Thank you so much for your kind comment, @raz619! 🙌 It's important that we all do our part in providing a healthy environment for our pollinators 🌼🐝 Happy gardening! 🌱👍
Yes it is, we are beekeepers and had 44 hives last year but they all were lost. A lot of fellow beekeepers lost all of their hives or 50% of them. This is a very serious issue and very concerning.
Good information, thanks. But I wish you hadn't filmed in the shade. It made it really hard to see what you were doing with your pruners. Question: I have sage sprouting all over, several feet from the parent plant. Seems to be connected by runner roots. Will pruning the parent plant create even MORE babies? I feel like my sage is out of control.
Could you make another video with better lighting or in the sun, with a huge sage plant--four feet across--never pruned? Maybe close in on your hands and the plant branch you're cutting. Underneath my Sage is piled with dead leaves. New growth all along every branch. You said:, "Anything else on the wood is what I would cut." At 3:24. I'm not sure what that means. Do you have a video of "how to prune a seven-year-old Heather, never pruned (doesn't flower until late August)? If so, link? BTW My Rosemary plant turned into a Christmas tree.
That was very helpful, but it was all in shade and I couldn't see the actual plant. Plus you need to zoom in closer to the plant to show where you are cutting. But very informative and I thank you for that. 👍😁
Thank you for your feedback, Maree! We'll make sure to adjust the lighting and zoom in closer in our future videos to ensure better clarity. 🌱👀 We appreciate your support and glad you found the information helpful! 🙌😊
Very good and easy to understand video, thank you. Now I know to look for the new growth. Sage is amazing for getting rid of heavy metals in the gut, eating 1 or more raw tablespoons of it a day is best. That information comes from Anthony William the Medical Medium. I actually now put sage in my guacamole, this is my recipe, 1 avocado, 4 or more cloves raw garlic, 1 medium raw onion, 1 lemon juiced, a little Himalayan sea salt to taste , 1 to 4 tbsp fresh herbs, and chilli peppers to taste! Since you took the time to share your time with me I wanted to give you a little of mine. 🤗 blessings to you.
Hi @riboalmira! 🌿🪴 Sage is best pruned back in the springtime or in early fall after its flowers have faded. 🍂🌼 Hope this helps in your gardening endeavors! 🌱🙌
+remi robichaud What's up remi robichaud, I am originally from Boston but now live in NC. Check out the gardener & author Eliot Coleman. He grows in dead of winter up in Northern Maine if I remember.
👋 Hi @sshelton4611, thank you for your feedback. We'll keep it in mind and work on improving the visuals for future videos 🌱👀. Nonetheless, we're glad you found the information helpful. Happy gardening! 🌻🥦
😂👌 Thanks for the comment, Terry! Glad to see you enjoying the channel. Don't worry, we all have those days where our feet might be a little dirtier than we'd like. Keep on gardening! 🌱🌻🍅
Thanks for the video. May I suggest you watch your lighting. You and the bush were in shade and your camera adjusted for the sunny background. As a result, we can't really see what you are doing. I get the just of the video and appreciate the information, but it was a bit painful and frustrating to watch. Good luck and thanks for all of the free advice.
On my sage plant, there is some white dots on some of the leaves. Do you know what that is? And what can I do about it? What is the cause? Bright Blessings!!!
@@GreenThumbGardener No. There is no brown leaves. The first leaves that grew from the winter months, turned yellow, to allow new leaves to grow. Usually healthy leaves grow from my other sage plants. I have several sage plants. Bright Blessings!!!
Beginning gardener here. Just found channel. Sub. Got sage going, rosemary(gonna watch your video in a min), johnny jump ups, cherry tomato plant, strawberry and peppermint, all in containers on my apartment porch. I'm gonna check out your videos, hoping to find some ideas for fall planting. Thanks.
🌿🪴 Hey @robbiesecker1859! Sage is pretty tough and can handle a trim early in the season. Just make sure to wait until any hard frosts have passed. As for the lilacs, try adding some compost or fertilizer to give them a boost. You could also play around with companion planting and adding some colorful annuals nearby to really make them pop. Good luck and happy gardening! 🌸🌼
Question: my potted sage was sitting in water for awhile, when I noticed the leaves falling off, I took it out of the pot and planted it in dry soil, will it recover? also, I broke off 2 branches, can I make cuttings and plant them?
How about a start with a thankyou for the info he decided to share with you, and ask a question later, nicely, Pedro, you spoiled shit. Have a fertile season, friendly greetings from South-East Netherlands to you both!
🌱🔪👍 You're welcome, Leesa! Cutting back your vegetables is a great way to keep them healthy and thriving. Just make sure to use sharp and clean tools to avoid damaging the plants. Happy gardening! 🌻🍅🥦"
👋 Hi lizzfrmhon, I'm sorry to hear that you had trouble seeing the video clearly! We appreciate your feedback and will do our best to improve the camera placement in future videos. 🌱🎥
Thank You for Your video, however I did not find it very helpful. Perhaps in the future You might consider getting closer with the camera so we can see exactly where/ what You were cutting, also please try to have more light on what You are showing.
Thank you for your feedback, Dennis! 😊 I apologize if the shade obstructed the view of the bush. To answer your question, the ideal time to cut down the bush will depend on several factors such as the particular species of plant and your climate. For most shrubs, it's best to wait until after they've finished blooming to avoid damaging future growth. 🌸 It's essential to research the shrub thoroughly to find the best time for maintenance. I hope this helps! 🌱👍
👋Hi @samcad-ho3ze, sorry to hear that you couldn't see the gardening activities clearly. We'll make sure to improve our video visibility in the future🌺🌱. Thanks for your feedback👍!
I appreciate your time and effort to share how to's, but your video was really disappointing. First of all, you didn't share what time of year was best, to cut back the Tx Sage. Then, I could see anything that you were doing, because of the shade that you and the plant were in. It would have been nice for you to be able to zoom in on the actual cutting. I hope I haven't insulted you in my concerns. Just wondering if anyone else had the same thoughts.
👋 Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment on my video. I'm sorry to hear that the quality of the video wasn't up to your standards. I'll definitely keep in mind your feedback on zooming in for future videos. The best time to prune your Texas Sage is in late winter or early spring before new growth appears. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts! 🌱🎥
7 minutes of the same information over and over. Nothing about what season is best, to harvest. To dry: and how to dry and when. What leaves to dry or discard.????
👋 Hi @caroleccagley214, thank you for your comment and feedback! We appreciate your thoughts and will definitely take them into consideration for future videos. As for your questions, it's important to harvest vegetables when they are mature, usually when they are firm and brightly colored. Depending on the type of vegetable, the best season to harvest can vary. For drying, it's best to choose healthy leaves, and discard any that are diseased or damaged. Timing and technique for drying can also vary based on the type of vegetable. We'll definitely try to cover this information in more detail in future videos! 🌿🌱🥕

+Carol Elkins Sorry about shade..they can get bushy..it is natural for plants to redirect energy when pruned

How did your turn out?
When I have to prune sage fall or spring?
Hi Eglys! 🌱🪴 You should prune your sage in the spring to encourage new growth for the growing season. Happy gardening! 🌻👩🌾
