- Great coaching session. Thanks a lot to Nick!
I improved my personal best lap time for more than half a second given the colder weather now.
The built-in GoPro GPS is not as accurate as the Le Mans' lap timer, but close enough for self-analysis. Based on my research, it has a good update rate of 18Hz, but positional accuracy is limited by its small antenna inside.
The official best time provided by Le Mans Go Kart is 35.087, while GoPro GPS data indicates 35.07. From the 3rd lap, times generally vary less than 0.1s compared to official timing results. The first 2 lap times vary 0.293s, 0.252s respectively due to satellite connection at the beginning.
Today was a bit cloudy, which affects the GPS signal quality. Speed data is delayed for a few tenths, and also can be averaged for a short section instead of spot-on real-time.
Look forward to racing the August Enduro event, and will focus on smooth and fast corner exits.

Awesome video
It blows my mind that the best time on this track is in the 33's
I got got mid 35s in the wet yesterday in the damp but my lines were different to the guy on the videos
You used to be able to cut corners back a few years ago before they introduced the yellow sensors which slow down the kart.
Do you have a video link to the WR lap time?
My best is 33.5 but you have to cut corners for that. Without cutting my best is 34.4 ish
Nice video mate, I'm going to Le Mans tomorrow so I'm watching this video to help me. What does the radar with the G next to the speedo mean?
G meter means the combined acceleration, in the unit of gravity (9.8 m/s2). Good luck with your driving tomorrow, have fun!
@Athrun Li thanks mate. Any pro tips for the track tomorrow?
what camera are you using?
GoPro Hero10 Black
Did you need to brake at all, because it felt like i needed to brake when i went on it, or else i would just oversteer, unless your meant to oversteer to get good corner speed
No brakes (when it's dry) lift on 2 corners on entry let it slid a little then full throttle again before mid corner my best was 34 with that strategy.
Lemans are getting new karts soon so will see soon if it's any different
Do they not slow the kart when you go over the white lines?? I have been caught a couple times. Best i get is a 36.9 keeping between the lines hahahaha
The actual slow-down boundary is not what you see on the track. Using all the hidden track limits is the key to those tops. I only notice it when following top ranked drivers during an Enduro
Yellow lines are where the sensors are...
I genuinely smoke you check this months leaderboards I’m at the top lad
do the carts even go 80? and check again sometime next week ill smoke everyone
I think they used too years ago...
Max 62 these days. They getting new karts this week/weekend will go check it out @@cannabisaurusrex5358
How'd you get the overlay data?
GPS data stored within GoPro recording. Many 3rd party softwares can process that.
What software did you use?
whats best way to use Racechrome? getting hero 11 this week and seen that you use this program.
@@CLUBBY261 For rental/hire kart, the easiest way is recording the GoPro footage with GPS enabled (should be the default setting). Wait ~20 seconds after turning GoPro ON without any cover/roof to get satellites connected, otherwise the full footage losing the GPS/speed info. Then copy videos into your phone before use racechrome import function, selecting data type as GoPro MP4, which will analyse the GPS info embedded into the video.
@@athrunli1365 thanks for the info getting hero 11 tomorrow sometime got event at lemans tomorrow night will use old Tom tom for that and try gopro next month.
thought they meant do like 80kmh?
They are certainly limiting the power output, probably limit the engine top RPM. I can clearly feel the power cut after reaching ~60km/h. It's the common thing that most rental/hire karting do to lower their maintenance cost, and people visit just don't know. I saw oversea hire karting having unlimited karts that can reach over 75km/h, not in Australia. If you want the power and speed, buy your club racing kart, even 4SS 10hp engine can give you near 90km/h.
@@athrunli1365 that sucks as they advertise they have the fastest karts in Australia 60kmh way to slow. wouldn't call it a superkart
@@CLUBBY261 It's true that those kart runs no where near 80km/h on their track, but other karting places are even slower. It's still the fastest around Melbourne. Acekarts run less than 55km/h, while karting madness is limited by the track layout.
@@athrunli1365 i do like the braybrook karts , ace karts need to be faster so does phillip island
You could be faster if you weren't so jerky on the steering wheel.
True. I wasn't at that level when I had this video. Now I'm focusing on my own 4-stroke kart practicing at a local club and keep improving given a consistent performing machine.
