Yes, the inventory can vary so much. Even in my area, there are 3 stores I visit often, and the inventory can be so different in stores that are only a few miles apart.
I got a chuckle out of this... was out for dinner and on the way home just happened to pull into Home Depot. My wife looks at me and says, "You've been watching Steph again, haven't you?" Seline is a wonderful, easy perennial with lots of color. Blooms with my tulips and pheasant narcissus to make a beautiful match. I've divided mine each year and have them all over my gardens for a great impact. You would love them. Thanks again for the tour.
Steph, i love when you do a walk through at big box stores. You always give the best information, i love your beautiful gardens. You and your husband work so very hard, and really has paid off. I love your channel. And thank for tellingbus all the plants that are deer resistant. I need all the help in can get.❤
Oh thank you for this information. I'm trying to just grow lupine from a seed packet. So far I have 5 or 6 baby plants coming up. Hopefully they take hold and bloom in a year or 2. 😊
Yes, absolutely. My moms self seed pretty well. I collected a couple of seeds from my parents garden and I'm growing them using the winter sowing method this year. Thank you so much for sharing! 🌱
Hi! Previously Zone 4b/now 5a. I have 3 Clifford Moor Silene...they have varigated foliage & pinkish purple flowers, I LOVE them. I bought them 3 weeks ago at Home Depot, so I will see how they perform, but they are a new favorite. I have lots of Walker's Low Nepeta I bought last year & I LOVE them. I didn't need to deadhead them & they bloomed from May-Oct/Nov. They filled in the bare spots & were a work horse in my garden. I will be buying more & will try propagating them. Thank you for great content! I always get excited when you post a new video. I was "hooked" on your channel when I saw your May 2022 garden tours! I look forward to more!
Was the Clifford Moor Silene, the one that Steph showed us and wanted to know if anyone had planted and how it did. Did she say it bloomed kinda like creepy phlox? If it was I'm going to have to try it. It was so beautiful. I bet yours is going to be beautiful. 😊
You sincerely have some incredible "box" stores near you! Our selections are so limited here. Thank you so much for sharing. It is always very enjoyable to watch! ❤
Last year I purchased two of the Rolly's Favorite silene, which bloomed all season with deadheading. I recently divided the two plants and now have six. They're great for the front of the border.
Oh so glad you showed I did decide to take a trip to my Home Depot but was disappointed on what they had . So I decided to go to Lowe’s and wow I was excited to find they did have a large selection plants but I was more excited to find some sea thrift the daydream at my Lowe’s I found three and bought them all lol I have been on the looks out for these since you had showed them last spring 😊wish I could have got more 🤷🏻♀️ but I did buy a few other plants
Hi Steph. Excited to check out which Proven Winners quart size perennials my Home Depot has. As you always say, these smaller containers will make it much easier to plant. Thanks for this video 💚
Hey Steph! Thank you for posting these videos! Love hearing about your tips and experiences! ❤ My hyacinths finally bloomed last week here in Buffalo, NY. This year I’m hoping to find a lil ditty viburnum by proven winners. And a couple coneflowers.
I was at our local Home Depot today and they did not have near as much as your store. I guess I'll have to make another trip next week and see if they put out more stock. Your store is great!!
Hi Linda! They all carry different stock, and some stores are better than others. I regularly visit about 3 and while they have many of the same plants, there are many that differ from store to store. I love to visit different nurseries and garden centers in my travels away from home. Perhaps there's one a bit further out from you that you might be able to visit if your heading away from home sometime. Happy gardening 🌱
I always enjoy your big box garden center tours. However, I think we have become immune to the price increases. I’m so happy that I started many perennial seeds and annual seeds instead of purchasing them at nurseries.
I wasn’t going to watch this video because I didn’t want to be tempted to go to Home Depot but I love your videos Steph! Now I’m seeing quart size PW plants for under$8.00, are you KIDDING ME?!? That’s AMAZING! I will have to check out my local Home Depot now and see if they will have the same thing! Especially excited to see if they have the Coraljade sedum since that is the #1 perennial on my most wanted list🥰
Curious what HD you found these Proven Winner 1 qt perennials. Went to local HD store (Paramus NJ), they had one...dianthus. I asked if they can request more varieties in the 1qt size. Was told they get what they get. Agree, prices have increased so these smaller plants are a nice way to test them in your garden. Love your videos, thanks for sharing.
Hi Gina, this HD was in Southern Massachusetts. You may want to try calling a few local (to you) HDs to see if any in your area carry the 1qt size. Thanks for watching.
Hi Steph, I visited 2 other HD's in my area. Neither had the PW 1 qt perennials, only annuals. I spoke to the Garden center mgr at one store. He said they do not/cannot order; they receive what their network of growers has available to ship. Suggested stopping in frequently as the assortment this time of year changes rapidly. These low-priced plants are loss leaders for them. Designed to get you in and buy other items. I guess it's about being in the right place at the right time. Happy gardening
Hi Stef💐. Really appreciate that Proven Winners and Monrovia are offering smaller sizes!. I want to grow everything!!! 🌱🌱🌱. Gardening in containers on a balcony Squeezing in a smaller rootball …. Priceless 👩🌾 Garden zone 9b California… space is at a premium and yards if ANY are getting smaller and smaller
How exciting that they have quart size proven winners plants, that's excellent! Definitely more affordable and easier to plant. They'll grow in no time.
I've noticed that my local HD is finally getting better selection. I feel like since the pandemic the inventory was off for a while. This year the big box stores seem to be getting more of their inventory back in.
That’s good news about the PV quart size. Aside from the price, digging a smaller hole in my extremely rocky soil will be much easier. I avoid the bigger sizes because it is such a chore to plant them in my garden.
bergenia, a plant I want, nice, cat pajama is pretty too, I planted russian sage last year a small plant I hope they come back so pretty and smells so good, i am trying to get many plants for shade or part shade like pinkablue lung wort,
I agree, the Bergenia was pretty! Reminded me of the leaves on the begonias, the shiny texture and look of them. Lungwort (pulmonaria) is wonderful! I love it in my garden. I hope you find some! 🌱
Hi Step thank you so much for always making this great tours/ I love your channel. Can you share where is your store locate I'm MA as well but my HD does not have thus great selection. Thank you
thank you for sharing with us. enjoyed the video, i need to go to home depot now. i would like to get one of the bleeding hearts. i did have one but i lost it. i'll try again.
Hello! Not at this store, but in my last home depot video, there were some Proven Winners hydrangeas: th-cam.com/video/LVuq6TnBMgg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=UMzg6NFQ7oxlaUNv
Hi there, I have some cool weather annuals that I grew from seed (pansies & allysum), that I will plant out this weekend. As for warm weather annuals (petunias, geraniums, etc.) I will wait until sometime between mothers day and memorial day. I'll keep an eye on the forecast for frost to make we don't get any more before I plant them out.
Hi Anita! I do occasionally but I can't say I remember to do it every year. If I do, I use either espoma bulb tone, or plant tone. I have found the thing that helps them bloom best, is 1. not having the rhizome planted too deeply, and dividing them after a few years as the clump gets larger. Hope this helps. 🌱
There are many of us in the northern states that experience temperatures like this. I’m glad that there are perennials that will survive our winters or we wouldn’t be able to enjoy any perennials.
I wish Home Depot & Lowe’s would sell different plants - especially perrentials - u seem to have the same plants every year -I live near Denver Colorado ..why not get Colorado type plants …???
Most workers do not know NOTHING about plants! It’s better to do your homework before you shop or look it up on google!! The HD hires ppl with zero experience to mainly clean & water , also to restock but yeah don’t rely on the workers for help lol
Wow. Homedepot Puerto Rico has nothing. Very very very small selection and no proven winners. I guess pr is too far. How luck to have all this at your back door for a beautiful garden. Complainig a bit bit happy to,have homedepot here period ❤️
Hi Garden Friends, Here's my Amazon Store Where You Can Find Many of My Favorite Garden Items
👉 amzn.to/49F9RTU
I work for Bell Nursery merchandising at a Home Depot here in Michigan zone 6b, and I'm very surprised at how different of a selection yr store gets.
Yes, the inventory can vary so much. Even in my area, there are 3 stores I visit often, and the inventory can be so different in stores that are only a few miles apart.

It was a great find!! A wonderful option for us.

Thanks Linda! They were both so pretty 🌱
Hi Stef🌺 . I enjoyed alot this beautiful tour and I will look for some plants that you showed us . Have a great day .🌺🌻🌺
Thanks so much Lina, Hope you have a great day! 😊
In order to propagate Lupins,do it by spreading your dry seeds. You will have new plants the following year, and lots of it. Good luck Steph!
Oh thank you for this information. I'm trying to just grow lupine from a seed packet. So far I have 5 or 6 baby plants coming up. Hopefully they take hold and bloom in a year or 2. 😊

Wonderful! Its always fun to divide our plants and get more plants! Thank you for sharing your experience with Silene.
Dianthus are carnations Steph. Thank you for the tour
Lupine are one of my favourite plants. I winter sow the seeds easily!!
Oh so glad you showed I did decide to take a trip to my Home Depot but was disappointed on what they had . I hope you find them near you also Michelle! It was a fun find!
Headed to HD this afternoon before weekend rush! I need 8 Cats Pajamas Nepeta and a few other evergreens. May pickup a gardenia on standard 😊❤
Always exciting to see garden center tours!!!!

This was helpful as I forgot the name of the calabrachoas i planted earlier
Thanks for the tour and all of the great information. Nice to hear personal accounts of the successes.
I always enjoy your big box garden center tours. However, I think we have become immune to the price increases. I’m so happy that I started many perennial seeds and annual seeds instead of purchasing them at nurseries.
Thank you so much! I know what you mean, it so true, everything is so much more now, including our plants 😔🌱

I agree, I found that to be wonderful. So happy it works well for you also. Its fun that you can enjoy gardening on your balcony 🌱💚
Dead Nettle is so invasive where I live in West Virginia. It grows everywhere.
Thanks for sharing, so jealous my homedepot here in western MA, has hardly any plants, the same with Lowe’s
How exciting that they have quart size proven winners plants, that's excellent! Definitely more affordable and easier to plant. They'll grow in no time.
I totally agree! 💚
I've noticed that my local HD is finally getting better selection. I feel like since the pandemic the inventory was off for a while. This year the big box stores seem to be getting more of their inventory back in.

Bergenia!! My favorite. Hard to find in my tiny town Humboldt county. 😪 Happy Gardening 💚🌿
Great your Steph😊
So many amazing plants. I’m heading to my Home Depot today! Im sure we won’t have all the Proven Winners. It’s really hard to get in California.
Hi Kristine! I know it seems in CA your closer to Monrovia plants. I hope you find some fun plants! 🌱
🌳Fantastic 🌳
Hi Step thank you so much for always making this great tours/ I love your channel. Can you share where is your store locate I'm MA as well but my HD does not have thus great selection. Thank you

Did you see any PW hydrangeas?
Hello! Not at this store, but in my last home depot video, there were some Proven Winners hydrangeas: th-cam.com/video/LVuq6TnBMgg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=UMzg6NFQ7oxlaUNv
Which location Home Depot was this I would love to get the proven winners Miss Piggy plant for my urn planter.
I hope my Lowe’s or homedepot get the coraljade sedum. I want to get multiple
I hope so too! Its so pretty! 🌱
omg i want that coral sedum too!
When will you start planting annuals out in your landscape? I’m zone 6 too.
Was that 8.00$ for ONE plant?
That's what I thought but then I realized they are perennials so it's actually a good price.
Oh man, it looks like I need to go to Home Depot. 😂
Steph, do you feed your iris?

❤❤firechied
So beautiful. But I need tall flowers. Nosie neighbor child likes to look over my fence. Help! Give me 6-8 ft please ❤
I walked to the Home Depot location
i need that miss piggy cuz my shade garden needs color
What's with the ridiculously cold Hardiness ratings? Down to -20°, -30°, -40°? That's crazy.
There are many of us in the northern states that experience temperatures like this. I’m glad that there are perennials that will survive our winters or we wouldn’t be able to enjoy any perennials.

The Home Depot near me doesn’t have any of these plants. Just boring same old selections of non brands
Why do not show Prise “ PW”. ? Cat- pajamas ?. Zlata. florida
Hello, I show the Proven Winners (PW), cat's pajamas nepeta here: th-cam.com/video/uOPafyBk8_I/w-d-xo.html
