Just ordered the same exact Y kit from Gulfcoast and was installing it today. Be advised since you uploaded the video they (Gulf Coast) changed the design. You no longer are using original rail with the Gulfcoast rails mounted to the sides and the bracket on top. They now have supplied their own bracket which you replace Creality’s and both rails now mount on the top 😮. Also, the original plate no longer works as the bracket holes as you have shown do not exist and are comprised of 8 small holes (4 on each rail) which forces you to buy their (Gulfcoast) plate (same as the single rail design) in order to now use the double rail set up.
I just wanted to make a note for others b/c I bought this kit off various recommendations, but mainly your video and ease of install. Took me a minute to figure out what was going on. Thing to note:
Be sure to 3D print their rail alignment guide prior to taking your machine apart. Luckily I have another machine and got saved.
Hope this helps someone in the future decide to buy. I’m excited to see how it prints. Now the plate just has to get here….😊

Because you have dual rails on the Y axis you need to loosen the screws securing the rails then install the mounting plate. After the plate has been installed, then tighten up the mount bolts for the rails. It should move smoothly after you have done this. No need for shims of any kind.
