Looks like a good repair. The tape probably protects the sun exposed edge of awning which gets all the sun & rain. Keep us posted on how well tape holds up!
Congrads on a job well done. Thanks for sharing. In my opinion, "Camco" is either Top Dog or Dead Last depending on the product. That old pathetic tape should give the top exec's unbearable shame followed by haunting nightmares. 😁
When the stitching starts letting go then it's time to replace the fabric. I did manage to get an extra year and a half out od mine. But finally the stitching started letting go so I finally replaced the material.
I just watched someone use Flex Seal liquid to repair their awning and it looked really good also. It sealed all the stitching and made material flexable again. I am going to try it. What say you?
great idea; im going to get that or something similar to repair a car shelter thats got pinholes in it from where the front arched panel was folded in the packing box, thereby creating vertical sharp seams which morphed into stress lines which morphed into pinholes, with wind flapping it a bit is morphing into bigger pinholes...how annoying; last winter the tape i put on held up until the deep winter temps then came off so im going to try your product...
It was really helpful that you showed us what you tried that did not work.

I will thx
How about a one year update on how this repair held up?
Good fix. Give Thomas a pet for us.🙋♂️🙋♀️
I will
How is it holding up now
Well it gave us an extra year and a half out of it. The stitching is letting go so its time for a new one.
? Weird comments⬇️? My awning needs this. Thanks for the tip. Will go get some Gorilla tape and not waste my money on the Camco stuff.
I don't know what's up with the weird comments. So far the gorilla seal tape is working nicely on my awning
I think that is a good idea. I would have used white tape since it helps to reflect light and heat
Nice repair
Did you roll the Black Flex tape over the deteriorating awning tape? Or ..How did you get it off the awning? Thanks in advance.

I see you got bubble under the tape. I would suggest rolling the awning tight for a smoother application and less bubbles.
I did exact same thing. Lasted about 3 yrs.
How has it held up?
It lasted a year and a half. I finally had to replace it
@@RvTipsandTrips did it just unstick itself?
Do you have any tips for the worn stiching

I think it will work out well.
My problem is the stitching rotted and now water leaks. Through, I would have covered the stitching
Bad stitching you will need to replace the fabric
Pant much?
