Finally got my Accra shaft in. Originally had at 46 in and couldn’t find the center of face. Cut down to 45 inches and paired it with Ai Smoke Max. Got Sw to D0. Easiest and Most Consistent driver shaft I have ever owned. Thanks for the Video saved me 600 USD.

I have a slow SS (85) and was fit for an AF SF405 (not at TXG). Played it for a year. Found that I had to swing really smooth to get it to perform. Have talked to others with same issue. Switched to Tensei Blue 65 stiff and really like that I can swing as hard as I want.

Try the Fuji Speeder NX Green in the 40g or 50 g . Very similar to the accra you just tested where the Speeder NX blue is more in line with autoflex. I got 181 mph ball speed multiple times but more importantly kept them in play.

MobileClubMaker and Mr Shortgame tested cheaper options to AF and showed really good results with the Evenflow Riptide Cb in senior flex. Based on that I got a $50 Evenflow Riptide CB in stiff 45.5 and instantly improved my strike pattern and trajectory. Felt whippy compared to the 44 hzrdus I had been playing but still stable. I was a little scared to go all out in the A flex

Hi i built this shaft approx 250 cdn dollars and it works well for my swing. I seem to be tighter dispersion than my stiff driver shaft…. Not sure how?? I dont think i gained much distance but i like how much little effort i need to put in to get good results.

This is something I need to explore for myself. I'm a X100/Tensei white x guy that had to quit early last year due to wrist pain (arthritis) I've already found great results with A flex 65g/KBS PGI iron shafts. I have a tensei white S in my TSR3 right now, and planning to see how light I can go before the season starts in WI.

I know this is a bit of an older video, but i wanted to share my experience. I recently picked up one of these shafts used for $40. Having never tested the autoflex, i cant speak to that, but what i found with this shaft is that i hit the ball incredibly straight, however... i lost a significant amount of distance. Losing around 15 yards (especially when i only hit it 250-260 to begin with) is just not something im comfortable with. However, i never missed a fairway with it. If nothing else, this experience has shown me how badly i need to get a proper fitting.

Very interesting. Were both shafts 46 inches? Also, was it in fact the 48 gram MO flex that Ian hit, the extreme softest flex in the 140 category? I have seen several reviews where they used the 140 series, but in other weights and flexes, such as M4. Did you try out other slightly stiffer flexes in the 140 category? Would the results have been different? It seems you have provided the definitive answer to whether it is worth the money to elect the Autoflex: No.

One addition to comment: The Accra "feels" like the Tensei Blue Stiff (55 grams) until the last foot -- which is where you get the Autoflex "whip" and speed. Damn cool b/c you can go at it full speed and don't need to try to "time your swing" as you (at least I do) on an AutoFlex. If you put the best of the AF, and the best of what the Tensei does, it would be this Accra. Damn impressed. Can't wait to use it on a straight up 9 degree Titleist TSR3 head (on A1) setting instead of a Titleist TSR3 10 degree turned down .75 on the B1 setting. Will report back if I do.

At the end of the day, most players will struggle on the course with those light and whippy setups. Look at Adam Scott and his accuracy issues under tournament conditions. A lot of things might work in the hitting bay, but most setups out of your comfort zone will be bad on the course. As for Autoflex - it’s absolutely similar to an old MRC Bassara GG. If you want an Autoflex, but think the pricetag is silly high, try to find a Bassara GG for much less.

It would be interesting to see you spend another few minutes adjusting loft and face angle on either the AF or Accra, to take advantage of the higher launch and little bit of a draw shape they both had. I.e. go down 1* of loft, open the face up a tad. Could help with the spin numbers on the AF. I built up my Ping G425 with a Grand Bassara 29R, and immediately gained something like 4* extra launch and 20-30' peak height. It allowed me to drop loft a fair bit to get my spin and peak height back to where I wanted, and got me some extra yards too.

I wonder how CC feels about you guys’ love affair with AutoFlex. Nick (CC owner) is on record saying he’ll never carry it in his shops

It’s not an issue. Our demo offerings are very similar, they carry some things that we don’t and vice versa.

Except his reason for not carrying it is an emotional reason, not a data or logic reason. Hopefully you guys don’t rule out offerings because of personal vendettas.
Maybe you can change his mind for me so I can test it? 😉

Can you not brand as TXG by Club Champion? Seems a shame to throw away that recognition.

I have many friends that hit the AutoFlex shaft and I am not sold on the product per say, but after watching Ian hitting the driver today that I want more info.
I know that beacuse of the lighter shafts the over all swing weight might be close to a D5 of higher. My friends have to make sure that their AutoFlex shaft is a much lower swing weight. So does that hold true for your Accra shaft? Does it need to be a lower swing weight? Also can I counterbalance this shaft to achieve that lower swing weight without damaging the shaft?
Thank you in advance for any info that you can give me about the shaft and the buildup would be appreciated.

Has me thinking...... My HZDRS Red 6.0 is feeling awfully "plank-y" these days.
