I have dry fired my darkside 3 times in the shop so far, (I'm a broke bitch so it's on layaway) and based on that I can say it beats my elite combat trigger, and makes the original tp9sa trigger feel like it was buried in sand. The darkside trigger is GLASS. They can say it's the best striker fired trigger, that just goes without saying. In my opinion, the darkside trigger would hold its own against some nice single action hammer fired triggers.... I'm looking at you, Kimber.

I can not put my emotions in to words. I can not tell how I am proud to be a Turk bcus of this beauty. On the other side it is hurrondeously heartbreaking that this particular Canik Rival is 11.000 T Lira s in Turkey.Taxes and fees and registration is a plus 10.000 liras more. 21.000 liras man. As I said it is head, stomach and pain in the ass for us here in Turkey. And official min salary for a month in Turkey is 4200 lira. You have to work almost 3 months for the gun without eating and and plus a 3 months for fees, tax and carrying registiration. 6 months salary man. FUnK THAT

If the mag release button is too long ,use one of the mag extension buttons to reduce the length . they sit in the small pistol in the case . best trigger ever !!!
I bought the Canik SFX Rival Darkside a few months ago. It is absolutely phenomenal! Dependable, very accurate, with Canik's famous smooth trigger pull, and great ergonomics. Truly, one of the very best handguns in present time at a fair, reasonable price. Great video! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I have the canik sf elite sc I absolutely love it. Best bang for your buck out there I think. They give you more accessories than any manufacturer I've seen. Thanks to this video I need another canik 👍. I do agree with other comments though 10mm or 45 would be amazing to see in the canik line.
This Canik Sfx Rival is the Best Strike Fire Pistol that i ever had . The price is amazing for all the features that come in the Box . So far I haven’t heard any negative reviews in any videos . The only complaint is that we need more magazines . I call Century arms and they said at the end of this month they should have magazines .
We've come a loong way from the tp9sa. Wish I held onto that piece for centimental reasons, but the hole in my heart is being filled by my elite combat, and now the rival darkside ❤️❤️❤️ I allllmost feel complete again.
I'm still shooting my tp9 SF which is basically the same just no safety. Thinking about upgrading to one of these with a red dot, or a shadow 2, or maybe a Beretta. Are these actually better? I mean I'm shooting really good with mine
My Mete SFX is never left at home on range day. A very minor negative is the take-up being a bit long, but the extremely short reset makes up for that. If the Rival's trigger is better than the Mete it's a no-brainer making it an addition to the collection.
I've put about 150 rounds through my dark side and I love it. Handed it to my wife who has probably only shot 50 rounds out of any pistols, 15 shots 14 of them were in the 10 ring @ 25 feet.
Really cool! Wife is a huge Canik fan and got a chance to shoot one of these a week back at your range day. Was definitely nice to finally meet you! I went ahead and picked one of these up to surprise her for her birthday coming up. Have plans to get it Cerekote Multicam with some purple added in. Absolutely love Caniks. They still haven't made one to compete with the Elite Combat. The EC is the best out of the box pistol sub $1500 on the market in my opinion.
I own 4 Canik pistols- SC elite, SFX elite, SA and the Combat elite with a Holosun red dot. Combat Elite is the best one to date. The SFX and SC also have red dots on them. My combat is my EDC pistol.
I have 2 I have an original TP9SA that has the best trigger of any pistol I’ve ever shot, and it’s the most accurate. It was less than $300 when I bought it. Now prices have gone up since everyone has found out how good they are. I’m waiting on a 10mm. Eric have you heard anything about a 10 coming????

Try my SFX rival yesterday, with a Vortex venom red dot. Really good acuracy, nice trigger, nowhere near as my Shadow 2 but better than my hK VP9, but what stood out was how low recoil it shoot. And the look is so aftermarket, nice work Canik.

This is an awesome looking gun, The slide work and barrel cuts are top notch and with the aluminium magwell and full cowitness red dot plate and the trigger which is basically a $300-$350 upgrade on anything else this is probably the gun of the year, And comparing it to guns like the FN509 edge at less than half the price it's a crazy good deal, All they need to do is make a version using this slide on the compact grip with a minimalistic aluminum magwell and it will be able to be carried, You can carry it now and its not to big but the grip is what makes it a bit bulky.
I love my mete. And I'm a glock fanboy. But their trigger they borrowed from Walther with a long slide sight radius and umph the 5.2 inch barrel gives hollow points is a win. And I got mine used for 480 out the door. The saying bang for the buck really does say it well. Great shooters. And I've prolly sold a few of them with my praise over the past 2 months to my friends.
I have two stainless steel Canik TP-9SFX an two stainless steel Taurus G3's and the magazines are interchangeable. I carry the TP-9SFX on my leg holsters and the G3's one on my hip and one on my chest rig. Now that's a lot of firepower and protection for myself and my family
Thanks for sharing. Don't own the Rival and haven't shot one. But, did check one out at a gun shop. Looked at several Caniks and each time I picked up the Rival it caused my brain to 'hiccup', because I was expecting the pistol to be heavier given the size. The cut outs on the slide are impressive and not just for looks.
I started buying Canik years ago before they got onto the radar. I can attest to Eric's praise of the trigger pull, my TP9SA and TP9SF have outstanding triggers for a service striker fired pistol. Canik has all of the boxes checked for a very reasonable realistic price and they are as good if not better than any of them out there no matter the brand.
The Shield Plus us one if the best micro-compacts out there and I hear the new M&P 10 is pretty good. I think the M&P series is most of the way there, they just need to improve the trigger.
just got one, put a cheap SFO sight on it, sighted it in within 5 minutes. Shooting 25 yrds with a 3 inch pattern free standing. Its a crazy good+fun gun to shoot.

The TP9 guns will use the same magazine if the well is deep enough. My TP9 Elite SC will use all the magazines from my other TP9s they just hang out further. Sweet guns!!!

I bought and shot my darkside for the first time. Now I haven't shot a gun in 3 years or so and it's my first pistol I've bought. After the first 5 I was able to get some decent grouping for someone that hasn't shot in 3+ years(definitely wasn't amazing). Did about 100 rounds, but I'm sure once I shoot more and get used to it..I'll be shooting perfectly 😊. Love this gun already.
I'm having the mag release issue with my new shield plus. It sticks out WAY more than my Shield 2.0 PC! I read that is intentional? Wow, I really do not like it!
Say Eric on the FX models you get three different size magazine buttons so I'm sure if you would have checked the Knick knack package in the guns case you probably get three different size ones that come with that gun also it usually comes with the middle one installed and they make a larger one and a smaller one so that problem can be solved of The accidental ejection of the magazine just so you know have a great day awesome video thanks again.
I noticed it on yours, every single rival the back sight is uneven. We have had about 10 come Thru the store so far and every single one is off. Best I’ve figured out it’s the spring that pushes up on it. They need a relief cut or a coil or two less on the spring.
i got the sfx and its the most fun pistol i ever shot. i ran blazers as well and had zero problems with 250 so far. even the cheap magtech ammo didnt jam at all. I wonder if people have to get use to the different grip if it stove pipes on them. if someone has a negative view on caniks i think they need to go shoot the sfx or the rival. I did like the old TP9 Elite when i shot it but this feels way better

Dude! It comes with different size mag release buttons in the bottom of the little gun/tool. The largest one is what they install at the factory.

Say Eric on the FX models you get three different size magazine buttons so I'm sure if you would have checked the Knick knack package in the guns case you probably get three different size ones that come with that gun also it usually comes with the middle one installed and they make a larger one and a smaller one so that problem can be solved of The accidental ejection of the magazine just so you know have a great day awesome video thanks again.

I noticed it on yours, every single rival the back sight is uneven. We have had about 10 come Thru the store so far and every single one is off. Best I’ve figured out it’s the spring that pushes up on it. They need a relief cut or a coil or two less on the spring.
Am I missing something because I don't see it?

i got the sfx and its the most fun pistol i ever shot. i ran blazers as well and had zero problems with 250 so far. even the cheap magtech ammo didnt jam at all. I wonder if people have to get use to the different grip if it stove pipes on them. if someone has a negative view on caniks i think they need to go shoot the sfx or the rival. I did like the old TP9 Elite when i shot it but this feels way better
