Great tutorial, thank you! Can you refrigerate a buttercream cake overnight (no fondant) with gold leaf on it, without the gold evaporating or being ruined??
Can I refrigerate overnight a cake covered in swiss meringue buttercream with the gold leaf on it? And of course the gold leaf to be not ruined until next day
It is actual gold, which is why it's expensive. But that purity is also why it's edible. Definitely an accent for special occasions rather than an everyday thing!
It is expensive but a little bit goes a long way - a packet will come with several sheets and you only need a sheet (or less) for each cake so if you think you'll be using it on a lot of cakes it's a good investment because it will last you a long time
Hey! Thank you for the video! What can we use in place of alcohol?

How do I use powdered gold ...to decorate....please advised
I have a tutorial on edible gold powder here: th-cam.com/video/8JYoQ7zOFAw/w-d-xo.html
Pretty! Where did you buy the gold leaf, please? Thank you!
Thanks! I bought it on Amazon
Can we stick silver leaf on butter frosting
Absolutely! If the buttercream has set you can press it against the cake to attach it without worrying about damaging the frosting
Is there a place you can buy gold leaf at a decent price? It seems so expensive for such a little amount.

Do you use loose leaf or transfer please?
Leaf
How about applying to macarons??? I’ve seen videos where they say to also use vodka to apply the gold leaf. I don’t think you did in this video.
Can you mix the gold leafing directly with Everclear, to brush onto the cake surface? Everclear is what Americans call pure ethyl alcohol.
