I might shed a few tears of joy when Ryu beats this challenge.
I'm probably going to legit cry if I miss the stream when it happens!

Whilst celebrations will most certainly abound upon Mr, Ryu's eventual success, no matter how far out it may be. I for one have and will continue to enjoy this journey with him until its eventual end. Thank you Mr. Ryu for suffering for the content and making it an enjoyable experience for us all.
In a previous one of these I commented that Ryu has a 51-52% first try clear rate in expert which would put his chances of success at about 1 in 40000.
However I went back and checked and his clear rate improves dramatically after stage one to 63%, which means once he gets past stage one, he has a much less horrible 1 in 1000 chance of finishing that run!
Weird! I would have guessed a particular level in a run has an independent probability. I guess ryu is more careless with first levels!

His chance of success changes though to about 1 in a million when you consider how popular his streams are when he does this and people throw obscene amounts of money at him.

Pretty known SMM1 creator made multiple "frame perfect" levels (i.e. 20 second level finish at 19.985 at best), along with a few pretty tough puzzle levels.
Do you ever wonder if Yoshi thinks "get off me, fat ass" after Mario swallows a mushroom and gets bigger while riding him? 😎
I think Ryu and SimpleFlips doing a Mario Maker 1 race would be fun and chaotic.

How did you get levels on Super Mario Maker 1..? I thought they shut down services.
You just can't upload new courses. All existing levels and game modes can still be played afaik
