    GREAT review. I've had my 850 mL Titan for several years (still great!) but it also has the smaller handles. Saw a great tip online today... you can pull out the handle wire and reverse them to have the larger aspect of the handles on top... much better!!

      I didn't know they reduced the size of the handle on the 850 ml as well mine is from 2002 I think they had just been released

    Great review! The video description says it all. You say you were underwhelmed by the last msr cookset you reviewed; was that the trail mini solo, and if it was, were you underwhelmed by not being able to run the stove at full throttle??

      Hi yes I was disappointed with the trail mini due to not been able to use the rocket at full speed to me when they say light and fast it should deliver regards mike

    I've just got a big titan kettle. It's handles are exactly the same size as the smaller kettle.

      I wonder if MSR has increased the handle size due to feedback from users ?

    Great review, as usual. Wished they put graduated measurement markings on their pots... I’d buy both the MSR pots you have, if so! But as it is, I’ll stick to buying Evernew, Snow Peak (& Keith Titanium) and Vargo... who put them in their pots.

      Some measures would be good what I did was to mark the handle of my titanium spork with a dot for every 100 ml a sort of dipstick regards mike

      KIS Bush Craft Downunder That’s a great solution. Supposedly MSR’s smaller Titan Kettle’s weld marks each approximate 1 cup, 2 cups and 3 cups, respectively. Not sure if that’s true though? You ever test it?

    • @kisbushcraftdownunder
      @kisbushcraftdownunder  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mr. Tangent hi I did test the spot welds they work out at 280ml 480 ml & 685 ml so sort of close to one to three cups
      Regards Mike

      KIS Bush Craft Downunder Thanks for that, Mike! I wonder if that was intentional? Still love their pots... just wished they’d put proper markings inside them. :)

      Mr. Tangent hi the strange thing is the titan cook set 700 and 1000ml pans have really good markings on them then the 2000ml pan has none regards mike

    Drives me crazy when successful companies like MSR cut corners on production by having smaller handles or less structural integrity, the scary thing is that the shelves are packed with counterfeit products from China that are hard to spot unless side by side with the real McCoy. Label's box everything is copied exactly but the quality is compromised to meet a production and profit margin, often the seller is a participant in this industrial espionage with little if any concern about the end user of a sub standard product, the piracy of bushcraft gear especially gear that is counted on in remote locations is equal to a deliberate indifference homicide. If you have any suspicion, and a capacity inaccuracy sure sounds like something is not kosher, you should send it to MSR and have them look at it, because it may well be a knock off. There is a big difference between Caveat Emptor and a deliberate counterfeit of a product by a communist regime, aimed at the destruction of an industrial base.
