Very, very nice! Inspired me to purchase more of these old kits off ebay. I'm working on a collection of Foyt

very nicely done.. I had the same problem with the wabble. To fix it easily I just targeted the wheel that was off the ground and lightly bent the suspension down until the wheel made contact with the ground. quick and easy fix. also I got Good Year decals for the tires.. really made 'em stand out. But your build you did here still looks very nice!

Currently building this kit. I noticed you installed the mirrors on the body. I think the instructions call for it to be installed on the wind screen. I think it will be easier doing it the way you built it. A good amount of flash but for its age it’s a decent kit. Nice job.

Ya, I was thinking that you were going to see the backs of the mirrors and the glue thought the glass and I didn't want that so I just stuck them on the body.

Oddly enough, I have three of these Indycar kits on my shelf waiting. It’s been 40 years since I last built a model. They’ll likely sit for a while yet until I have the time to get started. I was wondering if I could strip the chrome from some of the parts to make it more authentic. I’ll need to look into the oven cleaner trick. This was most helpful, nice work!

SUPER build!!! As old as this kit is you did an Super Job!!
Questions: Do you have a listing of the colors/brands that you used for your Entire engine ( are they Tamiya )??
    - You say Not to use 'GlossCoat' but I always thought it would be used.... what do other modellers use???
    - Never used oven cleaner to remove chrome did you re-spray with silver/aluminum??
    - The underside of the car... in I-cars that I have seen the underside is Not the same color as rest of body... carbon fiber now, but back then I believe metal (aluminum ?) Except where the radiators are located ...... That underside was painted body color all the way back to engine. Did you do the same????
I have the WHOLE set of AMT Indy race cars + a few 1/24 scale, but my question is how old are Your kits?? Noticed that you used a 'sealer' for the decals.... what was that again????
Remarks: Your engine detail is Just Fantastic, especially the black liner part.... finally got some myself. and that last comment you made with the "pop-up valve" I did the same ( damn instructions -- or maybe operator error ).
Your overall colors are Really great ... and simple ... just Tamiya red, white and blue... small questn did you paint the white 1st?
Most of the other decal setting stuff I have so no worries there, but JUST in Case.... can you buy replacement decals??????!!
    (B) IF (B)!!! I start to build those kitSSS I would like to show one (1) here... is that okay??
I building ships for now past 1.5 years now, but do have other genre of kits... like these!! Thanks for the video & posting...hope to talk to you soon!!!

There is a great debate about clear coating decals on race vehicles. I did clear this one as I like to seal my decals in. You can decide what type of finish you are after and then add clear coat or not. It's your model, you get to decide. I did paint the white first as red is difficult to cover with white.
I did the underside on this one red and used Alclad metal colors (aluminum) for the engine.
I learned after I finished the kit that you can get replacement decals from Indycals.

Great job! Turned out great for an older kit! I'm wondering what is the solution with the snake looking object in the container? Thanks, I always learn a lot when watching!

That container is called a Silicoil brush cleaning tank and I use to clean my paint brushes. The one you saw is filled with lacquer thinner. I have another one filled with enamel thinner for those types of paints. I have picked a few of them up from Hobby Lobby and they are very handy for brush cleaning.
