I'm seeing the same pattern all over. Lots of 50+yr olds healthy like myself but with high LdL and being recommended statins!
Pretty clear now we need to stay strong and refuse them. I mentioned Malhotra to my nhs advisor, her response was"there's a reason he's not working for the nhs! Yes you're damn right. He doesn't toe the line on this or on the vaccine. Well done Assem, another man of integrity.

@@danielpickess2027 I used to follow a female GP on Twitter (I won’t name her but she’s often on tv in UK) & one day she was singing the praises of statins so I commented on the work of Dr Aseem Malhotra & how I’d learnt how vital cholesterol is & also how the drug companies fund the research & misrepresent statistics to suit their needs. She told me I was sadly misinformed. Needless to say I don’t follow her anymore or anyone promoting this stuff. They’re all bought & paid for by Big Pharma which has totally destroyed my trust in doctors who just push pills & don’t try to get to the route of the problem. No critical thinking, just follow the protocols. Thankfully there are some good health professionals out there & I am so much more educated than before thanks to people like Dr Aseem.

It's sad that we can watch presentations like this and understand that statins don't work as advertised. Yet some docs are still adamant that we get total cholesterol down below 200, no matter what the cost to our overall health, and pressure patients to take statins.

It's only dangerous if your HDL goes low. High LDL is not an issue if HDL is high too. If it drops there's a problem. But easy to fix. Dead cheap high dose Niacin B3 fixes it within 40 days. But you must withstand the flushing effect cos it works immediately and causes vasodilation which is a great thing but if you're unaware of this effect you might panic and think you're having an allergic reaction. You go all red cos blood rushes to the surface to fix everything that needs fixed. It only lasts 30mins to an hour max and it stops happening once the body starts healing. But you must stick to it. Mine cost literally 8 euro and I started on 500mg a day. But the study I read which healed all participants in 41 days used 1500. But I was flushing so much didn't think I could handle that dose. Took 500 for a week now I've upped it to 1000mg so a gram. Also makes me look like a baby cos it increases NAD. I already looked very young but now I literally look like a teenager. Incredible stuff which of course is not promoted by doctors even though it was the traditional medical therapy for high cholesterol and vascular issues up until statins made it to market and doctors all promptly forgot. Good luck

Thanks for this. I'm so healthy at 52, lean, really fit, I eat a very clean diet of meat, fruit, vegetables, dairy, fairly low carbohydrates, so little processed food at all. Even though everything is good, my doc said I need to take statins to lower my LDL. I don't want them & I need every bit of this information you're giving to confirm that I'm doing the right thing by refusing because it's anxiety provoking to go against the doctors advice right? The last thing I want to do is harm myself of course, but I feel I really don't need statins and that there is nothing wrong with me at all, apart from a number on the doctors computer screen.

Retired physician here: statins side-effects include memory loss, muscle pain, increase in all-cause mortality. Dr Malhotra has an excellent lecture on why an angiogram with the idea of placing ‘preventative’ stents do not decrease your risk of suffering a heart attack. A high LDL by itself ( depending on how high, of course) does not mean that much. What is your TG and what is your HDL. HDL should be high. TG should be low.

I was put on statins 5 years ago age 60 but couldn’t tolerate the side effects, mostly muscle aches for me which was affecting quality of life so I came off them after 6 months, with the approval of my GP surprisingly! Knowing what I know now about relative risk reduction vs absolute risk reduction, which I was never told about and also just how vital cholesterol actually is which again is never spoken about by the great majority of doctors, I would never take them again. After the initial 2 months of carb addiction withdrawal symptoms my 3 month experiment with meat, eggs, fat and dairy only is now almost a year and not going back. Blood pressure down, resting heart rate mid 50's brain clarity improved energy levels through the roof, sleep better and age 64 so for me personally my experiment is now for ever. Better for me and better for the planet with beef from a local regenerative farm.

I had an AF attack last year after a very stressful 15 months and a night out with very little sleep.
I'd had palpitations the whole year before this AF and believed I was overworked and have always slept real badly since working nightshifts. I knew I was so run down. Anyway my bsl was fine and BP was fine also.
    My ldl was 5.2
My heart, kidney and liver are all fine.
My cardiologist put me on heart rhythm and blood thinners and also the Statin, which I already knew off. I took the Statin for 8 months and got the side effects; muscle stiffness and pain every day, fatigue and slight diarrhea.
I started reading more on the benefits of taking statins and was shocked to see the damage they do to healthy functioning organs and the fact that the risk
rate of heart attack/stroke isn't worth the pain or the long term side effects. I read as much as I can. I eat a healthy diet and I'm now ldl 5
I'd rather live healthier than take a horrid pill. I'm 60

@@l.w.paradis2108Orthodox also are supposed to fast Wednesday and Friday, every week (no oil, no meat, no dairy) the money saved was to be given to the poor. It has nothing to do with veganism and health benefits are accidental. Fasting is to practice suffering and dedicate that suffering to Christ, to embrace hardship for the sake of our common man. Definitely needed qualities in today’s hedonistic world. Not consuming any animal products will always end in some kind of disfunction for most adults and is the reason that children in the poorest countries suffer the most malnutrition deformities.

@findingthereal9052 Actually, I don't think the health benefits are entirely accidental. I think culture evolves in these directions for more than one reason. Of course, fish is also a fasting food, and until the oceans got polluted with heavy metals, fish was very beneficial for growing children. In any case, really young kids were never required to fast, to my knowledge. Or expectant mothers, for that matter.
It's interesting that no major religion says it is all right to eat any red (mammalian) meat, in any quantity, at any time, and in combination with any other food. Poultry and fish are usually regarded differently, but a few .extend the prohibition to those as well. This is fascinating stuff.

My total cholesterol has gone up from 220 to 431 (ldl is 327) since starting a new medication (in 4 months). The medicine works great but now my doctor wants to add a statin. I really dont want to since my HDL is 88 and Triglycerides are 60. Is there a reason to add a statin if I cant get off this necessary medication (keeps me out of the hospital)? Hate when drugs cause these side effects because I dont want a heart attack either!

So many people are needlessly afraid of statins, I have been on atorvastatin for 2 years for raised LDL which is genetic in my case. I wish I'd had the opportunity to start it earlier rather than let my blood vessels marinade in atheroma for 20 years since it was first tested. Doctors commonly ignore bad cholesterol results in young women so we really do need to be educated and be our own advocate. Lifestyle is absolutely important for so many reasons but won't change hereditary cholesterol conditions any more than it will change the colour of your eyes.

High cholesterol might be caused by damaged blood vessels on the outer surface of arteries. These vessels supply blood for the arteries and when nourishment stops in an area the cells below that area also die off and release cholesterol from their cell membranes which eventually reaches on the inner wall of arteries. Even if statins worked perfectly it wouldn’t solve the problem why blood vessels are damaged in the first place. That’s my theory anyway

My parents were recently placed in hospice from dementia and advanced cardiovascular diseases. There was nothing else to do, so we did the traditional removal of medications that would do no more good. We stopped their statins and their minds cleared considerably. Extraordinary effect on the brain. They're mentally like they were years ago!
In my own experience, I follow what this doctor recommends: a low carb Mediterranean diet. I have NONE of the metabolic syndrome markers or effects my parents had at the same age.
However, I am heartbroken at his anti-vaccine stance, which I only just discovered. Contracting Covid brings a MUCH higher likelihood of cardiovascular events than the vaccine. And in the US, since most people have contracted Covid, the vaccine has been found to be CV protective.
