- BEAST Broadheads VS. SEVR Broadheads || Best Mechanical Broadhead for Deer Hunting. In this week's video, we compare the Beast Broadhead designed by Josh Bowmar to the Sevr Broadhead. The Beast broadheads are relatively new to the market when compared to the Sevr broadhead, but the technology of the Beast broadhead has me questioning if the Sevr is still the best mechanical broadhead for deer hunting.
Josh Bomar used to shoot sevrs and videos on them, which he modeled his broadhead around that design and did some tweaks of his own, but that’s the Broadhead he originally was shooting before he made his
Thats a fact. His videos led me to research Sevr back in 2018-2019.
He shot levi morgan swackers as well
@devingomez3312 I think when they teamed up on the nose button, he was testing/shooting the Levi broadheads.
Love my sevrs. First hunt with them and I smoked a buck and doe 4 minutes apart.
😳😳😳 That sounds like an awesome hunt, but it also involves a long, painful night of deer dragging 😂
Dragging? 😂 we dont drag no more lop@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors
I know….everyone packs them out 😂
Packs, ebikes or sneaks the yota down the trails to pick one up lol@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors
How would the opening tabs on the SEVRs not affect the penetration of the arrow? There are 2 full tabs running along the blade when it’s open
According to Sevr, when the blades are deployed, the tabs push the blades open more, resulting in a bigger cut. I can say that the entrance hole is typically always bigger than advertised.
This is easy. Can’t replace the blades on a beast, Sevr is $6/set to replace.
Great point.
Don’t know anything about the beast head, but it looks like there is a screw. It holds everything together going through the ferrule.
Why wouldn’t you be able to replace the blades?
@charlesbeaver5665, that's a great question. It would be nice to be able to purchase them instead of buying new broadheads every time.
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors oh, so they don’t sell replacements?
@charlesbeaver5665 the beast broadheads do not offer replacement blades. Sevr does.
Nasty n deadly, by the way is either one of these broadhead one of the popular or most used
The Sevr is the most used because it's been out longer, but the Beast is currently the most popular.
After some personal testing with the beast broadheads. I’d recommend literally anything else. The blades close on soft tissue and If the blade does hit any hard objects they Roll really bad. And only 2 in a pack is obviously just dumb on all levels for $60.
Seen too many gel tests where the beast broadhead fails to open or stay open if gel can make the blades close back up ill never trust it in an animal.
They say the gel is denser than animal tissue, so it's not a good comparison 🤷🏻♂️
The spring system for blade deployment looks REALLY CLOSE to that of the Veteran and Combat Veteran heads.
Does the Beast even offer replacements blades? If not then why buy the heads in the first place?
No replacement blades are available for purchase.
Sevr is just a better head
Sevr does make a great product.
In my humble opinion, the Beast broadhead will not stand the test of time in its current configuration. It has three strikes against it right out of the box. 1st off, it’s too complicated, 2nd, it requires special finger gloves to reset, and 3rd, it is way too expensive. I just don’t see how it overcomes these obstacles, but we’ll see.
You are correct, but they are impossible to buy just pre-order or get on a wait list. As long as they can't keep them in stock, they will be sticking around. I personally won't spend that much on them until they have replacement blades and tips
@roryrohrer7640 not having replacement blades is a downside.
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors The thought of a one and done $60’s hurts my stomach.
@jimmiekaelin4804 Replacement blades would be nice
Keep hearing stories of small exit wounds with Sevr i guess when the blades move all around u never know whats gonna happen
Yes. If they hit bone and pivot, you'll get a smaller exit. Whats what makes the beast more appealing
Both deer killed with them have has great blood trails, Both exited, huge wound channels. Deer didn't got 40 yards. Double lung.
@krisshepherd740 great insight.
Beast head is 🔥🔥🔥
I had terrible flight with these unfortunately
Which one?
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors sever.
I believe certain arrows and bows prefer certain heads. Like a gun and ammo
Thats a bummer. The 1.75 and the 1.5 have always been spot on, but I agree. You need to figure out what works best for your setup. Thats the fun part.
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors yes. I have carbon one. It gets squirrely with certain arrows but loves the eastons.
It hates certain fixed blades but it shoots darts with the slick trick assaliants. So I run with what it likes.
@@WesternNyBigfootif you have poor arrow flight with mechanicals, you need to tune your bow. Most likely your rest is at an angle and is shooting arrows crooked.
The new hybrids perform better than these two.
I would rather buy a foreign broadhead off Amazon than the Beast just out of sheer principal.
A lot of people feel this way.
Beast=don't fly like field tip
Have you tested them?
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors yes! no where near fly like a field tip and believe me I have all my 9 bows tuned to big fixed numerous heads day 6 Evo x exodus and lots more
@greekmaster1001 Thanks for the feedback. Comments backed by feedback are helpful. 98% of people that have trashed talked them haven’t even purchased them.
@@greekmaster1001this is a lie, you’ve never ordered from us. Interesting why you would choose to spread hate. That’ll bring you bad luck this fall 😂.
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoorsyea that dude never ordered from us. 😑
