Thanks for the review, I've been considering one of these or a travel surf rod from Toadfish. So you took this as a carry on? Were you able to take a carry on bag as well with it? I'm flying next month and want to take one with me, but I'd rather not have to pay for it to be checked luggage.
I just attached it to my backpack with a carabiner and carried it on. It was a little clunky on there when walking and storing the bag but didn't have to pay extra.
