The Dark History of Lutyens Media

This is the most comprehensive history of the origin and growth of Lutyens media in Delhi. It is also the story of the downfall of Indian media. Listen to the story of how a handful of editors and journalists based in Delhi willingly surrendered their freedom in exchange for power and wealth.
The story really begins with the history of newspapers in India and the rapid ascent of the English language media which acquired power that was grossly disproportionate to its numbers. The power enabled a few media houses in Lutyens Delhi to bulldoze independent voices that criticised their brand of journalism. Lutyens media editors and journalists became brokers and fixers of politicians, even throwing the Indian national interest to the winds.
It is a sordid and depressing story but a story that must be told in the interests of democracy and freedom, and above all, to serve as a warning of what happens when the fence eats the crop.
Do tune into this riveting and deeply instructive conversation!

Sandip ji, it is extremely important to have good audio. Right now lot of ambient sound is coming. Please ensure a better audio output next time.

I am just listening to this recorded video. The information presented appears very interesting but unfortunately the audio and video don’t seem to match. Can’t hear most of the names. It’s disappointing that I can’t hear information on a god topic. I hope this can be rectified and video reloaded. All the best.

Thank you for the talk. Couple of points:-
    1) Please do not use abbreviations like FOE ( presumably it stands for freedom of expression). Some might be unfamiliar with them.
    2) Do ensure good audio quality which is more important than video quality for such important conversations and it also helps TH-cam transcribe correctly for those who need closed caption support.
Once again, thank you for the work you do.

The rise of social media has greatly diminished the power of the MSM. It had become a hand maiden of the leftist in the past 50 years or so, and Dharmics had absolutely no say in it.
It is important that Dharmics do not allow the same thing to happen in this age of social media, which is to an extent controlled by leftists and wokes.

Excellent conversation no doubt. But, the audio quality is not good; the audience or viewers have to strain their ears to hear clearly. If possible, please try to improve the audio quality. Otherwise, you deserve all the credit for bringing out the dark dirty secrets of the disgusting Lutyen's media brigade

Media, whatever they are doing, is a separate issue. As a matter of fact, the general public has stopped using its own mind. Public has become a crowd only, which can be easily menuplated by Godi media and politicians. Ishwar ne dimag diya hai, istemal karna chahiye 😅

If there was a commission of enquiry appointed to enquire in to the nexus between Congress party, the Lutyens media and judiciary- the present generation will know what happened to India after independence and how the country was destroyed

The Leftist journos had a great sycophantic time with the Congress governments since independence. They discussed ways of uprooting poverty with smoking pipes in their mouths, and whisky goblets. In those days many of us had no way of decrying, or debating their one-sided judgments in the unfortunately considered sacred opinion columns of the newspapers. Thanks to TH-cam and social media which sheltered and resurrected the Hindu and nationalist voices! Your conversation would have remained in the drawing room alone!

The print media operated in a controlled environment, across the country. A review, across the four zones of the country, of the english media, confirms the same:
NORTH Zone (Delhi): Hindustan times had a free run as a mainline newspaper. Indian Express was a distant second. Other leading dailies did not seek a presence in the region.
WEST Zone (Bombay/MUMBAI): Times of India was the leading daily followed way behind, by Indian Express and with Free Press journal as a far away third.
SOUTH Zone (Madras/Bangalore/Hyderabad): The Hindu was the dominant daily out of Madras, with the Indian Express as a far away second.
Deccan Herald and Hindu had an equal presence in Bangalore. Deccan Chronicle similarly, had a major presence in Hyderabad.
EAST Zone: Statesman was the dominant daily out of Calcutta with a free run for a long time.
The above reflected a 'cartalization' of the print industry for a long time. Complacency, dull drab information had gradually become a norm. The advent of offset printing, facsimile edition were technology advancements that encouraged the advent of 'de-cartalisation'. Gradual expansionist ambition diluted the entry barriers and newspapers stretched themselves beyond their comfort zones to poach into 'other zones/markets'. Coupled with this, the rapid growth of 'regional media', which has strong brands such as Malayala Manorama (Kerala), Ananda Bazar Patrika (Kolkata), Dina Thanthi (Chennai), Dainik Baskar (Central India) and many such dailies added on pressure to the main-line english dailies. The emergence of electronic media (TV/Cable TV/Digital media) caused havoc on established media organizations. High overhead costs, increasing input cost, added to the woes of the original media groups. I had the opportunity of reviewing the financials of the richest media house of Chennai, some 20 years back and got the see a 'deep red' profit&loss statement.
Many of the legacy media houses (print) have not approached such challenges strategically and are experiencing the pressure of a changing market.

Most of these print media houses were owned by fat industry houses. So it is possible that the deep red was deliberately maintained for some kind of laundering.
