For the car ones. What was the post editing like to keep the car centered in the shot? I thought deep tracking would work but didn't for me

What is the song name you use in video
For a more even rotation around the car You could mount the selfie stick swivel to the suction cup. Extend the selfie stick and attach fishing line to the camera and walk it around by pulling the camera like an elephant you ride at a carnival. Or just give the stick a fast spin like a merry go round and step away!

I really loved the around the car trick. Do you use premier to post process 360 footage or is it using the app or desktop studio?
I tried to edit footage using premiere the export quality looks terrible. I am curious to know your workflow. Thanks for the tutorial!

That's awesome!! SO many cool ideas, I only noticed that the quality is not that great with the spin show it's kinda low res is that normal how it comes out every time?
It isn't as good on TH-cam as it is straight of the camera. TH-cam compresses the video a lot.

Hey Luke, you mentioned in one of your videos that you can actually make a 4K bullet time video by just rotating the camera as you would normally but just using the 4k/50fps mode. Now I'm curious as to how you'd make it work: do you use smart tracking in the mobile app afterwards to make sure you're always at the center of the frame?
If you're using the app when you're looking at one of your video clips tap in the top right-hand corner on the three little dots. Then turn on directional lock. Then if you point the view of the camera towards the center of the rotation it will keep that orientation. You can also do this on PC as well. Great question, thanks for asking. have fun!

Hi Luke. My Insta360 1R camera tends to shutdown after 20 minutes recording in 360 mode. It gets extremely hot. Have you ever faced this problem?
No I haven't but that is probably only because I rarely ever run my cameras for that long in one sitting. Seems like a lot of cameras are overheating these days, not just insta360. I think it's just what we should expect for camera as they are getting more and more powerful but yet packed into smaller and smaller bodies. I've had problems with my DSLR cameras not wanting to run for long periods of time as well.
@Luke Edwin I just updated to the latest firmware as of September 2020. Release Date: 2020-09-14. Version: v1.2.16. Upgrading the firmware seems to have finally solved the "overheating until forced shutdown" problem.

I like your ideas, but I don’t like the quality of the actual 360 footage of your one R....
I’m currently looking for a new actioncam... I like the 360 idea. And I like the special tricks you can easily do with the app... But I really don’t like the quality or the colors (although colors could be adapted afterwards)....
so I don’t really know if I would use the 360 that often. I think it would be a nice gimmick to play with in the beginnen. But I fear it won’t be used much after a few months due to the low quality....
And if I’m going to use only the regular actioncam, I’m leaning towards the new GoPro 9...
(I’m using a GoPro 6 atm)
It all depends on your stile of filming. It is a cool camera but it is one of mini cameras that I own. it has its place and purpose but I wouldn't want it if I could only have one camera.
thank you - just received my insta360 one r - twin edition a few days ago. unfortunately my phones are not compatible with it, so sending it back to insta360 in southern california and they will update and ship the unit back to me. i can live with that. gave you a thumb up rating for posting it. be safe and bye from san francisco. Your engine is knocking. I would get that checked. Sounds like a diesel.
Haha yeah the audio in that clip was actually taken from a different part of the video where the car was idling so that's not actually how it sounds when it's moving. It usually runs a little rough when you first start it up and then it'll clear up

As a pilot and an insufferable pedant, I have to point out that this isn’t a barrel-roll (which is a very specific manoeuvre which is said to trace a path as if following the inside of an old wooden casket, it’s not just a roll). This would be an aileron-roll or an inline-twist.
I tried this with my 10' stick and Insta360 One X and the stick snapped at the base and scrarched the lensesof my camera. Insta360 did replace everything free of charge but I'm afraid to try it again.

Awesome tips, I will try and experiment with those ideas. Here is an idea, trace your steps with the fish line then do it without the fish line.
why not just make a cardboard airplane, tie it to the fishing line, mount the camera to the plane and throw it?
