Now, three years after my first reaction, I watched this video again. And it stroke my heart again. I learned to play this piece myself by watching the video and studying the original score of Rameau. I made my own transcription from this source and after having watched other interpretations. Now finally, after having studied many hours over a period of three years, I can play this music on my guitar. I am so grateful for being able to play this now. Thank you very much, Rafael. Please continue playing beautiful music on your guitar. ❤
Yes, I agree these videos are great, and are learning tools too. For me they're helping me with figure out some positions on the Villa Lobos etudes that I wouldn't have otherwise found.
this is what you wrote about Bertram Burkert's rendition for some 4 years ago "@theothomassen6066" (A splendid arrangement of this masterpiece. And so wonderfully played by this young guitarist.). which one do you prefer? both interpretations are magnificent, but i personally listen more often to Bertram's.
While I love his interpretation of Rameau's "Les Sauvages", I find his interpretation on this just a little bit overly-romantic, especially for the period.
His incredible technique and musicianship got me hook onto every note in this beautiful transcription of the great master Rameau. I like the delicate touch, tone and clarity of the notes, in particular those trills play across two or three strings. Superb performance!

Inspired by the lute technic... Descending arpeggios on 3 strings (or more) with i and m. The i gently scrub the strings very fast and immediatly the m does the same thing. Very good choice on the guitar.
Rameau is such an underrated composer... The playing here is so beautiful, no doubt Raphaël Feuillâtre is the future of classical guitar !
He feels every note - he is not just playing/operating the instrument. Amazing. I loved every note. THANK YOU Raphael for sharing your art.

The playing is so sensitive, i love this guitarist. Bravo !
A truly musical guitarist... playing stylistically for the period. What a revelation and inspiration this young man is !
While I love his interpretation of Rameau's "Les Sauvages", I find his interpretation on this just a little bit overly-romantic, especially for the period.
This guy is beast. He is the new Barruecos, Russell of our times. God bless you man

@@robieordogh1784 beast is like a slang way of saying ‘really good’
eg. look at him go out there, he is such a beast!
@@xenomuller7322 thx for the explanation:)
Nice to hear a guitarist that makes you forget about the guitar and invites you to hear the music. Poetic.
This guitar is just beautiful! But it’s the magic of guitarist to make it sound good!
This guy is phenomenal. He is in a league of his own.

That is how to play the guitar. I can recommend his Naxos CD, and there are plenty of other videos out there. Sublime.
Some of those trills just sound incredible - so clean and accurate.
Sometimes I get tired of classical music, but with this playing it is impossible. Great job!
