It's great pedal, but i recommend you to buy the LYR version of it, it has the mini switches on the right side that you can dial with lot of options and the switch to invert the chain of the two pedals (like the V2 original)

I own an HSS Strat now but will have to get an SSS Strat first before I buy this. It's on the list, soon, soon......
I love a HSS strat for their versatility, but you can't beat a SSS strat for that classic S type tone. Deffo an essential for the raw blues tones
@@BudgetPedalChap I still want a Tele as well. I've tried a couple of the cheaper Squier models, they're not bad but didn't really like them. My brother has 3 times the amount of guitars that I have, including a MIM and a US Fender Telecaster, I just love those, but I can't justify spending that much money on a guitar that I will likely play for just 10 minutes once every other year. Flying V is definitely my all time favorite, has been since the 70s.
@@peter333 I was a bit Tele player for a while, but I really hated the bridge pickup so I'd switch it out for a really big thick sounding pickup which kinda defeated the point 🤣🤣 I do have a Tele that does the Tele thing and used it for a gig last year and realised I'd been missing out on a glorious tone this whole time .

@@peter333 mine is a Revelation Tele, but I got some rather interesting alnico IV pickups and upgraded hardware for it. It wasn't bad out of the box but the upgraded make it sound better than most. The Schecter PT series are well worth looking at, I tried one and almost bought it there and then 👍

Us this a stage ready pedal? Noise levels and such?
I would have thought so, output level seems normal and the gain didn't introduce too much noise
May i ask what your signal chain is for this demo?
Of course. I use a Variax but with the magnetic pickups, so essentially a Strat. Then straight into the pedal and then into a HX stomp with a fender clean tone dialed in with a tiny amount of reverb to emulate the sound in the room. Really simple because the pedal is the star of the show 👍
@@BudgetPedalChap thanks, the HX stomp was the missing piece I was wondering about. Any cheapo options similar to HX Stomp that maybe doesn't have quite so many options?
@@jhref the Tonex one just does the amp modelling part and a bit of reverb and sound amazing. It's about £180 and it's worth every penny. My most recent review of the three Fazley Tempest 90 used the Tonex one for all the sound demos 👍
How's this compare to the king of drive?
Similar ballpark, the dual gun is a bit more transparent where the king pushes the mids a bit more. Both sound great 👍

Because the dual gun has tubescreamer side
@@waltuhhimself yeah, but the steel string side is a much flatter EQ. The king is basically 2 blues breakers, which are mid heavy by design. I'd say get either one or the other, they are similar enough that you don't need both. Then again, they are cheap and fun, so both is good too 😂😂
Although this is a clone I prefer it to the real thing as it’s beautifully dirty

The thing about this pedal is that it sounds like a tube screamer in front of a Super Reverb amp. Do your few tube screamers sound like that? Is that the sound you want? Your answers should tell you if you need it or not..
