The famous Thalapakatti biryani house in chennai makes their biryani this way, but they add a lot of ghee instead of oil.

This recipe reminds me so much of Puerto Rican Arroz con Pollo (Rice with Chicken). Essentially the same thing, cook rice and chicken together in a pot with our spices and flavors. It's traditional comfort food in Puerto Rico.
Title shoulda been ALMOST perfect chicken biryani because that is middle eastern style called kabsa where they boil the rice with the sauce unlike indian style where its they layer the rice keeping the sauce underneath and steaming till well done. Props to QT for tryin, love the energy!
Tip for tasty biryani: Next time boil rice and ready chicken masalah.. Arrange layers ..one chicken layer then rice again chicken then rice.. On the top spread tomatoes+ coriander+ chillies+ lemon slices...
