- In this video, I share my experience on a tropical organic permaculture farm and food forest on the Big Island of Hawaii with Ancient Valley Growers. They're a production farm, so I share what they're growing, how they're doing it organically on a larger scale, and the many animals they keep. Their garden is only two years old! I also share the other things I did, places I explored, and adventures I had in Hawaii. The island life is truly magical, so much energy and mystery there.

Aside from a few raised garden beds in the past, I have never done anything like this before on this scale. I'm learning as I go along, but am sharing my love and enthusiasm for deeply connecting with nature, growing my own food, and living more sustainably.
I garden the NAKED way. I don't use any herbicides, pesticides, or chemicals, and that carries through in every other aspect of my life as well - from the type of products I use, the food I eat, and the environment I keep. I also soak up the sun and let the earth touch my skin as often as possible ;)

Andrea is a woman with mad skills in every way that counts!! Not many like her. My hat is off to her!!!!
Did Matt tell you why he felt he needed to be packing?
Curious about that too. Dangerous animals on the loose?
They have a lot of wild boar there that their dogs have had some close calls with. He carries for their protection.

Thank you for this video. I know what you mean about. There’s something about that island that I love so much! I am from Los Angeles and we have family on the island they live in Hawaiian paradise Park so we’re probably not far away from the couple that invited you to their farm. I love that island so much I had to buy myself a egg in is still a lot. I haven’t built on it yet but one day I will, but all I can say is I am happy. I have a little piece of that island. Well, I hope this makes sense. Enjoy this video from Los Angeles but I am always going back-and-forth to visit family and last Felice you showed my sister-in-law‘s aunt at the end of the video at the farmers market in Hilo. mahalo.🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

Beautiful farm and family. Inspiration for our small Mountain View homestead.🤙
Thanks for taking us along on this adventure. Kudos to these folks and the apparent passion they show in the life they choose and share. A beautiful episode in many ways. ✌🏼
Shout out to Farmer Matt and his Clan. Much love from the Piss Army. I work on a small organic, no till farm and would love to go work for Matt!
Instead of using concrete block, cement stone together.
Looks like a lot of work for a vacation! Thanks for sharing.
Mike what is happening to the RSS feeds over at OBDM?
Mike doesn’t run this so you’ll have to ask him at obdm 😉 Those first few days were a bit busy, then we had time to relax and beach bum it. That’s when vacation really kicked in lol!
Whats the threat to have a sidearm?
Why was that man packing a gun?
Protecting his animals from predators.
Poor chickens and roosters. To be killed and consumed by your caregiver is such a betrayal.
Chickens aren't vegans also,. they'll eat anything they can kill
I have a hard time with that too and couldn’t do it, but many have different ways of living and being. For some, this is a way of life.
they are farmers, not pet care givers and their life and livelyhood depends greatly on those animals....
Thank you for your comment and compassion. Leaving aside atrocities that people commit upon one another, which do eventually end, the greatest moral atrocity being committed in the world is the enslavement and murder of animals, which continues century after century. It's horrible, whether on the factory farm or on this "humane" farm. Man is not civilized for as long as the murder and consumption of animals continue. Meat and dairy are murder..
@@thenakedgardener_official It's Auschwitz every day for animal-agriculture animals, with in factory farms or on this "humane" permaculture farm. There is no humane way to kill an animal. That this is a "way of life" for some does not justify it. Humans are not more important than animals. Can't put lipstick on the stench of death.
