*Real cool knife, and great explanation of it's tedious disassembly/reassembly idiosyncrasies; maybe that's why it's called the BRAT.*

No Knife is safe from the disassembly treatment. They can try to make it difficult but Vu still figures it out! I really enjoy these videos you do. Thank you for your time and sharing.
I'm sort of on the fence about this particular model. One one hand it should be very tough with the way the handle housing is. It seems very "modular" in the way it's designed. The blade lockup sounds real solid.

@@vucachon Well after seeing you tear one of these down and hearing the action on your video I have one ordered. Hopefully it will be a good unit. We'll see. Thing looks tough. It is certainly unique. Unique is nice.

Well my Brat arrived today. Unfortunately mine has an extremely light, almost non-existent detent in the closed position. It had even managed to slightly open itself during shipping in its box, and I've never seen that before with any knife purchase. As a double whammy the button lock had a bit of stick also in the open position when you tried to close it. Unlike most Kizers, this one came with a dab of clear grease on the blade where the button engages blade when fully open. It looks like they didn't polish that area at all like on my other Kizer button locks. Dunno about the closed detent problem or what is making it so weak. If I had to guess I'd say they probably didn't mill that deep enough. But I'm not taking it apart. It's going back for a refund. Real disappointing. If there is a strange one out there to get, they always seem to come my way.. LOL. Blade grind was good on the edge, but not my sharpest from factory Kizer. The handle and ergos were good. Felt good in the hand. A shame this one had issues. I hope they tighten up the QC a bit on that action work.

Mine has blade play in the pivot . The pivot hole is slightly oversized, causing the blade to rock up and down while applying force. No side to side play at all.

I don't see how this could ever be a durable knife. I'd like to see a durability test on that handle. I don't think I'd trust it for anything other than light duty work. Nice teardown.

Completely agree. When I got mine, I immediately realized the size of the liners, or lack there of. There is absolutely no way this knife holds up to long term use with those 2 small screws holding the liner. The knife itself is beautiful, the handle has a great shape and feel, the action is nice and crisp. I love the idea they were going for but that liner situation has me returning the knife.
