 144hz display. 1650ti gpu

wish every gaming laptop had an option for either a HDD or a 80+ Whr battery ! These ryzen cpus are super efficient and those big batteries can be awesome !
And I wish they would release a white or metallic grey colour as well, black feels a little full now.

i have it rn, at night i can see where touchpad is atleast a bit, and the back has 2 vents that in new model seems to be trimmed a bit, i had no issue with battery i mean
it runs 5h easily when doing normal tasks and 2h with medium gaming

Do you know something about the display panel used in 2021 Nitros, especially 15,6 inch? In 2020 version of the 15,6 inch there was a really bad panda-panel used. Only the 17 inch had a good panel.

I have recently Acer Nitro 5, it is worth it, and better than other gaming laptops. You save lots of money and don't pay for the brand as you do with razor, hp or apple. You get more horse power for every buck you spend

Hey man, have you tested battery life yet? I know it's a 55Wh but I just wanted to know first hand what you got while doing gaming/media consumption/everyday browsing/etc. That would be very helpful
I remember hearing it only lasted about 2 hours gaming, as the battery is one of things they cut back on to save money. It'll last longer just daily use, but it's not really meant to be run off battery all the time.
I have the previous model of this with the 3550H and the RX 560X and absolutely love it.
And btw... I personally love the red, its my favorite color and being a Chiefs fan, it works well for me.
I need the same with a 3060 at $999 as limit cost.
There is still some red, even a tad it's too damn much!

Mathhew , i have an acer nitro 5 2020 , rtx 2060 , i7-10750h , 144hz display , same design as this one when it comes to the charging port and fans and stuff , did i make a mistake by buyung it and not waiting for the rtx 30 series
