The actual slow-down boundary is not what you see on the track. Using all the hidden track limits is the key to those tops. I only notice it when following top ranked drivers during an Enduro

True. I wasn't at that level when I had this video. Now I'm focusing on my own 4-stroke kart practicing at a local club and keep improving given a consistent performing machine.

Too long ago, can't remember. But generally speaking I definitely had the experience of being pushed & spin/collide, which is one of the main reasons that I bought my own kart and practice at club.

Yes, it is customizable in RaceChrono Pro. Also plan to add RPM and engine cylinder head temperature data from the datalogger I installed on the kart

@@athrunli1365 thanks for the info i used it with free trial few months ago and thinking buying it as gopro quick app wont ad my gps data to video for saving. it allows you to edit it and view it but wont save so bit over it.

You used to be able to cut corners back a few years ago before they introduced the yellow sensors which slow down the kart.

Do you have a video link to the WR lap time?

My best is 33.5 but you have to cut corners for that. Without cutting my best is 34.4 ish

I checked the video you mentioned, which was about a heavily tuned FK8 with 250kW and Cup 2 tyres(seems to be wider than 245mm stock setting), while my car has stock power and less gripy (likely narrower as well) tyres. Times are not comparable, very different cars. Sandown has such long straights that boost in power can make big time difference. In the following track day, I improved to 1:31.7 on the same set of tyres. Definitely possible to do 1:30 if pushing harder and fully disable ESP.

whats best way to use Racechrome? getting hero 11 this week and seen that you use this program.

@@CLUBBY261 For rental/hire kart, the easiest way is recording the GoPro footage with GPS enabled (should be the default setting). Wait ~20 seconds after turning GoPro ON without any cover/roof to get satellites connected, otherwise the full footage losing the GPS/speed info. Then copy videos into your phone before use racechrome import function, selecting data type as GoPro MP4, which will analyse the GPS info embedded into the video.

You need to find a host organization, only selected dates are available but always a few days every month. You won't be able to access the track by your own. For Sandown, mainly Tampered Motorsport and Driver Dynamics that I know, and some car brand companies/clubs may host events.

G meter means the combined acceleration, in the unit of gravity (9.8 m/s2). Good luck with your driving tomorrow, have fun!

I only pick cooler months in the year to attend track days, so I did not experience any. I also cool down a bit every 3 laps, just the way I care my car, not hard on a new lap record. I want to leave the track without any trouble at the end of the day... Just my personal approach. The stock brake rotor and pads do not hold very well, especially the rear slightly heat bending itself after the first track day you watched. It is no longer an issue after I replaced a better quality DBA T3 rear rotor and all Endless MX72+ pads. Check my newer lap video in 2022 that explains the light mod in the description. If you want to push 12~15min a session without any cooling lap in between, I don't think many production cars can hold.

@@athrunli1365 cheers! makes sense that you do cool down laps, as do i. just find it funny how the americans are overheating it. from what ive read, it doesnt seem like they do any cool down laps and just hard lap it for 15-20mins.

They are certainly limiting the power output, probably limit the engine top RPM. I can clearly feel the power cut after reaching ~60km/h. It's the common thing that most rental/hire karting do to lower their maintenance cost, and people visit just don't know. I saw oversea hire karting having unlimited karts that can reach over 75km/h, not in Australia. If you want the power and speed, buy your club racing kart, even 4SS 10hp engine can give you near 90km/h.

@@athrunli1365 that sucks as they advertise they have the fastest karts in Australia 60kmh way to slow. wouldn't call it a superkart

@@CLUBBY261 It's true that those kart runs no where near 80km/h on their track, but other karting places are even slower. It's still the fastest around Melbourne. Acekarts run less than 55km/h, while karting madness is limited by the track layout.

0:05 brake slightly, depending on the kart you got, lighter the better as long as you can turn; 0:15 medium~firm brake for a short period of time transfer the weight and then full accelerate; 0:22 firm braking; 0:32 normally need a lift of throttle but really good tyre can do full blast with a late APEX. I did a slightly better time in the later season 34.9x

Old mate is doing very, very well for a first go. Car is being pushed a decent bit, getting close to the limit of adhesion at quite a few points.

Thanks for your feedback. It looks much smoother than reality because of the GoPro electronic stabilization.
