Was considering getting a Ghost Echo to go with my Dispatch Master. Glad I saw your video, looking forward to receiving the Ghast Echo and giving it a go. Cheers from 🇨🇦!
@@BudgetPedalChapreceived my Ghast Echo today. Tried it out - sounds great except there is white noise as I turn the depth up. Pretty noisy anywhere higher than 12 o'clock.
@@SSkauge I didn't notice that myself. I don't use gating on the demos so any noise a pedal makes can be heard. Any option to contact the seller to see if they can replace it?
Demon may be taking the stairway to the sun instead of flying!! I've used the eqd ghost echo for a couple years playing worship, love it. This pedal is right on the money, excellent playing!!
Received mine a few weeks ago. I love it. My only complaint is that it’s hard to make it subtle with the wet dry mix. Wish there was a bit more range in that 7 to 9 o’clock sweep. Maybe the original does a better job at that. But it’s one of the best “cheap” pedals that I own.
I just got one of these yesterday. it sort of sounded close to the Afterneath. I thought it would be more of a springy effect but it's not really. It is it's own thing really. The pre-delay acts like an echo so its sounds like a delay pedal. With only three knobs you will be able to dial in a usable tone in a few minute, unlike the Afterneath.
Yeah it's kind of ethereal sounding with hints of classic reverb in there somewhere. You can get as subtle or crazy as you like without much hassle with this I found 👍
I generally hate reverb which sounds straight out of the 80's, but I love reverb that sounds like haunted ballrooms. I wonder what exactly is going on in the circuit to make it so different. Almost like a competing oscillating sound or a certain minor chorus note? Maybe the reverb's out of phase somehow?
Not necessarily reverb tone, but I prefer the ghast as it's easier to work with having less knobs and all. I think they're not dissimilar in terms of tone
@@CrazedFandango yeah, I think it's one of these that's supposed to be a feature rather than sitting back in the mix. Rather that then having bought the EQD version and found out the same 👍
I didn't know ghost echos were so expensive for our friends across the pond. Its a really good reverb. I made a vid on it. I got a deluxe reverb amp but I still have my ghost echo in the line. Its a digital pedal and it has a specific "springy" voice can probably be emulated cheaper without much trouble if someone knows what it's doing. I'm just surprised to see someone would go through the trouble to copy it. I thought they were quite cheap. Think I bought mine for like 99 USD.
@BudgetPedalChap they sure do. I only just found out about them through this vid. I might see what else they got. I dont mind budget pedals if they work and sound good.
@@BudgetPedalChapI just got mine and it's amazing. Your review helped me a lot to decide. BTW, in Brazil I got it (through ali) for something around $50 (vat include). An original EQD goes for around $300.
Obviously Demon fx are real demons how they clone so many popular boutique pedals and do a very decent job of reproducing the effect the clone. You can’t go wrong at a cost of about £30 new delivered directly to the UK, if like me you love the warmth and and tonal characteristics this and Tape Echo pedals produce, such creative pedal effects that give so much movement, colour/ Timbre, overall tone to any melody,,riff, hook etc. it costs more to go for a night out for a few beers or a trip to McDonalds. Just ordered one, sure it’ll be worth it and will add more to any guitar tone than £30s worth.
Yeah, they are really affordable and bringing some of those FX that we wouldn't have the opportunity to try otherwise. I really liked the ethereal thing this one does but still being very usable. Cheers for checking out the video 👍
I couldn't say unfortunately, I only had this for a few weeks on loan and it's gone back now. It feels like a Belton brick, but it could quite as easily just be pure dsp. Might be worth checking on the web to see if anyone has pics of it opened up 👍
is there a popping sound when you engage the pedal? is there a sound cut when you disengage the pedal? Love those reverb sounds and the design artwork is very EQD hehe
Not really, it kind of does a mid grind between a delay and a reverb. It's not quite as precise as a normal delay but does maybe ambient tones. Hope that explains it 👍
Not my cuppa tea but that's got some range and sounds good across the board (no pun intended 🤭). A useful device for song writing and recording inspiration too✌️💜👍😊 I noted some Barre and Page in there - sounded good at that (as did you)✌️👍💜
@@BudgetPedalChap I love your choices man, it's a great pedal, but I don't think it would flatter my playing 😀😀😲😀 But the Stairway stuff, it did well👍👍💜💜✌️✌️
Never owned this but I did have a EQD Levitation, sold it to get a big fancy reverb. Hope they rip off the Levitation next lol Belton Brick reverbs have a cool sound to them.
Only video of this cheapie, I'll pick mine today from the post office, 30€ paid postage included. Would love to see (hear) how close it's to the original EQD one...
@@camenskycameron8413 It could also be a lie price entry to see if you really dig it before shelling out for the real one. It sure does do the thing though eh?
They do make some great sounding pedals. I just wish they wouldn't make them such blatent looking copies - I'm all for a more affordable, great sounding pedal, but don't pretend it's something it's not.
Yeah, a fair few have the same complaints about demon FX. They've managed to get a name for themselves rather quickly because of this strategy, but yeah it's not all that moral
Can the oscillation be set so it's on the edge making its noise but staying in the background and no go full on runaway so you could use it as a kinda drone in the background while playing?
I can hear why this pedal is so popular. Honestly, Earthquaker should feel honored that they have finally been “paid tribute to” by DemonFX. 😂😂
🤣🤣 I'm sure they'd prefer a bit of kickback from those demon sales, but yeah, you've really made it when you get Demon'd. Sounds fab doesn't it?
