god that dark brotherhood robes are magnificent, simple and beautiful at the same time. i always loved those robes really suits mysterious vibes of the dark brotherhood
I preferred the old ones. They were sneaky, discrete and at the same time they appeared very costly upclose, so they gave an aurea of nobility to the wearer. They shouted something like "you don't know who I am and for your sake good you don't want to know that". The kind of robes a fantasy secret society's high member would wear. The new ones have too much going on. The red doesn't help with sneaking, the general vibe, with the book attached to the waist, makes you look something more like a necromancer than an assassin. The pin doesn't help either, the symbol is too much well known in Tamriel to just show it around during your travels. The whole thing shouts too much "Hay, I'm about to do something evil, alert the guards". It's too much for a traveling robe and too little for a ceremonial one. That's one of the cases when you say "less is more".
It's kinda insane how this mod almost clowns the original game. Literally everything and ESPECIALLY weapon, armor, and location designs are straight up WAY. FUCKING. BETTER. Like, it's no contest, when this comes out, it will be the finest ES game ever made, hands down.
Something I do want to critique is the sand textures and at times the dirt textures in these videos look odd. Do you guys have any plans to tweak those textures?
I prefer the old versions of the Dark Brootherhood's armors. The old ones have a general vibe of subterly and clearly stated the wealth of the wearer. These ones look too much fantasy, like a Charnival costume. I hardly see anyone sneaking around dressed like that. I know sometimes is hard to nail that sweet spot where something is believable, but it's still set in a fantasy game. The funny thing is with the Daedric armor they walked backward instead. The original one had too many details for how many pixels there were on the screen, the new one is more minimal. It's ok.
I'm not a fan of "remasters" (official or not) who change a lot of the original game content, but I'm gonna disagree on this one. Oblivion's DB armor look like a bad reskin of leather armor+a black hood (one that even seems stick with superglue to their heads), they look wayy too silly. 2:36 that outfit looks more realistic and mobile (it even seems like something out of the first Assassin's Creed games), but the colors are way too colorful and carnival-esque as your said. While 3:03 dark version looks perfect to me. I have mixed views with Daedric armor, I don't like that they removed all those details (Skyrim and Morrowind's ones were also complex and not just random steel plates) but at the same time, without those intricate designs it looks kinda like one of those daedric towers you find in-game, the helmet's crown even resembles the top of one of those "Sigil Keeps"
@@DiocletianLarius of course the original DB's leather armor seems silly now. Every Oblivion's armor looks silly now. They are armors that were meant to be shown on 720p monitors and even 480p monitors. Technology had many other limitations back then. Most of those armors can't be simply "ported" in a new game. That's not the point. The point is to replicate the vibe the authors meant to deliver with those looks. DB's leather armor was meant to make you look like some kind of brute, a fanatic madman no one knows if it's part of a guild or something. The new armor, even the black version, clearly states you are part of the DB and you don't want to walk around like that, and that you are wealthy. Daedric armors wanted to appear like the product of a civilization. The intricate design, the runes on the armor... They were silly at the time because you couldn't even distinguish one rune from the other, but with nowadays technology it is possible. So I don't understand why they didn't try.
Well, the armor in Skyrim was made with an emphasis on realism, and in Skyblivion they kept the involvement of the original armor, but also with an emphasis on realism like in Skyrim, I think it's not so bad, because I understand that it was important to preserve the atmosphere of Oblivion, because it's not just a modification for the game, and if the armor was the same, it would be out of place, I think
maybe, its just nostalgia, but i'm very dissapointed with the daedric armour. More specifically the helmet, that design was so good in the og and now it looks plain. i have the same problem with the dwemer but otherwise these look very cool. Great Vid!
I don't like how they changed the Dwemer Armor. The iriginal from oblivion looked like it was lamellar armor with eastern influences. The one they made for skyblivion looks like a European full plate armor with dwemer flavor
i feel like they upgraded bad looking ones and downgraded great ones like dwemer or deadric and dark brotherhood armour is beautiful but too bright for something that hides in shadows
And I don't like how they redrawn the Dwarven armor, because it's a completely different armor now. The option that made 4thUnknown much more similar. The Daedric has become more beautiful, but it has lost its details

Those dark brotherhood robes are new listener robes, black hand robes look more simple. And the dark version of the armor is now ocheeva's armor

Deadric armor from orginal game far more better than new look aswell as mythic dawn armor, both new looks is not good, i hope they work more on these.

I just wish they'd use the blades and imperial heavy armor from skyrim instead of remaking oblivion's version of them.

I think the blade armor is a recolored version of Skyrim's. Could be a placeholder though
