You said you wouldn't do it, and you did it. Now I really know how to tie THE only knot I need. Forget those other videos B-Lat is the only knot tier you can trust on you tube.
You are the reason I started using a palomar on all of my bass rigs. It really is the best easiest knot. I still use a clinch on flies though. I guess the only thing I don't like about a palomar is that it eats up a lot of the leader every time you have to retie. A problem that you only run into when you are only carrying one or two rods.
My dad taught me how to tie this knot when I was 5. It's the only knot I've ever used and I'm 40 now. Awesome video and I'm glad you showed the double palomar knot too. Thanks for this one.
100% I couldn't agree more ! I tie EVERYTHING on the fish-end of the line with a Palomar knot 🪢 braid to leader I use the double uni (because that's the first you tube video that popped up when I searched braid to leader knots) 😆
My favorite knot on everything as well. Glad to know I tie like a pro. just not yet a pro at bass fishing. Haha. Sending my luck your way to win a tourney this year.
Finally! Some one with the stones to make a vid like this, lol. So much controversy with utilizing a palomar with flouro, and the ever present statement of, “if you’re not using this knot then you’re doing it wrong.” Simplicity is key in my book. Love this vid.
I heard of dread locks but shittt locks?!?!? Lol I’m jk you are the man and by far my favorite. Only knot I ever used on braid. Never heard that it slips? I like it. Very strong and easy knot.
Thanks, never seen it wet and cinched to the eye, wet it again and just pull the tag end. I've learned alot on these videos. Particularly about spotted bass and ned rigs. I literally caught dozens of fish every morning this spring just pitching to main lake rocks while everybody else was fishing " spawning coves".

Lol like others have said, I’ve been using the Palomar for 4 decades and still do. It’s one of the strongest and fastest knots, Palomar and Alberto keep it simple
"i aint get into fishing to be a knot tie-er" lol said it perfectly. we tie a palomar knot when rigging deep jigs (200g-400g) for bluefin tuna out here on the west coast. 200# flouro bite leader to a swivel, tie a palomar onto the swivel with braided line. this rig has caught plenty of 100-200# BFT. if your palomar or braid is slipping, its user error.
I use the "little kid knot" as I call it. The first step of tting your shoes, 3 or 3 times. And you're good to go. I promise I catch fish regularly. It works. Like he said, the best knot is the knot you can tie
Awesome video Brian! A timeless classic, and one of the 2 lure knots I use when I'm bass fishing! I'll use a uni not for spinner baits and other baits that take a lot of line to thread through the loop, but my go-to snug knot is the ol' Palomar. 💪 I'll occasionally use a no-slip loop knot (Salt-Strong has a great video!) or Richard Gene's loop knot for little panfish and micro rigs, but any situation I'd use a loop knot in bass fishing I've come to prefer the split ring and Palomar/uni. 🤙🎣
Unironically I use the San Diego jam knot 😂 If it's good enough for tuna fishing its definitely overkill for bass fishing and it's super easy to tie once you do it a few times
Only knot I use unless I'm fishing ultra light with #3-4 original raps and then I use the loop knot for more lure action. Oh and I use a double poli when muskie fishing with coated braid but the double poli knot is where you do the overhand knot but go through the line loop twice before tightening it. I've seen the through the eye twice knot you did but it has a different name.
i've heard some people swear by using loop knots for hard baits/crank baits, stuff like that. I love a palomar and tie it for just about anything but also was wondering if you have to use a split ring on certain baits or do you think it doesn't matter?
if you not pull tag end will make sprirals in the line....I always tied same knot also as Gerald Swidel trilene knot..but i slip the loop end over the lure just like palmer knot an only 1 tag end..this knot better for braid just is cause more you pull it tighter it gets .when i was kid i kept breaking big fish off with trilene knot so i modified it to stop that ..but i taught my son palmer knot he never looses fish from knot failure.BASS Fishing eats line right above knot the teeth an rocks docks trees so to use extra line just keeps line good from breaking.i told son see rough cut knot retie an you get rid of that with limited line loss
It's the only knot I've tried in probably 30 years... Before that, I only used the trilene not... But then I saw the light. When Orlando Wilson told me the Palomar was the strongest knot you could tie, at around 8 or 9 years old, watching him on TV, laying on the living room floor, in my underwear, that was all I needed to hear. 🤣
I tie mine different on braid. I give it 2 overhand knots instead of 1 then run my hook/lure through my loop. I have run it normal but someone said it would slip🤔
Sometimes when tying something large, like a Spook, I want a different knot to tie. I 99.9% of the time tie a palmar knot. 100% pull from tag end keeps from burning main line and putting kinks in line.
I lift 5 lb bass up a 10 ft bridge with 12 lb yo zuri hybrid tied w an improved clinch knot never once had a failure double uni for leaders lifted 15 lb carp out of the water and much simpler knots i find
Alberto knot for main line to leader, snell knot for punching, palomar for EVERYTHING else. It's fast, easy, and if tied carefully doesn't waste a bunch of line. If I take my time I can tie it without even having to trim the tag end. It's served me well for years.
You pulling on the tag end is the reason why you don’t run into issues with palomar knots on flouro. Just look at how chewed up that tag end was after you cinched it down, that would’ve been the main line had you done it the normal way.
You said you wouldn't do it, and you did it. Now I really know how to tie THE only knot I need. Forget those other videos B-Lat is the only knot tier you can trust on you tube.
Glad I’m not the only one that uses the Palomar for everything!!
You are the reason I started using a palomar on all of my bass rigs. It really is the best easiest knot. I still use a clinch on flies though. The hair is looking good Brian 😎👊🏼👌🏼
I agree I have complete confidence in the knot and it’s the only knot I use
This video came at the right time. Been trying to figure out what knot I wanted to use and I way over complicated it. Thanks brother!
100% I couldn't agree more ! I tie EVERYTHING on the fish-end of the line with a Palomar knot 🪢 braid to leader I use the double uni (because that's the first you tube video that popped up when I searched braid to leader knots) 😆

I love the polamar not. I’ve never done the double. Thanks for sharing 😊
LOL I am going to have to learn the fruity loop knot. I am with you, I use the palomar knot for everything.
Good video Brian, just started bass fishing three years ago and that’s the only knot I use and never had any problems
Palomar knot is the best!
I pull the main line first. Then pull the rest of the slack out the tag end. Reason being, to save line. I'm not the type that likes to respool often.
New sub . Watched two videos now learned a bunch already !
This guy is too much! So real & down to earth. My kind of teach.
Alberto Knot works great!
Love it …. In the boat good buddy …👍👍👍👍👍
Finally! Some one with the stones to make a vid like this, lol. So much controversy with utilizing a palomar with flouro, and the ever present statement of, “if you’re not using this knot then you’re doing it wrong.”

Awesome video by my friend Brian 😎👍
I do a double Palomar for braid and a loop knot for jerk stuff and swimbaits. Palomar for everything else.
Thanks for sharing mate and greetings from Holland, Pat.👊🏼👍🏼🇳🇱🎣
I heard of dread locks but shittt locks?!?!? Lol I’m jk you are the man and by far my favorite. Only knot I ever used on braid. Never heard that it slips? I like it. Very strong and easy knot.
The UFO at 1:32 top right 😳

I learned this knot a few years ago. I couldnt agree more. It's the easiest knot to tie and it's really strong.
Right you are!! Thats what i use!! thanks for the double P for braid...
Glad to hear this knot is good for bass fishing, I just learned it as a part of my crappie adventures and can tie it easier. Awesome video, thank you
Great video. Been using the Palomar for many years and never knew about the double. Learn something knew every day

I used to use a Trilene knot until I discovered this knot, so much easier
I love making fishing videos also and am just starting out and love watching your videos!! Great video!! 🤝🤝
This is literally the only knot I know how to tie
I’m going to start using the double Palomar for braid. Great video, thanks!
Lol like others have said, I’ve been using the Palomar for 4 decades and still do. It’s one of the strongest and fastest knots, Palomar and Alberto keep it simple
I've tried other knots. Palomar is my favorite and so easy for me to do.
Mines too my favorite knot and it has never failed
B Lat what’s your Lews coupon code for your peoples to use?
thanks for the tips.
That's my knot too. It uses a lot of line, but yeah, it's tight. Its a knot I can tie.
Can we get a zman micro finesse mayfly? Something we can tow behind a walking bait.
Good Buddy....What is that flipping hook in this video?
I use the "little kid knot" as I call it. The first step of tting your shoes, 3 or 3 times. And you're good to go. I promise I catch fish regularly. It works. Like he said, the best knot is the knot you can tie
On certain baits could the split rings or on the tie, any kind of knots can they start to wear down overtime?
Awesome video Brian! A timeless classic, and one of the 2 lure knots I use when I'm bass fishing! I'll use a uni not for spinner baits and other baits that take a lot of line to thread through the loop, but my go-to snug knot is the ol' Palomar. 💪

Brian !!
What kind of drop shot from the nose was THAT!!!😲
Unironically I use the San Diego jam knot 😂 If it's good enough for tuna fishing its definitely overkill for bass fishing and it's super easy to tie once you do it a few times

Too many people have forgotten the k.i.s.s. method🙄. Just keep it simple
i've heard some people swear by using loop knots for hard baits/crank baits, stuff like that. I love a palomar and tie it for just about anything but also was wondering if you have to use a split ring on certain baits or do you think it doesn't matter?
Loop knots suck honestly
@@BrianLatimerFishing cheers. split rings for life, got it.
The best knot I use is the Twin Luo…Loop de Loop Fruit Loop knot. Hands down it’s fire 🔥
Only knot I use except for when doing a FC leader to braid, then I do the lefty kreh knot which is another super simple and strong knot.
Some braids recommend the polymer knot. I know spider wire does.
if you not pull tag end will make sprirals in the line....I always tied same knot also as Gerald Swidel trilene knot..but i slip the loop end over the lure just like palmer knot an only 1 tag end..this knot better for braid just is cause more you pull it tighter it gets .when i was kid i kept breaking big fish off with trilene knot so i modified it to stop that ..but i taught my son palmer knot he never looses fish from knot failure.BASS Fishing eats line right above knot the teeth an rocks docks trees so to use extra line just keeps line good from breaking.i told son see rough cut knot retie an you get rid of that with limited line loss
Good video and funny lol lol jajajajaja.👍💯

how do you tie this not for braid to leader?
Wetting the line with saliva increases is strength and helps to tighten your knot also.
I tie mine different on braid. I give it 2 overhand knots instead of 1 then run my hook/lure through my loop. I have run it normal but someone said it would slip🤔
The way you do it is actually the true double poli.
I use the double palamor on my frogs
All I’ve been using for the last three years for a connection not . I’ve had one fail
My go to knot as well. My clinch knot failed me to much
B-LAT RAWKS!!!!!
I do like simple
how come your videos never have audio in left channel
Sometimes when tying something large, like a Spook, I want a different knot to tie. I 99.9% of the time tie a palmar knot. 100% pull from tag end keeps from burning main line and putting kinks in line.
waiting for the twin loop de loop fruit loop knot video tho..
100 percent never broke off or slipped.
I lift 5 lb bass up a 10 ft bridge with 12 lb yo zuri hybrid tied w an improved clinch knot never once had a failure double uni for leaders lifted 15 lb carp out of the water and much simpler knots i find
Those are the same knots I use . Keep it simple.
Only knot this old guy uses too. Fast, easy and it works
My choice of knot. Simple and strong. Hackney uses this knot also…who am i to question yall? 😂
Tooth grab on the tag end and seeing curled line means the Palomar will be done right!
Alberto knot for main line to leader, snell knot for punching, palomar for EVERYTHING else. It's fast, easy, and if tied carefully doesn't waste a bunch of line. If I take my time I can tie it without even having to trim the tag end. It's served me well for years.
But how do you tie that triple loop fruit loop knot, lol thanks for sharing.
Just like doing mama when the kids sleep
Polymer is the best
Takes a 1st down in football worth of line if I mess up ..lol
Bro'¡ why you hating on the twin loop loopty loop knot. JS
I watched this video while eating barbecue chicken.
I’m reading this comment riding motorcycles with my boys👌🏾
Ima say palomar knot
That's the knot I use 😎👍
@@gofishingwhenyoucan me too, learned it while tying a drop shot and stuck with it.
You pulling on the tag end is the reason why you don’t run into issues with palomar knots on flouro. Just look at how chewed up that tag end was after you cinched it down, that would’ve been the main line had you done it the normal way.
Thank me Later 😂🤙🤙🤙
Brian, r u drunk? U slurring. 🤠
That ain't Brian. Look at his head.
I like to follow the K.I.S.S. Philosophy. Keep it simple silly
B Lats comment section....learning knots and getting solicited for porn sites. 🤣🤦♂️
WTF up with that hook?
