Requested by FreidenkerDeluxe, JohnFreeman1337, someone whose name I can't remember, and me. =-P
If you know of recent Kaizo hacks, you know of Cool or Cruel. It strays from the pack in providing original and interesting levels, while still retaining enough difficulty to not be a walk in the park. It also has very amusing traps that will probably make you laugh if you fall for one. At least I did.
As you may know, this hack's levels are LONG. Even when I drastically cut down the levels' lengths, I still was only able to fit 4 levels.
Part 2 up whenever I finish it. Either that or Pit of Death is next up for TAS'ing.
By the way, the version TAS'd is demo version 0.2

Oh yeah. Now that you mention it: I think I've heard the Bomberman theme before. But this is some kind of remix. The soundtrack sounds really cool and really fits the game.
For some reason, I found the fake level 0 bonus rooms very funny. And I really like how the hack actually shows you where the invisible blocks are.

I saw a resemblence to the special world names alright, but thanks for pointing it out nonetheless. I actually just said the custom music is great.

Walljumping
Mario needs at least a speed of 35 going toward a wall, and must run into the wall at exactly a block boundary (every 16 pixels). If Mario "catches" the wall, then conditions are good for a walljump - simply press jump a couple frames before he snags it.
The smallest variations in speed and position during the jump onto the wall can affect whether or not this works correctly. Keep trying!
I love how the music is different. Great hack!
It's a glitch in the mario engine. If you're in the air next to a wall, pushing towards the wall, and mario is aligned so that his feet are on the same horozontal level that the top of a block could be placed, then the game thinks you're standing on solid ground since you're pushing slightly into the wall, so there's a tiny bit of ground underneath you, and you're at the right height for there to be a block underneath you. You have to have perfect timing though.
tubular 2, I NEVER thought to hear tubelectric in a mario hack... AWESOME is putting it lightly, even in the all caps.

Honestly, all these "Look how hard I can make it" rom hacks seem like only a TAS would work. I doubt, without multiple checkpoints, anyone's goin' to beat these levels legit.
I still like the Kaizo Mario(s), 'cause they were very possible, only a pain in the ass...
I don't like ones where you need to glitch every 5 seconds peftectly, or die.

Cool & Cruel remind me of Doom's Hell Revealed, in how the maps are a step up in difficulty while also having awesome music.
i like that for once luigi takes the spotlight, and mario pretty much serves his purpose by getting beaned.

@jeffwa5000 worldpeace125. the hack's creator, made a hack called makjang mario world as well, but lost it in a hard drive crash or something. he wants this hack to have the same quality.
@Kzar5678 mario can jump once if he is in a walking, running, or climbing position, if you jump at a wall you sprite changes for a sec, you have only a few frames but mario can then jump again, this is normally impossible, but since this is tool assisted, you can get your moves down to perfect every frame
The tools he uses just allow him to save and replay till he gets it perfect, and slow the game down as well. The wall jump is a glitch in the real game, but it has to be done almost with perfect timing to pull off.

So a human has played this at some point, and this is the results.
There is a small portion of time where the game reads the player as standing on the edge of the block. It is very hard to wall-jump without tool assistance.

Hell, as far as Kaizo hacks go, at least they tell you where the fucking invisible coin blocks are.
That kind of is my point. The idea is, where do you draw the line at playing? It's certainly not an example of the actual work put into it by any stretch and it's deceptive to explain it away just as simply.
How did you jump at about 1:15?
It seems to me that you jumped from sort of an invisible platform?
I mean, you are doing a normal jump in the air?

Makjang Quality? The creator, Worldpeace, made a previous hack named Makjang Mario. It was erased, and so he made another hack to be as good as Makjang.

What is the song in the second level. I think I recognize it, but can't place it! Sounds a bit like the Airwolf theme, but it's not...
@Jcontardo TAS = tool assisted speedrun. wich means he use slowdowns, rewinds and, thats the most important thing, savestates. wich means he can save wereever he is in the level. But dont get this wrong. its still a very hard thing to do:)!and dainegai IS one of the best smw player out there. and dudes like panangbenny(another incredible TASer) play kaizo mario world without savestates and tools(search for it on youtube, its amazing, and very entertaining). no problem for the question:)!
Was the music in that last level from some touhou game? Cuz if not it sure as hell sounded like it
