Worldpeace. You've really outdone yourself dude! This was just awesome! The prologue, very creative as if it were a minigame and the custom sprites and music, that was also new. Keep up the good work man! :D
I remember like, 3, 4 years ago when I subscribed to you because I thought MakJang looked like it was going to be "a cool hack". Then that hack was lost. But you started making a new one, so I stuck around. I'm definitely glad I did, getting to see this masterpiece... is just freaking amazing. Also the description just makes this video. lol
beautifully made level that I have absolutely no desire to play, really fun to watch, though. Love the Soukyugurentai music, I was not expecting that at all. The descending part with the block snakes was nuts.
@worldpeace125 I wonder how difficult it will be to put all the levels together on the same ROM after they're all made. It's almost like the hack is evolving along with the higher standards of hacking (the first 9 levels had flunchers and cutoff, and the next two have sampled music, more custom sprites, and almost no munchers). This is one of the most chocolate Kaizo hacks I've ever seen, but I like how it still retains some vanilla flavor.
If you go through the first one, Mario will die as soon as he touches the goal tape because of the way the fast autoscroll is coded. Not sure how he got the fast autoscroll to stop at the last screen. Prolly used a custom generator.
The only word I can describe this as... EPIC!!! I love this it's one of my most watched videos because of the custom music. I know how to port music but I can't make a masterpiece like the ones in this hack Worldpeace, you should make more hacks like these
How can I unmark spam messages which aren't actually spam? I clicked buttons but nothing happened. Some other buttons in youtube also doesn't seem to work after google+. Maybe that's a browser problem?
+worldpeace125 What GFX is this at 5:41? I need them from a hack which I'm working, I've added a Metroid Coin Picker, and some baddies from Super Mario Bros. 2
@Error52QFG Are you kidding? C|C would be never the same without the masterfully designed traps and gimmicks. Though epic custom music is a great extra too, of course.
13:22 Just when I thought it was the original level. This stage is so weird. The first part reminded me of Cube 2 Hypercube, and the freefall reminded me of Quickman's stage from Megaman 2, and the boss was just pure gold. Wonder if Tubular will be an arranged version also.
Two questions. 1. How does the silver P-switch thing with Yoshi actually work? Is it doable in the original SMW cart as well? 2. Why did you undercut the first goal bar? Is it a kaizo trap? Other than that... I really just have no comment for this other than "amazing." Your SMW levels are a great blend between frustration, excellent design, and just plain fun. Just watching the levels themselves is a trip, just to see what crazy stuff pops up next.
@worldpeace125 Thanks a lot :) Definitely your compositions SMW style are more that just songs... are pieces of art =) ♫ Congratulations for a excelent work ^^
So this is the "Cool" aspect of Cool or Cruel huh? Needless to say, that this masterpiece is awesome. You took some things from your other hack and made it just as better. I must say, though I've said that about the other stages, that this is the best one yet. The name of the boss, I can't really take it seriously, but at least it was very entertaining to watch. Now I'm curious what would've happened if you hit the first goalpost instead of the second one, or you missed it completely? XD
@RoHiSakk I think "Soukyugurentai" is the name the game is better known by. Here's the music without the gameplay, if you still want it (skip to 0:24): /watch?v=7HO4vvdZiKQ
@OmnicidalZero Umm... Brutal Mario is actually very fun and has minimal 'Kaizo' factors, imho. Mostly just bosses. This makes Kaizo look like the original SMW by comparison.
I don't know yet if I want them. Maybe just to experiment around with it randomly to see what kind of creative ideas come to mind. I was thinking of making a level in my own hack that's inspired by this one, but does NOT copy from it (have not broken ground yet).
Just a small suggestion: next time you upload a video that has annotations, it wouldn't be a bad idea to make the video private or unlisted while adding the annotations, and making it public afterward. I missed all the annotations because it must have just been uploaded. Welp, guess I'd better go play the level.
A few questions I have. Did you modify the custom block that can spawn custom sprites or make your own? I see that in one part you hit one with a shell, yet the one I downloaded from SMWCentral can't be hit with an item. Also, if I make it spawn a creating block, it always goes right first instead of up.
I'm so glad I followed this hack, you are amazing at making these levels. A question I have is, what's up with the speed of the coin snake? It seems rather chaotic.
I have a question. I looked for the original version of Terra Driver - Ota City Sky Stage 1, but I can't find it. Then I googled it and nothing. It's from a game or something like that because I found No information about it :(
So, what happens if you mess up shelling the boss somehow? (like if you were to somehow toss a shell the wrong direction or something or not shell fast enough, I know that doesn't seem likely, but I was just curious) Do you just die or does the phase repeat or?
Probably because there's no recognition in making an utterly mundane SMW hack (fun or not). That, and anybody with real talent (like the evil mastermind of this thing) is going to want to push the engine well past its breaking point. This hack pushes and beats the game around so hard that it should be in a battered women's shelter.
This never gets old. Hope you're doing alright worldpeace.
Agreed! :D
Ota City Sky is the best Mario tune ever! (I know it comes from Terra Diver but most people associate it with SMW)
Cool or Cruel used to be merely amazing. Now, it has transcended 'romhack' to become something else entirely.
Just... incredible.
Its just art.
@Samuel Zuccati I swear to god I see you everywhere
more like cool or awesome
eyyyy it's raocow
The music, the background, the atmosphere, and considering this is a kaizo...
This is heaven.
The boss fight was so AWESOME
Many people aren't a fan of ridiculously hard hacks, but I think you'd single-handedly give them a reason to be. Excellent work.
Words can't describe how astonished I was when I saw all the different gimmicks and mind-blowing things in this level. It's fantastic.
Worldpeace. You've really outdone yourself dude! This was just awesome! The prologue, very creative as if it were a minigame and the custom sprites and music, that was also new. Keep up the good work man! :D
That boss was amazing.
This level, is BEAUTIFUL!!! It's enough to make a grown man cry, but not this man! Tear, get back in my eye!!! FTW!
Ayo it finally reached 100k views
"Climbing up and falling, quite simple." Quite simple...quite simple...(echoes in my brain)
...
...
...
SIMPLE MY @$$!
still the best kaizo level designer ever. the only thing i can say about this level is just wow, so much amazement in one level, wow
Love the soundtrack!

OMG!
Thats BEYOND MAKJANG QUALITY!!!!
Damn amazing cruel and cool.
Thats more chaotic than all previous levels from C|C
I... I don't even know what to say!
Outstanding work, worldpeace! Every single part I loved through and through!
this is by far the most creative kaizo hack I've ever seen
they really go above and beyond what's expected here, many props :D
So far, I've had 2 dreams that I played this level. In both dreams, I messed up horribly and did everything wrong...
In one of my dreams, I somehow managed to get from 6:54 to about 7:47 .
Dude u opened with Circus Charlie the 2nd part. that is so frickin awesome :D
This is so glorious. That boss, too, just amazing...
Can't wait to see what the next levels are like. :D
it's like kaizo + quality, this is SO COOL
@worldpeace125 I wonder how difficult it will be to put all the levels together on the same ROM after they're all made. >roland samples
>labyrinth zone tiles
all of my aaaaaaaaa
Please sample more Terra Diver and Fortress2 Songs... Your soundtrack is madness-causing epic.
Godly stage, peace. And nice selection of music as usual.
Never in ny life did i think sokyugurentai's music could translate into smw soundfont so well
I just realized the beginning of Culture Shock sounds like 'Believe' by The Chemical Brothers.
Man, the music in this is so good.
@SaurierSlash IDK, Bowser? Certainly couldn't have been a human cuz humans are incapable of disliking this masterpiece.
If you go through the first one, Mario will die as soon as he touches the goal tape because of the way the fast autoscroll is coded. Not sure how he got the fast autoscroll to stop at the last screen. Prolly used a custom generator.

*****...Okaaaaaaaaaaay...

@@MrKIVAYU02 this is probably way too late but it looks like labyrinth zone from sonic the hedgehog
@@ihaetschool3361 thanks
Genius 💁🏾♂️
Awesome!!! The best boss battle i've seen in a mario hack!
@Error52QFG Are you kidding? C|C would be never the same without the masterfully designed traps and gimmicks. Though epic custom music is a great extra too, of course.
why do watching these things always make me feel sleepy?
Because they are long pit hacks more than likely.
"climbing up and falling, quite simple"
are you sure about that
13:22 Just when I thought it was the original level. This stage is so weird. The first part reminded me of Cube 2 Hypercube, and the freefall reminded me of Quickman's stage from Megaman 2, and the boss was just pure gold. Wonder if Tubular will be an arranged version also.

I see someone has been having fun with the creating/eating block sprite disassembly. :V
Thanks a bunch! Love your work aswell sir! hope to see more! :D
YOU HAVE THE POWER OF A THOUSAND SUNS
This is one of the most insane and glorious levels I've ever seen! What's the cave music, out of curiousity?
Fortress 2 Blue - Culture Shock
...Music at 5:21, anyone?
Fortress 2 Culture Shock
this is insanity

6:50, nothing in a ROM hack is more original than that! HOLY SHIT!!!
Also I think I'll be able to keep a shell until the end to cheat a mushroom.
Oh! And I also like the swinging Ball 'N Chain. Send that to SMWC, too.
@RoHiSakk
I think "Soukyugurentai" is the name the game is better known by. Here's the music without the gameplay, if you still want it (skip to 0:24):
/watch?v=7HO4vvdZiKQ
I love this stuffs, I watch'em when I'm drunk and brainfart! Awesome!
I feel like Cool or Cruel is a music showcase.
Not that there is anything WRONG with that...
@zigil1 I see what he means, though.
This hack...has the most incredible- no, colossal music.
This is just like a speed run
@OmnicidalZero Umm... Brutal Mario is actually very fun and has minimal 'Kaizo' factors, imho. Mostly just bosses. This makes Kaizo look like the original SMW by comparison.
Kaizo means 'remodel' in Japanese, but like '-ception' the Internet has given it a separate meaning.
anybody know the name of the song at 5:22 i know he's mentioned it before but i like this version anybody know where i could get it?
omg thank you
I don't know yet if I want them. Maybe just to experiment around with it randomly to see what kind of creative ideas come to mind. I was thinking of making a level in my own hack that's inspired by this one, but does NOT copy from it (have not broken ground yet).
I wanna see one.
Mainly for Ota City Sky.
PS: I love the music for the cavern part.
It's just outstanding.
Just a small suggestion: next time you upload a video that has annotations, it wouldn't be a bad idea to make the video private or unlisted while adding the annotations, and making it public afterward. What's a video description? Whatever it is, it probably won't have the answer to your question anyways.
Heyyyy! Cool or Cruel is back WOOT!
this is so very entertaining to watch.

I came to the title screen music.
The room starting at 06:35 is probably the most hilarious thing I've ever seen in an SMW hack.
This would be a complete failure of game design to play but is great fun to watch.
@zigil1 I didn't say it was.
But damn, listen to that and tell me you don't forget about the level.
It's from a game or something like that because I found No information about it :(
Oh my god, that boss... holy shit.
I don't think it's the creator that's on drugs, but rather, the ROM itself, unless witchcraft doesn't count as a drug.
Labyrinth Zone sure is pissed at Mario.
dat hack... dat music... dat gameplay...
amazing!!!
Can't you just spin-jump the Bullet Bills in the Makjang Cheeseburger fight?
Though that boss battle is fucking epic.
I like the poison mushroom sprite and the poison mushroom fishing Lakitu. I need those sprites; send them to SMWC.
You're my Romhack God Now
으앜ㅋ 여기서 만나네요 그나저나 그라디우스 메가드라이브꺼임요?
Hey, I know you! But.. Megadrive = Gradius? I have no idea
This is more than Makjang quality
Questions at the freefalling part: What's the point of the platform and the Green Shell?
12:01 this part made me give up
i know all too well of kaizo mario... made a 3 hour video of it before, hard as hell and practicaly impossible without save states xD
12:45 Muse - Plug In Baby
Evil Empire(Plug In Baby Remix)
VIP Mario Series.
What happens if you hit the first of the two goals at the end? Screen scroll crushes you?
that is just.. wow
Does me remind of VIP and Wall Mix.
Did you rearrange all the musics? I hear a lot from Fortress. I used to play that game hell lot.
How did you manage to get those manipulated "block snakes" to work? This is supurb hacking!
Dear god, PLEASE make level 12! I think It would be so cool to see how you abuse a p-balloon...
...Oh, man...
So, what happens if you mess up shelling the boss somehow? (like if you were to somehow toss a shell the wrong direction or something or not shell fast enough, I know that doesn't seem likely, but I was just curious) Do you just die or does the phase repeat or?
Can I make tubular?I would love to contribute to this awesome hack.
Question: Do I have to guide those directional blocks by myself or is it done by game..?
i have a question what music is that of the star? 12:45
