I wish the school that I went to 8 years ago was like this place . I went to Midwest technical institute in moline Illinois it was their first pipe welding class that they had. And it wasn’t shit compared to this. I’ve been working at an archer Daniel midland corn plant in iowa for Worley , pipe welding for about 6 years now and I wish I could have learned the things that I was actually going to experience in the field . Going to this place would have put me in such a better spot startin out . I encourage anyone who loves pipe welding and wants to do it as a career this school these guys are runnin is top notch shit all they need now is some welding out of the man basic or some maintenance type scenarios like valves leaking by welding through water , or threaded jobs or shaft build up with 6013 or tank jobs scenarios. They are definitely moveing in the right direction I’m sure they are producing some top notch welders. For 13 k that’s awsome. I wouldn’t recommended anyone to go to the school I went to . But Alabama pipe welders academy is the shit
Adrian Barbosa exactly! I was wondering the same thing. I’ve never seen 308L recommended on anything other than 303, 304, etc. I checked my texts, and nowhere have I read about 308L on carbon. I’ve been doing this since 1973, so this is odd.
It’s to keep from using stainless pipe on test costs them money you can weld 308 on carbon for testing 309 is if one pipe was carbon and the other was stainless
This guy is true pipe welder
Gracias amigos very nice from chile
Why do you use scratch start??
