I’m watching the nightly free stream from the Met they are offering during the COVID19 pandemic. This is possibly the most epic thing I have ever seen. Two nights in and I can’t wait for the rest. Thank you so much.
TheKickingDonkey sadly I didn’t. I got as far on Friday night as the end of the second act of the last one and then I couldn’t fight the sleepiness anymore. I would love to finish it but don’t want to watch an pirated copy so I will have to find another way.
I agree a fanatstic staging! But for me the best Ring cycle ever is the cycle performed in Valencia: Fura dels Baus: The Valencia Ring. So deeply interpretated full with deep meaning (spirtuell, philosophic etc symbols and really referring to Wagner and Schopenhauer and more
My dad and I did a whole binge of The Ring Cycle since he bought it on DVD. It is one of the most daunting and incredibly beautiful operas I've ever watched and it's right up there with the Met's "Carmen". The level of detail in it's stagecraft and showing respect to the source material by showing the ancient Norse element of the legends blew my mind. It's gorgeous and worth watching.
I saw Walkure in 2011. I must be unusual because I loved the production, the Machine, and all the principal singers including Kaufmann, Westbroek, Blythe, Terfel, and Voigt.
@@TheKickingDonkey some people get really stuck on traditional stagings I think. But honestly the more of this production I watch the more I can appreciate the work that went into it. Even with some of its eccentricities. I just finished Siegfried tonight
Exactly. But: Lepage know well how to create memorable stage effects. But what's happening in between - is not so iteresting, all those people singing...
Thought this was gonna be an update trailer, showing more of the updated version of the scenery, turns out it's what I already have on BluRay. Disappointing.

I hope you managed to finish it today! What are your impressions? Favourite among the four?

I just now finished watching it (thanks to the MET's Corona stream). What's not to love about it?

It should be on any opera aficionado list. The finale of Das Rheingold is a must. Especially if a 45 piece orchestra is playing it.

@@SDreznin Bada bing; bada bang; bada boom!
to watch the Ring Cycle in full is something I plan to do before I die.
this is amazing! this trailer is very well done
Wow, what a production!
The rhinemaidens are perfection!!!!!
Looks really good.!!
I only recognize The ride of the Valkyries and Siegfried Funeral March, can anyone tell me the names of the other two?
Lugt Schwestern, Forest murmurs and I think Siegfried s rhine journey
Marco Catella the met is offering it for free on their website. But Das Rheingold is over already and Die Valkyrie is almost over
My Heart Will Go On by Celine
Was this recorded and where may I watch it?
Was Bryn in this????
Although not the best staging, it stills puts the attrocious Bayreuth productions to shame.
glory to mankind

They are using the same sets and machine.
@@ambrosejoseph4843 I know, but they said they updated it.
👍 потрясающе
Is that Peele from Key & Peele? 🤣
Yeah, he managed to pivot careers AGAIN!
Where are the big voices? We only have mosquitoes on stage
Pathetically small, nasal, constricted voices. It’s like broadway/pop singers singing the most dramatic repertoire in the artfrom. Oof.
on the achieve recordings lol
