    Thanks for reviewing such an interesting bag from one of my (and your) favorite bag makers. I could not imagine one-bagging with this. I have not dialed in my carry that much. I do it in a 40L GR2, but that is a much much bigger bag. I filled this bag just with my gym stuff tonight. Full size towel + clothes + size 13 shoes + ipad + notebook + water bottle + dopp pretty much filled it. Have a great trip!

    Thanks for making a video of this bag. I also purchased the Miur and I feel the look is slowly growing on me. In the beginning its anti-climactic getting it out of the shipping box. It's all squished and compressed. After filling up the bag and rocking a nice black outfit, the Miur starts shining. With the bag filled with my loadout chilling on the couch at home or next to me at the cafe, it feels hella slick and nimble. Between the Goruck X Carryology Dyneema GR1 and the Trakke Miur, I enjoy the Trakke more for its utility. Also debated on getting a Rofmia Shift Pack or Backpack v2 at one point. The Rofmia rolltop would definitely have more capacity. It wouldn't have Cobra Buckles but the Rofmia Backpack v2 does have Fidlock Push Buckles. New iteration of Rofmia's packs have some leather sprinkled now. I wish the Miur had a little bit of leather accenting on the handle or somewhere throughout the bag although I'm sure it would add cost and more weight. I wouldn't care about the weight but to each their own. Rofmia Rolltop Backpack v2 has 35L capacity @ 1.83 lbs / 0.83 kgs. Miur is 23-24L combined sling + backpack @ 3.3 lbs / 1.5 kgs. Rofmia appears less structured and is light due to using less interior lining throughout.
    It's very functional. Only thing its missing is a luggage pass through strap. I'm debating whether or not to keep this my over my Tumi Alpha Bravo Japan Edition Coated Canvas Logistics. Went through a Japanese proxy to purchase the bag lol. I owned the Phoenix Collection, Mystery Ranch Dragon, and Goruck Kaidan Collection at one point. I currently still have the Manhattan Portage x Carryology Konbu Messenger. I got the Trakke because of the 2 in 1 design and Cobra Buckle Fidlock Combo. Sternum Strap for a bag this light is unneeded imo. The Muir's capacity is on par with the Herschel Little America (24-25L) which was my first ever nice bag back in the day. The weight is fair imo. I like my Miur, its simple and minimal. I dislike the Trakke Zipper pulls and wished they opted for longer leather pullers. While a part of me would get bolt cutters and remove the zipper pulls to replace with Heat shrink Paracord, part of me thinks it would impact the resell value lol. I don't think I'd one bag travel with the Miur. It's more of a functional EDC to me. I would rock the Miur with a nice rolling luggage suitcase as a carry-on combo. Backpack would be on me at all times while chilling at the airport. Suitcase by my side.
    One thing I do notice is the sling is quite easy to detach. Thankfully they have the g-hook strap to secure it. I leave the G-Hook retention strap unused for the most part to quickly have the sling on the go. It is nice to leave the Trakke backpack in the back of a Toyota Rav 4 and go sling mode for really light venturing.
    The Miur had a nice orange version which I am sure will resell for a lot on the secondhand market lmfao. Funny enough, one could swap out the Orange and Black versions between each other. Orange Sling + Black Backpack, Black Sling + Orange Backpack switcharoo mix and matching.
    One can easily get a Fidlock V Buckle Split bar for the sternum strap. The female end can go easily on the backpack due to the split bar. The male end can be custom sewn at a shoe repair shop replacing the G-Hook on the stock chest strap.

      Hey Johnny, thanks for that write up. You bring out some awesome points. It’s true, the bag is growing on me, and I feel that it’s a versatile piece that can meld into a number of situations. It didn’t make the cut for this specific trip, but it definitely has its place in my collection and how I use each one of my packs.

    Thanks for the video. What about material durability? Is it worn out after a year? Did you use it a lot?

    • @ofthetraveler
      @ofthetraveler  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good questions, I’ve taken this bag on four multi-week overseas trips and one long domestic trip; so far I’ve noticed no issue with the material at all aside from those spots of shininess I mention in the video. It’s not worn out at all, although, I will say that it does have a sense of wrinkling to it that is typical of this sort of material. If you’re worried about durability, I think based on my use so far, this is at least a ten-year bag.

      Hmmm thanks for the tip. I actually had folks tell me the sounds was quite good since the mic is right on my lapel. I’ll make an effort to improve the sound.
      Funny that you mention ecopak looking cheap. I feel the same way with Dyneema. The ecopak in person, looks like a fine weave, although the sound it makes isn’t the most appealing.
      The more that makers use ecopak and as the tech improves, it’s possible you’ll come around? Maybe not, I still hate Dyneema lol

    Great review! Just got mine - for me, getting the sternum strap unhooked is brutal and almost makes me hate the bag. What was Trakke thinking?

    • @ofthetraveler
      @ofthetraveler  ปีที่แล้ว

      I really appreciate the kind words.
      That’s a tough one for me because latching the sternum strap should be fast. I imagine they had these G-Hooks already in stock and it saved them on having to purchase additional fidlocks.
      It’s possible that over time the slot the hook goes into loosens up a tiny bit for faster operation.
