  • Taking a look at the 2024 Tenere 700. Yamaha has made some small but important changes to the 2024 model.
    L.E.D. Turn signals all around the bike, aside from the license plate light bulb.
    New digital display with control wheel on the handle bar.
    ABS. You can turn off front, or front and rear ABS for off-road riding.

    Bought the exact same bike 3 weeks ago. Subbed and cant wait how we both end up enjoying our new bike. Greetings from Greece.

    Yamaha did a great job with the tft dash. Triumph should take notice and come up with something similar for the Tiger 900. The two changes I wish Yamaha would make are a hinged fuel cap and tubeless wheels...

    Such a cool bike and top of my want list. Aftermarket is great and it does purr like a kitten. Good video man, enjoy it 🤘🏻

    Was looking at the Tenere 700, now I'm moving closer to an Aprilia dealer.. might go for the Tuareg 660. We'll see. Gotta ride them both.

      I haven’t riden the Tuareg. It’s seems like a solid bike as well.

    Just picked up a 24. Added the quickshifter, love it. Keeping my 23 KLR though!😂😂

      That’s awesome. I loved my KLR but I had to trade it in to get the T 7. I’ve been eying that quick shifter. I bet that’s fun.

      @Nickdoingwork worth it in my opinion. $200 accessory and an easy install.

    Nice rig! I just upped from a KLR to a Transalp and I find a lot more similarities between those two than these two. I’m an 80/20 year round rider but also live in the Rockies so I’m really looking forward to a modern midsize for next season. Super jealous of your app. Enjoy the ride!

    It seems on the '24 that the rear shock has been changed from the previous models, even though that has not been mentioned anywhere I have looked, including in the owner's manual. On my new 2024 Standard US spec Tenere 700, the owner's manual says the Compression (top screw) has 18 clicks with 15 being the factory setting. However my shock only has 13 clicks of adjustment from stop to stop. It was set from the factory at 6 clicks out. The Rebound (bottom screw) met the specs in the owner's manual.
    I would be interested to hear how yours checks out if you are so inclined. Thanks.

      I’ll check the rear shock. I adjusted it per another page’s recommendations but I don’t remember exactly how many clicks

    So jealous of the TFT and app! The crossbar above the dash is perfect for using the Quadlock mirror stem mount.
    If you find yourself wanting more bar height I have an Altrider riser kit I took off mine you can have.

    • @Socaladv
      @Socaladv  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Tft is pretty cool. Leaps and bounds more interesting than the bushpig was, lol. I might have to check out those risers, so far it seems comfy.

    Really like the T7. Very tempted to get one. Too bad there is no cruise control. How's the standing position at 6=2? We're about the same height. Congratulations!

    • @Socaladv
      @Socaladv  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you! The bars came with risers installed and a nice bend. I think they will work well for my height. I may roll them forward a bit.

      @@Socaladv I have a 2023 T7, spent tons of time offroad with it. Fun indeed! I also rolled the bars are bit forward. @2bikes_1journey9 I installed the Atlas throttle lock on mine. It's not true cruise control but still a big improvement.

    • @Socaladv
      @Socaladv  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I had the atlas on my last bike. Do you feel like it makes the throttle a little less snappy? Maybe it was my install

    • @mikeckennedy
      @mikeckennedy 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey@@Socaladv no problem like that for me. It's got a lot of slack between the binding part so it snaps right back on my T7. Definitely not a perfect solution, but good for grinding it out to the dirt.

    • @Socaladv
      @Socaladv  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I may need to give mine a little more adjustment I removed it because I felt like it was holding up the throttle return

    I have to ask, as a harley rider I have been looking for months now for something in the ADV market. What is your opinion (since you rode this) of it being for someone who has no interest or experience off road? I'm a tall guy so the ADV bikes seem a like a good choice and I don't really want to get a GS size bike. My only uses for this are local riding, and touring (day trips interstate travel) nothing crazy but I won't plan to go off roading as no one that rides with me has these bikes, we're all cruiser riders currently.

    • @Socaladv
      @Socaladv  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Honestly I think you would like something with a bit of better wind coverage. The t7 is definitely an adv bike but I noticed that my KLR 650 was better at blocking wind noise. I have since gotten better ear plugs and a different windshield. But I worry that plus the narrow seat, make the t7 more suited for some road some Offroad with its strong points in both categories. However, it is amazing to ride. Maybe try to do a test ride!

    Or like in old model you need to off ABS again??
