Abby, I just learned the coolest thing ever ever! one can of white beans not drained In the blender mixed with one box of brownie mix, I use the Trader Joe’s truffle, brownie mix, bakes into the most perfect brownies no other ingredients.
Nice! I will try this. You can do with tofu as well!
Can you taste the bean at all?
Wouldn’t you need to eat all of them to get the protein from the white beans ? Also sugar is the main ingredient in the mixture, so not sure if this is such a good product even with the white beans………
Just the two. No other items the brownie mix calls for?
There's all kinds of black bean brownie recipes online. The ones I've tried have all been great - and no, you can't taste the beans.
When I make oats on stove I add vanilla, salt, chia seeds then whisk in a scrambled egg. It tastes like custard. I top with fruit!
These were great! Instead of dieting, I just pack in as much good stuff as I can. Intentionally prioritizing protein has been helping me so much to get away from diet brain and restrictive impulses. It naturally crowds out the junk. I don’t have the room nor the desire for junk food most days. When I was sick recently, all I wanted was protein. Things are changing.
That’s awesome!!! Inspiring!!! Keep it up!!!
Yesss honestly getting protien is so hard for me, I don't have room for anything else
Changing my focus to protein has been very helpful. I absolutely see much better progress in my muscle building and weight loss, though I was never fat. You eat a lot less when you focus on eating protein.
Definitely, having fiber and protein goals, that must be obtained from natural sources and not supplements, is way easier for me than calorie counting. I can even have junk food in the house that goes uneaten for weeks that way. I literally don't want it if dinner keeps me full for the rest of the evening.
Thanks for giving inexpensive options too
Always!!
THIS.
This is so clever- simple, common sense ways to add nutrition to what we already like to eat. And no demonising foods. Love it
I had gastric bypass surgery 4 years ago. I am supposed to eat a very high protein diet so this is very helpful. Thank you so much.
I've been following your for years. And this is definitely one of my favourite because it's super useful
I'm so glad! Thanks for the support lovely
Okay, the upgrading dips and adding protein powder to cereal milk is going to be an absolute gamechanger for me, thank youuuu!
Yogurt in hummus is genius!
OMG Loving this new series Abbey! Great hacks. I love Cottage cheese on its own (I am one of those people lol) but I will also be trying some of these hacks!
Yayy cottage cheese is so good, I'm def one of those people too
@@AbbeysKitchen haha yes!
I put a tbsp of syrup in my cottage cheese to add sweetness
As a cruelty-free food lover I want to thank you for the vegan options. They are very helpfull. Thank you so much.
Unfortunately, no food is cruelty free.
Always love your hacks Abbey! Thanks for doing what you do!🎉
This was actually such a great video! I love how I can incorporate most of these tips into our family’s diet-thank you Abbey! 😊
This is great. I need to watch again and make note of all these things to try.
Abby mind blowing how you showed me how to pair foods that I love to increase my protine intake. I liked how you included the protine count for each pairing. Abby your videos are informative and down to earth. You never disappoint 🇨🇦
Abbey I absolutely love how actionable and grounded your tips are in all your videos. Thanks for sharing!!
My family was really unsure about the texture of chickpea pasta. I love the extra protein and fiber, but I noticed the difference as well! Now, I mix half chickpea pasta and half traditional white pasta. It still boosts the nutrients without upsetting delicate neurodivergent palates!!!
This is the first video I've seen from your channel and its EPIC - thank you so much!
This has been so helpful, thank you Abbey!!
Just an FYI for Canadians, the custom and duties on the Aquasana comes to over 120 bucks! So if you use a 3rd party shipper you might want to consider that when checking out. I know I wish I had...
This is actually a helpful video with NEW ideas. Thank you! 🙏
Thanks Abbey! I recently asked her for tips on sneaking in more protein throughout the day, and this video is on point. 😊
Loving these tips! Definitely going to try the protein oats. Thanks Abbey!
Love the video, super helpful
Super helpful 😍 thanks for sharing!!
just what I needed!!!! thank you for this video 😊
Another great video, thanks Abbey 💚
I'm so glad I found your channel recently. I've subscribed & hit the bell. This information is fabulous and coming at a time of frustration. I have been diagnosed with osteoporosis, and as a senior, I find I can't seem to fit in enough protein. I also try to practice being gluten-free as I have found my joints are very sore when I have too much as well as my eczema flares up as well. Any of the dieticians I've met with haven't been nearly as helpful as you have been. Thank you for your information and ideas. 😊
Thanks Abbey, very helpful!
I just love your style. It is so comforting to have someone knowledgeable ease my mind with all this myths circling around that were really making me afraid of entire food groups or things like fruits and oats...
I just recently started watching your channel, Abbey. I love your no-nonsense dietary advice! We don't have to over-complicate things to eat healthy. These are all really good and simple ways to boost protein intake, which also has the benefit of increasing satiety at meals. I have done many of these that you mentioned, and I also got some new ideas for things to try. Thank you!
Wow! Thank you for these great ideas!
I’d love a similar video for fiber! I always struggle to incorporate enough fiber in my diet especially when traveling.
Underripe bananas and dates have good fibre amounts and easy to carry around, also different raw bars made of dried fruits/seeds/nuts. Dehydrated fruits/vegs also a good option but can be expensive.
Loved this video so much! You gave me some great ideas and options that I never even thought of. Thanks for the great info and by the way, you look gorgeous in that blouse ❤
Thank you. ❤ These are brilliant and clever tips!
These are fabulous. Thank you.
These are such great hacks, can't wait to try egg white in the oats trick! Thanks for sharing 😊
Great video, thank you!! Very helpful.
Great tips! Adding yogurt to hummus will be a game changer for me! Thank you!
Awesome hacks! Thank you!
I can 10000% agree on the chia pudding made with kefir! I do it with raspberry kefir, chia, a bit of oats, and then berries on top. Absolutely delicious
This is so helpful thank you!!
Thank you Abbey, you're the ultimate fun food dietician.
Some new things that I've not seen before, adding hemp hearts to oatmeal and I didn't know cooking rice in bone broth would add that much protein. Thanks for including options that don't involve dairy or eggs.
So helpful! Thank you!
Great ideas! Thank you ❤
Grest tips! Thank you!!
I love that you offer options for different dietary restrictions! I’m vegan and I love getting advice from you about how I can maximize my nutrition.
Love this!
Love these tips!
Your recent videos are hitting the spot for me! Good topics
Abbey, this is GOLD! I tried hemp hearts in my oatmeal this morning and I am fully obsessed. I also love that only one of the tips involved protein powder.
You can even find recipes for making a hot cereal using only hemp hearts in lieu of oats.
I just ran across this video and you. You are very easy to listen to unlike a lot of others I have run across. Thank you for the tips.
Will definitely be trying some of these!!
Yay!!!
Thank you - love videos like this :) so helpful. please do more!
Loved it! Thank you
Oh wow!! This was very interesting AND informative - Thank you for sharing :)
Amazing reccos! Been trying to rely less on protein powders and already used hemp hearts and egg whites in oats! These are very useful tips 😊
these hacks are so helpful as a college student too!
The hemp hearts oatmeal sounds like a great idea. Will definitely try it soon!
That IS a great idea! I like hemp hearts, and have sprinkled them on top of oats, but never thought to swap out 1/2 oats for 1/2 hemp hearts. Love it!
Thanks, just had my mac and cheese with cottage cheese mixed in. (blended smooth) Also added shredded carrots, arugula and spinach.
Took that meal to the next level.
I have been adding egg white protein powder to oatmeal and smoothies. Love that you have an egg white hack for oats too!!!
Great tips thank you.
Thank you, simply brilliant!
Fantastic. Just what im looking for. Subscribing!
Lovely tips❤
Love your channel 😊
OMG I love your shirt! ❤
I really enjoyed this hack video!
Dang, these are awesome! Thanks!
Love this! Oatmeal is my fave breakfast and I already add hemp hearts and chia seeds along with a GIANT spoonful of peanut butter, but I’ve never thought to cook the hemp hearts along with the oatmeal or the proats! Gonna try those next for sure because hemp hearts are my go-to protein boost!
Yeah, I eat oatmeal just about every morning for breakfast, and I like hemp hearts but never thought of cooking them in with 1/2 oats and 1/2 hemp hearts. Great idea! BTW, I also love a giant spoonful of peanut butter (or other nut butter) mixed in with my oats! 👍 It tastes so good, and I love the creamy texture!
I can't wait to go grocery shopping and incorporate some of these tips into my meals!!
Abby I just want to let you know I love you and you’ve helped me so much! Your protein powder looks amazing but I don’t have the money for it, but I would buy it if I could. I wanna be like you one day in my registered dietitian journey ❤❤❤
Great hacks! Thanks 🙏
Just started my Wegovy journey this month (down 17 lbs so far!) and I watched all of your videos with Ginger the other day and got hooked on you two! I am pretty good about getting my protein in but I really, really appreciate your knowledge and this video in particular because protein is SO important to me right now and I definitely struggle with decision fatigue when it comes to rotating meals so I don't get bored! I cannot tell you how helpful your channel has just become to me over the past week...THANK YOU!
Ahhhhhhhh I loved reading this!!! Wishing you so much love and support on your journey! ❤
@@GingerBertrand Ahh! Oh my gosh, thank you so, SO much! What a nice comment to wake up to! Oh I really appreciate the support & thank you both again for everything you do❤️
100 pds down and two and a half years later on Wegovy! Keep at it…it’s worth it!
This was super helpful, and I like cottage cheese but didnt know it had so much protein. I usually skip the protein in a meal because it is the least appetising or most difficult to cook so I am glad to find sources as I rely on milk and peanut butter a lot. you hack philosophies are really amazing on a whole scope of topics, and I am defo trying to get my meals on track for weight gain to avoid hospital again. thank you
This was actually really useful and not just ANOTHER protein smoothie overnight oats video. There are millions of those online and somehow they all have the same damn recipes too.
I Love this video. It is so needed in a carb filled society.
great video. game changing hacks
Some of these I hadn’t ever thought of. Thank you!!!! I love throwing a scoop of my collagen protein powder into my oatmeal after it’s cooked, as well as peanut butter powder for extra protein. I don’t even need maple syrup!
Sorry for the bad news but collagen is not a replacement for protein powder. Collagen does not provide protein in the same way as the foods Abby mentions in the video. This is easy to confirm via a google search. :(
LOVED THIS VIDEO!
For a vegan option, you can replace the cottaged cheese in the guac wtih mashed white beans. It adds more protein, fibre and flavor as well to the guac!
I add lentils to my ground beef dishes. I don't eat white rice - but I make half quinoa and half brown rice. I also put protein powder in my milk for tea/coffee etc. I hate white beans to eat on their own but blended in soup ok, but I love chickpeas. If you are protein hacking you need to realise aside from soy all plant proteins are not going to give you the digested/absorbed grams stated on the packet - think in terms of 60% average of what is stated. (just so you don't under protein yourself.)
I literally manifested this video. I was just wondering how to add extra protein to my meals as I'm struggling! Boom, you deliver 😅
What great ideas!!!
Love these tips, thank you! I never knew that bone broth has protein in it. I'll start using that instead of regular broth.
I absolutely LOVE the protein oats!!! I make them on my day off. I add hemp hearts and almond butter as toppings!! Seriously the best tasting oats ever. But I always feel like I am doing something wrong when I eat them, because they are SO demonized
Thank you Abby
I love your Advice & Suggests. You Should Make a Pamphlet or Book of all this Info. I can't remember it all
This is so helpful, especially the cottage cheese hacks! I’ve been trying to find ways to get more cottage cheese into my diet, but I don’t love the base texture and flavor is meh to me, so I have to blend it into other things. Definitely will be trying out some of the ways to do so that you talked about!
Try adding pineapple and cinnamon. Tastes kinda like cheesecake
Amazing! Thanks for
My wife and I add in half a serving of shredded cheese and some Greek yogurt to our scrambled eggs. It gives them a great fluffy texture and adds protein.
That sounds good! 😋
i LOVEEEE cottage cheese with avocado toast! it tastes so good and adds great flavor :)
I LOVE THIS
another hack I love is adding bone broth to my steel cut oats, I prefer savory oats, so I'll cook the oats with bone broth (instead of water), add an egg on top and a little bit of low fat shredded cheese. Super savory and filling breakfast.
I love cottage cheese in syrniki! Keeps you satisfied and lots of protein!!
I made avocado toast with cottage cheese for breakfast this morning - yummy and super filling! Trying the kefir chia pudding next…
Thanks!
I like a creamy ranch salad dressing. My hack is to blend up some cottage cheese with my salad dressing or add a scoop of cottage cheese to my salads. My second hack is to add greek yogurt to a meal or snack. I like whole milk varieties when I can find them. I'm diabetic, so reducing carbs and adding protein is super important for me! Thanks for all the tips and advice!
Great hack!!!
